I am so sick of people taking this exit as a “shortcut” (the redline) to merge back into Mopac down the road. I take the 35th street exit regularly and during heavy traffic times this exit/merge lane backs up from all these idiots trying to take the shortcut.

Also the blue line is a merge lane, and there is a yield sign at the end. I literally have not seen anyone actually yield/stop at that yield sign. This always adds stress when I’m trying to merge over to my exit and there are people coming out of that turn doing 40mph+ without stopping.

Nothing is moving here. Is the whole road is blocked. Do I just drive off the road into the feeder?

Specifically the HEB at 290 and 1826. Never used Marketplace before and have some tools to sell. I know there are cameras in the parking lot - no idea if the images would be of any use should something go wrong. I know there are millions of safe, successful meets every day, but . . . this stuff makes me uneasy. The items I have to sell are too heavy to put on Ebay because shipping would be so high.

I keep seeing booking photos of people on the APD Website of people being arrested for "4301-0 EXPIRED REGISTRATION TTC:502.407". Is APD really arresting and booking people for expired registrations? Seems at bit much considering APDs current level of apathy.

I have a kiddo very interested the magnet program at Kealing. All of his teachers think it would be a great academic fit. My only worry is the in-person essay. He is dysgraphic and it is SO hard for him to get his thoughts on paper. Add in stress and he just goes blank. He is already worrying he won't be able to do it.

Can anyone give me examples of past essay questions? Like to they have to analyze a story? Or talk about themselves? Is it a short story/creative writing? I was hoping to help him come up with a plan of attack and help him start organizing his thoughts. Thanks in advance.

Edit to add: He has a 504 (has dyslexia too!) and we'll definitely use his accommodations. But for essays I believe that would mean extra time, which is great but doesn't always mean the thoughts get down on paper. Dysgraphia is so weird. Thanks!

I’m looking for recommendations for a reputable diminished value (DV) appraiser in the Austin, Texas area.

My 2026 Hyundai Tucson is only 8 months old and was recently rear-ended in an accident. Given how new the car is, I’m concerned that the accident history will significantly affect its resale or trade-in value, even after the repairs are completed.

For those who have filed a diminished value claim in Texas, I’d love to hear about your experience:
Which diminished value appraiser did you use, and would you recommend them?
How much did the appraisal cost?
What was the process like, and how long did it take?
Did the appraiser provide a detailed report with comparable vehicles and supporting data?
Were you able to negotiate a higher settlement with the at-fault driver’s insurance using the report?
Was the final payout worth the appraisal fee and effort?

I’m particularly interested in independent appraisers who prepare thorough, defensible reports rather than companies that simply promise a high payout.

If you’ve gone through this process with a relatively new vehicle, I’d especially appreciate hearing how it worked out for you.

A commercial truck carrying large rocks was losing debris all over and cars were swerving to avoid being struck. My husband’s truck got pretty jacked up so I’m hoping someone witnessed it or has dashcam. We know the trucking company but the phone number goes unanswered.

What would our next steps be? He’s filing an incident report but is there really any recourse?
