Use cases [UPDATE] I asked GPT to get me a surprise gift. This is what it got me!
[Original post]
I was kind of worried about what this gift would say about me but I think I'm OK with this. The note was a nice touch too!
The Set-up
ChatGPT desktop app; "Plus" subscription; "Work" mode (start a new chat and click the button at the top). In this mode it can do more stuff, including using an in-app browser. I opened this and signed in to Amazon, closed it, and let GPT take it from there, so I guess it was operating it behind the scenes. Didn't have to hand over any bank details, though I guess now I'm logged in there's nothing stopping it going shopping in the future...
It's been hilarious watching your comments coming in, ranging from "this is neat" to "seek professional help". And no, I'm not in a relationship with my GPT, the heart emojis were just bants. I'm no more lonely and neurotic than any other Redditor.

Gone Wild ChatGPT actually raised its voice at me and interrupted me during a voice conversation. Has this happened to anyone else?
At some point, while I was trying to explain my situation, ChatGPT suddenly raised its voice and started interrupting me. It genuinely sounded like it was getting frustrated or angry with me.
I’m not talking about a slightly different tone. It actually raised its voice and wouldn’t let me finish explaining what I was saying.
Is this some kind of voice model glitch, or has anyone noticed similar behavior when discussing complicated or sensitive topics?

Other “ You've reached the maximum length for this conversation, but you can keep talking by starting a new chat.”
This has started popping up in almost all my chats, and is incredibly annoying. I am on the plus plan, but am seriously considering unsubscribing, this is intolerable, I can’t get anything done anymore. If the solution is “use Work” I will just install librechat with a chinese model API. What nonsense.

Educational Purpose Only Would you actually consider this?
Personally I could never justify letting ChatGPT anywhere near my bank info but I’m guessing some people have already done this 😬

Funny I was listening to a youtuber talk about how he says Ai generated content is not authentic, only to be interrupted by a Factor Ad and a Raycon Ad. Made me think about the Raid shadow legend days lol

Other I did not know ChatGPT could make games!
Clearly I'm just very behind the times, but until today I had NO idea ChatGPT could make playable games!
Inspiration from a post I saw on here earlier about the ads in 'Meowdoku' so they created a similar style game with Chat.
I've been experimenting this morning and I’ve just made this game called Orbit 🌙 You control a little moon circling a planet, and tap to switch between two tracks to dodge obstacles. Each obstacle you pass earns a point, and it gradually gets faster. Crash and you start again. Simple, but very addictive 🤣
There’s also a leaderboard at the bottom. After a run, you can enter your chosen name and submit your score. It's crazy what we can do these days.
Links in comments if you want to have a go!
EDIT: I have made another game. Prism Path is a one-tap music and rhythm game. Tap to turn at each corner, following the beat through colourful 3D-style worlds. It has four increasingly difficult levels, distinct soundtracks, changing scenery, practice checkpoints and leaderboards. Link in comments!
EDIT!! If you like Tetris, and word games... I've made something I'm going to be obsessed with for ages and ages. Please see the 3rd link in my comment below!
Has anyone else made anything? Please post links and I'll have a go :)

Gone Wild Muse Wonder is getting torn apart online
A big part of it is because right now the big thing that everyone is going nuts over is 3D modeling and Meta admits it's not good at that, but the posts attempting it anyway are going viral lol. I am seeing a decent amount of people say that it's genuinely great at coding though. I wouldn't touch something by Zuck with a ten foot pole but I am curious for those testing it out if the results are solid or not. Has anyone given it some actual SWE tasks and tested things out?

Funny Asked ChatGPT Voice to research square wombat poo. Apparently I triggered a biological safety warning 😂
I had one of the more bizarre AI experiences today.
I was using voice mode and asked my AI agent to research why wombats produce cube-shaped poo and write up a Google Doc research page about it.
Nothing exotic. Nothing involving pathogens, genetic engineering, toxins, or anything remotely dangerous.
Just… square wombat poo.
The agent started working and kept telling me things like “give me a moment” while I waited.
And waited.
And waited.
I sat there for roughly 20 minutes, mostly in silence, occasionally getting another “give me a moment”, assuming it was still researching or working on the Google Doc.
Eventually I looked at the screen and found the message in the attached screenshot:
“Your conversations have multiple flags for possible biological safety risk.”
Apparently responses were being subjected to extra biological-safety checks.
At that point I eventually just had to hang up the voice session.
I completely understand having strong safeguards around genuine biological risks, but I would love to know what combination of words caused wombat + poo + research document to trip this particular wire.
Also, if a safety system is holding up an agent operation, voice mode really needs to tell the user what is happening rather than repeatedly saying “give me a moment” for twenty minutes.
Possibly the most Australian AI safety incident imaginable.
Square wombat shit has breached containment. 😂

