Who gets drunk at 10 am

46

u/randomjuggalo 1d ago

Night shift people, our night is the regular peoples day also alcoholics

10

u/Shoddy_Statement_772 1d ago

Or.... people dealing with Family for Thanksgiving weekend?? We have tomorrow off lmao.

3

u/MouseWedger 1d ago

This would be me. I hate having to deal with family beyond my own core unit (husband and kids) on holidays now. It’s too complicated with his family and my divided family I grew up with, and then all the drama that ensues over who we saw and who we didn’t see. I’d rather be drunk.

1

u/Shoddy_Statement_772 1d ago

Yes! I fuuullly relate. I drink occasionally but yes I will drink early when having to deal with very complicated people.

-1

u/thebudrose99x 1d ago

It’s October🤔

7

u/Elrandra 1d ago

Other countries have their own versions of thanksgiving, on different dates. Canada is the second monday in october.

1

u/sassy_sweetheart 1d ago

So funny, my immediate thought was " huh, 2onder what country they are in", not "it's not even November yet, Thanksgiving is in November"

5

u/Shoddy_Statement_772 1d ago edited 1d ago

Yes... ? Canadian Thanksgiving is October? I actually always find it wrong people say its November hahah. Its always before Halloween here

2

u/Miserable_Fennel_492 1d ago

I don’t care what happens when with the sole exception of seeing Christmas shit going up in stores before October (Halloween stuff). That’s just rude to all of us spooky season lovers. Let us have our time lol

3

u/Shoddy_Statement_772 1d ago

Yeah, thankfully, having thanksgiving before halloween always makes our decorations very fall heavy. Before all the christmas stuff starts getting vomited into the stores. Big ones have small sections already here :( But bigger halloween/fall/Thanksgiving deco section ❤️❤️

3

u/WhiteLycan2020 1d ago

Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving on the 2nd Monday of October

1

u/thebudrose99x 1d ago

You know what’s funny I’m leaving a fishing trip in Canada right now lol the more ya know. Not a single person mentioned this😑

3

u/Shoddy_Statement_772 1d ago

Thats actually pretty funny. A lot of people end up doing it Sunday night or Friday night

3

u/FatFaceFaster 1d ago

It’s not a big thing here. Just a long weekend and an excuse to eat turkey.

It’s not celebrated nearly as big as it is in the US.

Honestly you guys go hard for thanksgiving but don’t seem to go as wild at Xmas.

Canadians make a much bigger deal of Xmas and Boxing Day (Dec 26) is treated a lot more like the way y’all treat Black Friday.

At least…. That’s the way it was before Amazon and cyber Monday and all that.

1

u/Shoddy_Statement_772 1d ago

Yes ^ 👍 I have a chef for a step dad and its only been a slightly bigger deal with him because he can cook a nice big meal.

But its for sure way bigger in the US I think thats why its forgotten so often hahaha

-3

u/NoBiznizLikeYoBizniz 1d ago

The US also has a Thanksgiving weekend. But 10am would still be early to already be smashed, especially if you're contributing.

2

u/Shoddy_Statement_772 1d ago

Yeah, to be fair, I can fully agree. The fact that he's hammered, not just tipsy. I think I was more giggling at the fact there is a very popular, very large holiday for a very large country today. Which includes family coming to visit and often, that's when people drink.

But all honesty, when I first saw this, I assumed he was just still drunk from the night before. Or something

1

u/NoBiznizLikeYoBizniz 1d ago

Oh yeah. Def. Simply drinking at 10am is nbd.

True. And it would be funny if he actually is in Canada because that kind of night is holiday behavior.

1

u/Shoddy_Statement_772 1d ago

Yeah tbh I drink a couple times a year but I start drinking early when I have to deal with family who are awful. So thats why I thought that at first before I clicked he seems pretty hammered.

10

u/FitPossession8762 1d ago

Yep, i work graveyard shift, gotten drunk at 8am and stumbled over to the diner nearby and get a nice breakfast for myself.

4

u/Howler_in_training 1d ago

We have a Fuzzy's Taco Shop that is our night shift staple because we can get breakfast after shift AND their full bar is open at 8am. They don't even blink twice to see the night crew folks amble in like a herd of zombies for Monday-morning-margaritas. Lol

1

u/Ancient_Internal8939 1d ago

Fuzzy Taco Shop? Is that code?

