Her loyalty is to China, not to Mitch.

46

u/BitTwiddles 25d ago

She was born in Taiwan and emigrated to the US with her parents when she was 8, so I am not sure there is a strong allegiance to The People's Republic. But there might be a strong tie to her family's shipping business.

79

u/Electrical-Pack3040 25d ago

Mitch was born in the US and his loyalty is definitely not to americans

11

u/AwarenessOk5135 25d ago

Just certain ones like his boss

11

u/Named_after_color 25d ago

He was definitely not loyal to Trump. Mitch was the boss. If he could still think he'd hate him with every fiber of his being while fronting as his biggest fan. He honestly might've hated Trump more than he hated Obama.

And Idiocracy was supposed to be satire, not a documentary

33

u/CrazyMildred 25d ago

To be fair, the dumb people ended up listening to the smart person in that movie. This is much worse than Idiocracy.

22

u/Steelers711 25d ago

Also the president in that movie genuinely wanted to help people and listened to his experts, which is very different to our current reality

4

u/Suspicious_Dingo_426 25d ago

I would rather live in that world. At least they knew they were incompetent, and looked for the smartest person they could find for a solution.

3

u/GOEDEL_ESCHER_BOT 25d ago

If idiocracy is a documentary why isnt Luke Wilson saving the country right now

4

u/TooFat-Guy 25d ago

Because Idiocracy is years after everything got abused and broken beyond recognition, such as happening right now.

It's going to get a lot worse if we don't do anything, but what will we actually do, and when? There's too little awareness and too little motivation, apparently we're still too comfortable.

I like the idea that he's not actually confused about the issue, he's just confused about why he's supposed to vote with Republicans. Like he's thinking, "Well that sounds like a good thing, obviously I want to vote yes," forgetting that he's spearheaded an effort to gaslight and take advantage of the entire American public for decades

3

u/RestlessAlbatross 25d ago

This non-ambulatory, partially taxidermied hatemonger is still being paid 11.2 times minimum wage plus free healthcare (not to mention 3 months paid leave with zero consequences). And he can't even push a god damn button correctly under his own power and cognition.

87

u/The-King-Tomato 25d ago

People dont realize yet that without accountability the whole system breaks and voting does nothing.

69

u/henryeaterofpies 25d ago

That's kinda Republican's goal

56

u/npmaker 25d ago

If conservatives become convinced that they can not win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. The will reject democracy.

18

u/jjwhitaker 25d ago

And that was 8 years ago. Coup 2.0 is well underway.

16

u/Ill_Technician3936 25d ago

His entire administration is basically setup for a coup...

Maga isn't what it was 6 years ago though. He needs a miracle at this point even then though your average American should be ready to have a massive brawl in the streets before they can get to the capitol building.

6

u/notoriousksc 19d ago

It wasn't 8 years ago, it broke in 2000 with Gore/Bush, after years of dismantling guardrails (primarily under Reagan). We are just watching the system get progressively more broken.

It didn't start with Trump, and its not going to end with Trump, either. If Trump's presidency is what brought your attention to this issue, I am glad to have you onboard! However, to be able to address the issue proper, you must know when and how the issue began (so you better know the when and how of fixing it).

5

u/Educational-Seaweed5 18d ago

That requires basic education though.

And that has been constantly dismantled as well.

All according to plan since the ol’ Reaganomics days.

9

u/Suspicious_Dingo_426 25d ago

They never cared about democracy in the first place. It was always about manipulating whatever systems exist to further their goals.

9

u/Honest-Abe2677 25d ago

I agree, but she was never this bad. She didn't have people telling her who to vote for, and her own party was the one urging her to leave office. She also stepped down from all of her boards and responsibilities when she started mentally declining. Her situation is not the same as this. Keeping people in the dark, controlling how Mitch votes, and doing all the sketchy things required to avoid a special election when he's clearly a shell with no mind up there at all. He can't even form words.