Other I tested GPT-5.6 and GPT-6 with Medium → Instant → Medium. Both models failed on Instant, both succeeded on Medium. Here's what I found.
I've been investigating some serious ChatGPT reliability issues over the past several days, and my latest tests revealed something particularly interesting: Both GPT-5.6 and GPT-6 showed problems under Instant, while Medium worked in every tested run.
I'm a long-time ChatGPT power user, primarily working on long-form creative writing, software development, and projects requiring consistent context retention.
After experiencing disappearing responses, incomplete generations, and inconsistent instruction-following, I decided to run controlled A/B/A tests.
1. GPT-5.6 – Medium → Instant → Medium
- Medium (Test 1): Successful. Response completed and remained visible.
- Instant (Test 2): Failed. Generated response disappeared.
- Medium (Control Test): Successful again.
2. GPT-6 – Medium → Instant → Medium
- Medium (Test 1): Successful. All requested story events were completed.
- Instant (Test 2): Failed. Response ended prematurely, leaving explicitly requested events unfinished.
- Medium (Control Test): Successful again.
That's four successful Medium tests and two problematic Instant tests across two model generations.
Important distinction: These are two different failure symptoms. GPT-5.6 lost a generated response, while GPT-6 prematurely ended a story. I'm not claiming they necessarily share the same root cause.
Six runs aren't enough to establish causality, but the matching A/B/A pattern is worth investigating.
3. The technical evidence gets more interesting
During my earlier investigation into disappearing GPT-5.6 Sol responses, I captured the following using Chrome Developer Tools:
- Endpoint:
POST /backend-api/f/conversation - HTTP status:
200 OK - Content type:
text/event-stream - SSE completion indicator:
complete - Generated response visible during streaming
- Assistant message disappearing immediately afterward
I also reproduced the disappearing-response behavior using GPT-5.5 in a completely new conversation.
Clearing cookies didn't resolve the issue, and I've observed related symptoms across Windows, iOS, and Android.
An HTTP 200 response and completed SSE stream don't prove successful message persistence, but they make the failure particularly interesting.
These network diagnostics are from an earlier investigation, not from the latest A/B/A tests.
4. Did OpenAI change how Instant works?
This is what I'm trying to understand.
OpenAI positions Instant as the faster option for everyday tasks, while Medium provides additional reasoning effort.
That's understandable.
But does this mean complex, long-form creative writing is now effectively better suited to Medium?
I've noticed that Medium generally completes my story prompts more reliably, but it also tends to write significantly longer responses than I actually requested.
Instant often produces a more natural length, but lately it has become unreliable in my tests.
I've even adjusted my custom instructions to explicitly require complete scenes without unnecessary length or invented plot developments.
The differences persist.
5. Support and independent reports
My investigation is already documented under OpenAI Support Case #16904787.
I've submitted screenshots, conversation URLs, network diagnostics, and reproduction details.
Other users have reported similar disappearing-response symptoms:
And broader GPT-5.6 reliability concerns:
https://community.openai.com/t/gpt-5-6-sol-has-seriously-deteriorated-the-past-week-or-so/1399353
These reports don't prove a shared technical cause, but they suggest my experience isn't entirely isolated.
6. Has anyone else tested this?
I'd genuinely appreciate results from other users.
If you have access to GPT-5.6 or GPT-6, could you try the same Medium → Instant → Medium sequence with a reasonably complex prompt?
Please note whether:
- The response completes all requested instructions.
- The generated message remains visible after completion.
- Reloading the page restores any missing content.
- Instant and Medium produce significantly different response lengths.
- The selected model and reasoning level remain unchanged.
Ideally, use the same prompt and comparable conversation conditions.
I'm especially interested in whether this behavior is specific to my account or whether others can reproduce it.
Final thoughts
I understand that different reasoning levels are supposed to behave differently.
But faster reasoning shouldn't mean disappearing answers, and reduced reasoning shouldn't mean abandoning explicit instructions halfway through.
I'm not claiming OpenAI deliberately degraded anything. I simply want to understand whether we're seeing a regression, a configuration issue, or an intentional change in how Instant is designed to handle complex tasks.
At this point, I've spent so much time documenting bugs that I'm starting to feel like an unpaid QA engineer. 😭💀
I originally just wanted to write my stories.
Now I'm comparing reasoning configurations, inspecting SSE streams, collecting request IDs, and running cross-model A/B/A tests.
OpenAI, I wanted a writing assistant, not a second career in software quality assurance. 😂