1

u/ImEggcellency 15h ago

It's a (relatively) local Tex-Mex chain in TX & OK. They have the biggest breakfast burritos I've seen & they are pretty good imo.

1

u/leg00b 1d ago

Yup. On my Fridays I'd get a 12 pack and drink a little bit

11

u/blarrrrrgggg 1d ago

Yinzers on game days.

3

u/LeatherInternal7499 1d ago

lol hey Pittsburgh

2

u/blarrrrrgggg 1d ago

1

u/Living-Possession937 16h ago

Lol surprise Yinzer reference on the web. Pittsburgh was a fun college experience.

2

u/wtsnack 1d ago

Glad to see them shit on the colts today!!!

3

u/blarrrrrgggg 1d ago

Hell ya! Glad for the win!

u/Minute-Letter-4103 1d ago

Could be Sunday brunch, could be a vacation. My brothers Bach trip had us start at like 10

5

u/NoBiznizLikeYoBizniz 1d ago

A friend attempted to plan a brunch before 10am once. She was quickly rebuked for trying to trick us into breakfast.

3

u/titsmcgeeDDD 1d ago

Bach trip? I need to know more

2

u/Minute-Letter-4103 1d ago

Bachelor party starting really early. Ate a lot just to keep going the whole day. Our theory is his fiance doesn’t let him out much

5

u/titsmcgeeDDD 1d ago

Lmaoooo. Not me thinking you meant JS Bach party 🤣

4

u/mendenlol 1d ago

same, do we bring our own instruments???

2

u/Solid-View1747 1d ago edited 1d ago

That’s what I thought and then remembered that people of a certain age only speak in monosyllabic words (I do so appreciate that specific word required 5 syllables)

0

u/Minute-Letter-4103 1d ago

lol what it that?

4

u/titsmcgeeDDD 1d ago

Johann Sebastian Bach… one of the three greats of timeless musical artistry

5

u/Ben_Thar 1d ago

Mozart parties are still drinking from last night.

1

u/Rare_Beach1793 1d ago

The Beethoven party was lame, left early

0

u/Minute-Letter-4103 1d ago

lol bro how am I supposed to get that with abbreviations? 😂

1

u/Planetary_Residers 1d ago

We'll safely assume you're born in the 2000's

2

u/CanweCanweCleanIt 1d ago

JS Bach is such a weird way to type out his name. Bro is tryna dunk on people who can be 26 years old but you’re working some dead end job driving a 20 year old car. If you live in a glass house don’t throw stones.

-2

u/CanweCanweCleanIt 1d ago

Do you just not get out much? You read Bach party where people got hammered at 10am and assume he was talking about the composer? xd?

1

u/Planetary_Residers 1d ago

Don't know much about musicians, people from that time, or composers I take it

1

u/CanweCanweCleanIt 1d ago

Are you trolling? You think I’ve never heard of Bach?

That doesn’t make it any less weird that this dude thought, “they could be at a Bach party, last time I was at my brother’s we started drinking at 1030am” meant that they were celebrating the German composer. Grow up

1

u/Ryans1852 1d ago

Bach? Classical music is in right now lol

1

u/sassy_sweetheart 1d ago

2 weeks from tomorrow ill be on vacation and heading out to scuba dive at 8am, cocktails on the way back.

1

u/Klutzy-Test9990 1d ago

Ain’t nothing wrong with day drinking. Now and again of course.

Have fun, enjoy the day and then have a chance to hydrate before bed so you might not feel as bad next day.

1

u/Economy_Prune1870 4h ago

No..Brunch is food between breakfast and lunch, not an alcohol-related event

7

u/mindgame_26 1d ago

Used to get off work at 7am. Wasn't at all unusual to be drunk by 10. I'd even occasionally need to be woke up at weird times for a doctor appointment or whatever.

2

u/sassy_sweetheart 1d ago

I used to work in a bar, I opened at 7am and had a woman come in everyday at 7:30 for a double tequila with a lime, up. That was her 7:30pm. Several years later i found myself working 3rd shift. I could never wrap myself around drinking anything more than a bloody or mimosa in the am hours...I wasn't built for 3rd shift.

1

u/mindgame_26 1d ago

I completely understand. 3rds are not for everyone.

6

u/Warm_Thought3594 1d ago

i’ve often seen my brother absolutely shitfaced from 6-8am a countless amount of times, he’s a very bad alcoholic.

