I am a freshman at UT and I don't really have a group to go out with or do stuff with like go to concerts. I hangout with some people from time to time (like play basketball or go get food) but I don't really have a set group like other people do. My friend group from high school did not make it to college and im finding a hard time getting a group that I can hangout with.

I just feel like everyone else has their groups already. I see so many posts of people throwing a birthday party, going to acl or some random concert, and things like that. How do I find people to do things like that with, when I don't really have a group? And lets say there was some random concert you wanted to go to how would you guys find someone to go with. Any advice would greatly be appreciated, thank you!

University of Texas students, parents and Black student organizations are questioning their university’s decision to allow a far-right speaker on campus amid concerns about hate speech’s place at UT.

Last week, manosphere influencer and podcaster Myron Gaines hosted a debate on campus, during which he used sexist, racist and homophobic slurs, according to video captured by UT students and Uncensored America, the organization hosting the event.

UT police shut down the event before its official conclusion when Gaines directed profane language toward individuals in the crowd.

lowk what the title says I lowk didn’t pass our first exam and we have another one and the final and I just feel stuck on what else to do because I feel like I’ve been studying adequately doing the problem set without the solutions, going to discussion etc. but whenever I look at the exams, I get stuck. I’m considering the 18-month MA Econ track and currently work full-time remotely. My job has flexible hours and is seasonally busy, but there are also periods when the workload is relatively light.

For anyone who has done this combination, how manageable was the workload? Approximately how many hours per week did you spend on classes, assignments, and studying outside class? Were there particularly demanding periods when balancing both became difficult?

I am a Ph.D. student at UT Austin. The ACL Music Festival has truly destroyed my life.

I had an emotional support animal (ESA) living with me in UT housing. The address is located just across the river from the ACL festival grounds, less than one mile away.

My cat suffered from prolonged stress due to the constant noise disturbances. This Friday night, at 10 PM, as the music from the festival grew louder and reached its peak, he suddenly went into cardiac arrest and passed away.

I was right beside him when it happened. I clearly saw him suddenly jump up in distress, and I distinctly heard what sounded like one final, forceful heartbeat.

I tried to get an Uber, but because of the traffic congestion caused by the festival, I couldn’t get a ride. I tried to perform CPR on him. I continued chest compressions for an entire hour, but nothing worked.

At 11 PM, I contacted a pet funeral service. What should have been a 30-minute drive took them an hour and a half because of the traffic.

I said goodbye to my child. He was a sweet, gentle, 14-month-old purebred Maine Coon. His name was Sunny, because he had a white base coat with patches of fur that looked like the colors of the morning sunrise.

After the pet funeral service took him away, I was in so much emotional pain that I experienced a severe anxiety episode. An ambulance took me to the emergency room.

I didn’t leave the ER until 8 AM the following morning.

Hello, for the next upcoming semester Spring 2027 I wanted to change to a solo room. I have a roommate this semester and I have no problem with her, but I have come to the realization that I prefer to room alone since I stay up late doing homework/projects etc… Am I going to pay more if I change to a solo room with my own bathroom and everything, if so how much more will I be charged. I currently live in the QUAD dorms.