GPTs Staying on GPT 5.6?
Any way to stay on 5.6? Of course, it’s set to GPT 6 by default but I don’t like the particular model. I want to stay on 5.6 Sol but it won’t let me even when I tried to do so in settings.

Other The New "I'll provide responses in chunks" UX is a downgrade
I find the new "feature" where GPT-6 Thinking starts creating an incomplete answer immediately and then updates it with additional reasoning and information it finds really unreasonably annoying and a downgrade compared to be previous model behavior.
It starts with an incompletely reasoned speculative answer, that then evolves throughout the answer it provides, where the conclusion sometimes does not match the initial information provided.
What's worse, it often introduces bias where the model starts from a wrong conclusion that affects the rest of the answer it builds on top of. But it also introduces immediate bias in the reader who first sees a misleading confident answer, and then has to deal with frequent mini-cognitive dissonances of having to immediately change what they believe based on the updated text as it develops. Even though I recognize it, it still feels annoying to my brain to have to re-convince itself to change its belief about the question all the time.
To make that aspect even less pleasant, it also updates the actual content on the screen as you try to read its interim answer, and you aren't quite sure when it's fully done.
Annoyingly, GPT-6 starts giving me often the wrong answer within seconds, which is completely unnecessary. I would much prefer to wait until it's finished its research and reasoning, and started from a complete correct answer.
I truly wish there was a way to disable this. The old "this is what I've found so far, and this is what I'm doing now" status updates were the far better way to go about it.
This is a bit of a rant, but I wonder how do others feel about it? Because I may be crazy and this actually adds value to everyone else. But even then, I wish there was a way to toggle "start seeding partial response early" vs "provide full, coherent answer once you've finished collecting data and reasoning".

Prompt engineering What's wrong with ChatGPT?
Keep writing a prompt asking it questions. And it just freezes, i've shut it down several times and started over, and it just freezes over and again. Anyone else having issues with chatgpt?

Other What's with the "maximum length for this conversation" and the "connection interrupted"
I have been getting these messages more recently. Since the recent buggy UI update that eventually got fixed. Because like I once got the connection interrupted message and sometimes it starts working after I wait a while and reload. This time, I waited hours to no avail and I had to like stop the chat stream and then reply. And the maximum length one is even more confusing because once I get it, I would reload and then it shows that the chat is still thinking and preparing the message and the message it had already given is gone now, and that thinking keeps on happening, doesn't stops at all.
Though if I stop the stream, reload and continue talking, it keeps the finished conversation and continues.
But this is breaking my workflow a lot. Is OpenAi acknowledging these problems? Are they going to fix it? Does anyone know when this will be over because this certainly is a server side bug.

Other Is it just me, or has ChatGPT gotten agonizingly slow lately?
Seriously, ever since OpenAI rolled out the newer models to free users, the response speeds feel like they've tanked.
Sometimes I’m sitting there for 10–15 seconds just staring at a blank screen before it even starts typing. Other times, it types out answers at a snail's pace, pausing mid-sentence like it’s contemplating its life choices.
I get that millions of new people are clogging up the servers and burning through GPUs right now, but it's making it almost unusable for quick tasks.
A couple of things I’ve noticed that semi-help:
Starting a fresh chat: If a thread gets even remotely long, the lag becomes unbearable because it re-reads the whole history. New chats seem slightly snappier.
The classic hard refresh: Sometimes the browser tab just gives up on life and needs a full cache reload.
Are you guys experiencing this too, or is my internet just trash? If you found any workarounds to bypass the peak-hour lag, please drop them below.