1

u/Hot_Page_8718 1d ago

It’s a condition.

1

u/Apprehensive_Mix584 12h ago

My brothers drunk all morning and then sleeps all day goes to work overnight and drinks a cutwater before walking in the doors and drinks on his breaks and then when he gets off goes to the casino and drinks and gambles 😭🤦‍♂️

4

u/itslooigi 1d ago

Kickoffs at 10AM son.

4

u/Haunting-Clue6555 1d ago

Bartender here, 3rd shifters who need something to go to sleep

3

u/Dangerous_Edge_7310 1d ago

I literally had this conversation with myself for two hours last week. By the time I was done, it was 12 o clock so I was good to drink

#LifeHack

2

u/ThrowForChristSakes 1d ago

Day light savings, bruh!

2

u/overworked_unloved 1d ago

Night shift workers before I got sober I was drunk a lot at 10AM

2

u/Glad-Technician3510 1d ago

People that aren't working that day and want to drink at 10 am, what a lame comment

1

u/Inner_Excitement_678 6h ago

Lame enough to get an arousal out of you 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

2

u/MusicalMusician312 1d ago

Clearly you never been to Bourbon Street.

1

u/FruitImaginary9111 1d ago

Used to be me... Every day. Half the time still drunk from the night before.

1

u/Merlock_Holmes 1d ago

It's 5 o'clock somewhere.

1

u/Safe-Accident-3909 1d ago

I never get drunk at 10am but on a weekend if I don’t work I might STILL BE drunk at 10am😂🙌🏻

1

u/jay25789 1d ago

Maybe he’s still drunk from the night before

1

u/MujerMaravilla86 1d ago

This woman’s husband apparently

4

u/Leather-Ad-4415 1d ago

I also choose this woman’s husband

2

u/Miserable_Fennel_492 1d ago

I will never not upvote a reference to that classic

1

u/Hot_Page_8718 1d ago

Could be his husband, but sounds like the female variety.

1

u/sabbathan 1d ago

Night shifters

1

u/xoxoQ 1d ago

I work nightshift till about 7am and then I might drink at 12-2pm before dozing off tbf

1

u/legendkiller003 1d ago

Tailgating?

1

u/rspkt808 1d ago

Plenty ladies I know that do breakfast or brunch and drink mamosas or champagne.

1

u/Friendly_Priority310 1d ago

My old work schedule 10am was my '8pm'

1

u/Ecstatic_Guava3041 1d ago

People who work overnight OR people who go to raves and end up still drunk in the AM

1

u/Easy-Permission8889 1d ago

Me. Sometimes. If I have nothing to do all day.

1

u/WorldWarLove 1d ago

When there's a weekend planned out of town we be sure to get our groceries done and get all the drinks for the weekend. We get to our destination could be in the woods or an airbnb we setup on Friday, have a little nice house warming ceremony on that Friday night. We go to bed at a reasonable hour then we wake up, some choose to wake and bake some will get a beer or two because FUCK IT. It's the weekend and who tf gonna tell me to not get drunk with the beer that we bought with the money that we worked for lol.

All jokes aside I'm due for a weekend out

1

u/TreeFiddyJohnson 1d ago

People that drink at 10AM? Isn't that obvious?

1

u/Chris___M 1d ago

Maybe he’s in a different time zone. Like Thailand

1

u/btdubbzsx 1d ago

Lots of people

1

u/Zepbound79CT 1d ago

Someone who has an addiction! Empathy is important here.

1

u/AmazingFlatworm_ 1d ago

My sister-in-law in med school.

1

u/steele_phallus 1d ago

You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning...

1

u/I_shave_dog_butts 1d ago

You clearly never heard the saying "it's 5 o'clock somewhere" before.

1

u/admiral_snackbar66 1d ago

Hey get a load of Judge Judy over here

https://giphy.com/gifs/Fss3XPBdFireg

1

u/Brian2binra 1d ago

Me because I work overnight so your morning is my night

1

u/ireezy5918 1d ago

Don’t make me revoke your party license.