5

u/Kairamek 25d ago

Yes they did. She was directed how to vote by aides, just the same. I remember it specifically because in my line of work we block someone's account when we see exactly this behavior from people around the elderly.

4

u/FlounderKind8267 25d ago

You miss where she was actively giving her speech about her support for the bill. She didn't vote one way then was told to change, like McConnell did the other day. She already showed multiple times and said what she was going to vote for. She was just told it's time to vote, not time for speeches

Please go back and read the whole conversation between me and this guy before you start having your meltdown 🤦

That was wrong too. And most dems would agree. 13

So much of modern America is all of the things I was told as a kid made the Soviet Union a worse country than ours. Empty store shelves, specialists being booked out for years (one of Reagan's favorite jokes!), surveillance, government corruption/meddling in domestic affairs, faithless elections…

He did vote ā€œnoā€ the original time he was asked and the speaker went back to him and the second answer was ā€œyesā€ after a little help .
What does the record reflect?

There’s nothing behind those eyes. He’s gone.

He's a puppet. He's a broken puppet, but a puppet nonetheless.

Shame on you America.

To be fair, no Republican congressmen are cognitively able to make the decisions themselves

u/MrMeowPantz 25d ago

They had to do the same with Fienstein or whatever her name was too. Neither of them should have stayed in office as long as they did.

Not just cognitively, but physically. His hand was stuck and he couldn't physically hit no.

Age limits NOW!

GREAT question! This goes back to my prior ā€œAre you 12?ā€ (a reply I received) discussion about establishing by law a global maximum age limit for all politicians, appointees and nation’s leaders. My reason to set the limit at 60-ish is that by the time a person is in their 2nd term (or 8 years in any position over 70; they, just like me at 76, have potentially disqualifying medical conditions, especially the ability to succeed usder enormous and constant stress. Consider how much reading, knowledge, staff administration, etc. is required of all members of Congress. While a person may have high IQ (by relative/subjective testing), long experience and large knowledge bases; just the potential for not retaining the capacity to make valued, timely decisions and/or actions is a risk every nation’s citizens should have to deal with. As any successful businessperson knows, the capacity for making qualified, essentially correct determinations is vital to that business’ success, merit, profit and value to society/humanity as a whole. Geez… that’s another topic for discussion on Reddit: "IQ Testing & Numeration." JTBURR7650

C’mon now. I mean, really. He’s practically already dead…

u/TacoDoc2 25d ago

He did a stroke, Doctors took months to get him to a state where he could sit up almost on his own.

there is nobody home behind those eyes. Republicans are literally voting with a corpse.

I’m almost certain this is illegal. BUT, laws don’t matter anymore.

u/BeerGogglesFTW 25d ago

He's no longer qualified to be a greeter at Walmart. Holding his current position as a US Senator is insane.

3

u/Background-Run 25d ago

Whoops! Almost voted my conscience there.

At this point, this is elder abuse. He’s a monster, he’s responsible for a lot of the problems we as a country face now, and I wish him nothing good. But he is clearly suffering severe impairment and is being used and wheeled out as a puppet. Maybe this is what he would have wanted, to use his senile body as a puppet to fuck over the democrats one last time but Jesus, just let him end his miserable life quietly at home.

There's no consequences or accountability.

To paraphrase my favorite TV show: The Democrats are a bunch of ineffectual dorks in fleece vests.

Yet they will still go to the ā€œsleepy joeā€ bullshit while defending this animated corpse

3

u/ReasonableJello 25d ago

Isn’t this technically the same BS Trump used to say about Biden’s autopen.

3

u/BigBlue1210 25d ago

Weren't republicans complaining about Biden using autopen because they believe someone else was using it while here we clearly see someone is instructing McConnell what to do? The party of hypocrites strikes again.

3

u/OriginalLie9310 25d ago

But we have to hear never ending conspiracies about the auto pen Biden used (something Trump also uses).

More people should be mad about this. This country is a farce. And this chat boards isn't much better. Threatening to ban me for speaking my mind and needing to change words.
