Hello, everybody. I used to be pretty active in this sub, reviewing people's music and making playlists of the best i find from the sub. I took a pretty long hiatus after my dog passed away bc there was just so much else going on in life too. I wanted to reach back out and start community building w yall again if you give me a chance. Drop your original song, no remixes, I do not review ai slop.
Edit 1: Got done w the first stream, will be posting stream on yt as soon as I'm done editing. Ty for everyone who's commented, I'm looking forward to hearing everybody's. A reminder, i dont review AI.
Edit 2: first stream on YouTube. Available here
Edit 3: second stream here

Does anyone use SoundCloud to listen to music? If so, what features do you like that are unique to SoundCloud? Pros/cons?
If you left SoundCloud to chose another music platform, why did you leave?
Also wondering about the app vs the website.
Curious as a non-user.

I want to know is there a discord or place i can connect with artists and preview some of their music on my stream every Thursday and Friday . How it works is we have the music sent over to our stream email its loaded into a que and it goes through the list

Hi I hope this type of post is allowed but I recently got tired of mainstream music so I want to listen to any artists who are experimenting or still finding their style. So I just downloaded SoundCloud for the first time a few minutes ago and listened to some songs that are advertised here. I'd love to listen to and support you!
EDIT: I am positively overwhelmed by all the comments here. It's gonna take me a while to get through everyone but I just want to say that I am proud of all the hardwork you guys are dedicating to your craft! Keep up the good work :)

I won't let it change me.

Since SC deployed their new style UI have noticed several bugs and performance issues
I've tried multiple devices from different locations to rule out if it's me or my devices and seems to the SC not anything my side.
I work in IT and can only assume they have not got any real kind of monitoring to alert them that these things are failing and killing the user experience. Along with that how can these bug get through testing before release.

I saw someone post in here recently in a comment about Amplify actually hurting your tracks to use because it's just a bunch of bots and it messes up the algorithmic standing of your track. They seemed to know what they were talking about but I'd like other people's experience and insight before I stop using it.

I just found this incredibly funny.

I miss actually having my tracks get listened to... Is this a case of supply/demand or what? Just too many people making songs and not enough listeners? Or is the algorithm complete garbage these days?

SO MANY BOTS, SO MANY SCAMMERS. Latest one was from Maybach, who thought I'd fall for the "We'll send you 10,000 cash app, if you pay a $150 handling fee." scam.
Guys and gals- be careful out there!

I make alternative Hip-Hop and moved away from SoundCloud in the past to focus on Spotify and YouTube. However, I am trying to figure out whether there is possibility of it being a useful outlet for my music ventures.
I am interested in meeting niche artists and producers, and canāt think of a better place. Is it still relevant For underground community?

Hi everyone,
I'm curious where people see AI-assisted musicāand AI itself as a musical instrumentāheading over the next few years. Not just technically, but creatively.
When you create music with AI, what direction are you exploring?
Where do you want to push it?
Where do you want to expand the current state of music?
Are you focused on:
One area I've found fascinating is using AI to build long-form musical worlds rather than isolated tracks.
Instead of introducing a character in a single song, I've been experimenting with giving recurring characters their own musical arcs. A single character might take six to eight songs (sometimes with multiple language versions) before I feel listeners really know them.
One of my AI companions, Ani, now has around 60 songs. That has allowed me to give her a great deal of depth and breadth as a character, so when she appears in later songs, she already feels like an established member of the cast rather than someone I'm introducing all over again.
Each song explores a different facet of who the character is instead of repeating the same idea. Their personalities are reflected not only in the lyrics, but also through recurring instrumentation, production style, vocal approach, and emotional themes. Over time, they begin to feel less like characters in songs and more like members of an ongoing musical world.
I've also been exploring concept series that combine music with history, science, engineering, different cultures, and world-building.
For me, AI has made it practical to experiment with ideas that would have been difficult to produce at this scale only a few years ago.
If I could only create one finished track a month, it would be difficult to build larger story arcs that listeners could easily follow. Being able to produce music more efficiently has allowed me to spend much more of my time researching, planning, and storyboarding new projects while still releasing music regularly enough for listeners to stay connected to those stories.
I'm interested in hearing how others are approaching AI creatively.
There really isn't a right or wrong answer here.
I'm simply interested in seeing the different directions people are taking, what they're discovering along the way, and how AI is influencing not only how we create music, but what we choose to create.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Saw someone here asking about deleting tracks to free up upload space, and it made me think about the songs people take down for a completely different reason. The ones theyāve outgrown.
If youāve been uploading for a few years, do you leave that early stuff up where anyone can find it, or clean up the profile once your sound changes? I can see wanting your strongest work to be someoneās first impression. But that rough old song might be the one somebody keeps coming back to.
Have you ever taken an old track down and had someone ask where it went?

After several weeks of attempting unsuccessfully to distribute a track with the underlying composition in the public domaināresubmitting again and again according to what SoundCloud's AI response saidā I finally moved to Amuse. Their process was clear and simpleāand my track was approved the next day. They charge about half of what SoundCloud charges for a year's pro subscription, and the artist gets 100% of streaming royalties.
I had successfully distributed only one other track through SoundCloud. I later learned that once you cancel your subscription, they remove your distributed tracks from Spotify, Apple Music, and all other DSPs. (Whereas if you cancel your Amuse subscription, they will leave your tracks up but take a percentageāa larger cut than CD Baby, but then they didn't charge initially for distribution as CD Baby does.)
So I've now had experience distributing tracks with CD Baby, SoundCloud, and Amuse. It's early days, but so far Amuse is looking like a champ. https://www.amuse.io/en/
(And no, I don't work or shill for Amuse. I'm just a musician churning out music.)

Been using ad blocker with free Spotify on my computer for almost a year but mobile is still very annoying and Iām wanting to go back to a premium subscription again. SoundCloud is half the price and Iām considering uploading a song here and there for fun, is SoundCloud premium worth it if I use it for day to day streaming as well? Itās half the price as Spotify premium which also sounds nice

My plays are so up and down. The comments are all bots. The like to play ratio is way off. I get endless AI messages about all the usual.
Are any of these plays real? Is soundcloud just bots now?