1

u/ohitszie 22h ago

Night shift workers

1

u/Thehudsoneffect 18h ago

I'd assume it's from the night before

1

u/GrungyRopeApparatus 18h ago

me, an alcoholic

1

u/swimdownstream 17h ago

Who says he did? He could have been drinking all night and still drunk from the night before lol

1

u/ih8everythingequally 16h ago

Who cares when people decide to drink lol if they aren’t working go at it

1

u/imgodfr 15h ago

I once made the mistake of taking 2-3 tequila shots at 10am, spent the whole day feeling sick and didn’t even get drunk (which is weird because I’m 4’10 and 100lbs so 2-3 shots should get me drunk)

1

u/Dapper-Back4188 13h ago

Respectfully , I do . Night worker for a decade now . Although I “get drunk “ by 7am realistically

1

u/Jealous_Corgi_2168 9h ago

People who get off work at 6 am. Hell, one time I went to Burger King right after work and it was about 6:30 am, they only had their breakfast menu up, I said "hey I know it's a strange request but can I get a whopper? It's dinnertime for me" and sure enough they made it

1

u/Ashamed_Use_1587 6h ago

Or the much more likely answer, an alcoholic.

1

u/25_Unknown_Devices 6h ago

People who work the night shift

1

u/Plus_Duty479 5h ago

Never been to Wisconsin?

1

u/TooSmooothie 1d ago

Who cares

1

u/No_Field_925 1d ago

Me when I’m on vacation

0

u/Inner_Excitement_678 1d ago

Clearly running from something. Not one clear minded person thinks “I’ll just get drunk at 10am 😂

3

u/DangerousMouse8462 1d ago

He could work the night shift and got off work at 6 am, drink a few till 9:30 then text the wife at 10 am after getting ready for bed. I used to have a similar schedule

3

u/SessionLocal7451 1d ago

Clearly you didn’t read that they work night shift…so they have an opposite schedule of most people who get drunk at 10pm…

3

u/solid-sosa 1d ago

Not true, when you work overnight the time is irrelevant, that’s like saying eating anything other than breakfast at 7 am is weird when you work overnight, you can eat a steak or a burger and fries and it’s perfectly normal bc it’s like your dinner time.

1

u/Beanguyinjapan 1d ago

Yeah, I have an irregular sleep schedule AND appetite. "Breakfast" to me just means "the first meal I have after waking up" could be any time from 4:00 AM to 7:00 PM, but I'm still calling it breakfast if I haven't eaten yet that day

1

u/optimusHerb 1d ago

It’s weird working overnights then going back to a normal schedule on weekends.

1

u/InebriatedPhysicist 1d ago

Why on earth would you bother?

1

u/optimusHerb 1d ago

Kids and wife

1

u/Working_Research_736 11h ago

Been there brotha. It’s not just weird. It’s damn near impossible to have a social life on weekends when you are doing this.

1

u/Appropriate_Gold3540 1d ago

this 😭😭i definitely have cs i worked an overnight job so i completely understand the 10am drinkin

1

u/shaithiswampir 6h ago

This right here. You do get some strange looks buying beer at 7AM but I just got off work bro

2

u/DomesticatedRodent 1d ago

Yeah, I used to agree with you.. then I became a “General Manager” 😅

2

u/LongjumpingBicycle52 1d ago

It’s 10:49am here. I’ll just put my beer down now.

-1

u/Inner_Excitement_678 1d ago

People get so pressed, all defensive and whatnot 😂

0

u/_dudeasuh 1d ago

People who don’t base their whole lives around what society tells them they should be like. Have you ever been drunk at 10AM? Or spent a whole day drunk? Can be nice. Doesn’t have to be degenerate. Crazy thing is, just because the government says substances can only be abused, doesn’t mean you can enjoy substances in a non-abusive way.

0

u/Jamesbrown690 1d ago

Alcoholics. These are the kinds of people that ruin children

2

u/Some-Concentrate3229 1d ago

Or, uhhhh, they’re on vacation? Or work nights? Or had a late night out and woke up still drunk? Or are having some drinks with their extended family over for Thanksgiving tomorrow?

But no, I’m sure they’re domestic abusers!!!

1

u/Jamesbrown690 1d ago

You can be on all those things and still be an alcoholic

1

u/Jamesbrown690 1d ago

Alcoholism ruins families and lives.

-1

u/Finer-things-NM 1d ago

Judgmental much?

-1

u/pdavidson0911 1d ago

What the fuck do you even mean? There are so many good reasons to get drunk early. I pity you if you don’t every once in a while my guy. It’s fun.

0

u/matchstick1029 1d ago

People on vacation, work weird/no hours, or have a troubling relationship with alcohol.
