You either a) don't have enough money on that card, b) used that card on another account for the same promo you're trying to use, or c) have had said card declined before so Uber won't use it anymore.

Neither. I charged back a transaction cause I never got my order and uber refused to refund me. So fuck em.

Brother what are you upset about then? You do a charge back and expect a company to let you buy from them again?? What's the point of this post? It's nothing against Uber, anyone and any company would do the same.

It’s the principle. I don’t care that I’m blocked from ordering, that’s honestly their loss.
I just think they’re assholes for insisting on charging me for an order I never received. Then denying me a refund and now blocking my ability to use their service because I refuse to pay for something I never got.
I guess denying me a refund of $24 is worth more to them than the thousands I would spend moving forward.
Its no inconvenience to stop using the service. More a blessing in disguise.

Try speaking with their human support. It’s just an AI bot in the chat in the beginning that doesn’t understand anything. Spam “Let me speak with someone” in the chat, the AI bot will escalate to a human support to resolve the issue for you. If you have no luck with the human support escalate again by asking for a supervisor

Yeah, did all that. They insisted my order was not eligible for refund.
Like talking to a brick wall.

Call the human support a piece of shit that gets paid in sex and work their humanity card like you mean it. That'll light'em up!

I ordered food a week ago and they delivered someone else’s order from a completely different restaurant to me.
Uber refused to refund me even tho I never got my actual order. So I had my Credit Card charge it back.
Now, when I try and place an order, I get prompted that I have this outstanding balance for that order they got completely wrong.
FUCK UBER EATS. Seriously. I can’t even get this fixed cause the AI won’t help and there’s no ability to speak to a human to straighten it out.
I’m not paying for an order I didn’t receive.

Yeah, that's the fuzzy end of the popsicle stick with charge backs - Uber just treats it like they haven't been paid. Honestly, you're probably best off not using the service anymore.

Credit card charge backs should always be a last resort with platforms. This was largely guaranteed to happen.
Their customer service is atrocious. But mainly it comes down how they value you as a customer algorithmically, and less about who is right or wrong. If we didn't live in a world of scammers and liars, then they wouldn't have to roll the dice on their customers.

Yeah, this is a completely shit move on their part. I order a lot, its really just convenient for me. They’d rather fight me over $24 than continue to make hundreds of dollars off me. Makes ZERO sense.
Also, having my CC charge it back was completely a last resort. I provided their AI chatbot all the evidence I would ever need for a proper refund. For whatever reason, they chose to dig their heels in. I’m not paying for an order I didn’t receive.

What makes sense to you and what makes sense to them are two different things. If we knew how their algorithm worked, we would then be able to abuse it. Still, it seems pretty basic to want to take care of your high value customers.
One thing worth mentioning is what you just mentioned - you're talking to a bot. They act nice and apologetic, but they don't act on it. Best advice would be to ensure you're dealing with a human, which will require a phone call. It doesn't feel like they review their AI handled chats to make sure it's working properly. They're just making money, and that's all that matters in the end.

They don’t have a support number. I tried. its impossible.

You have to basically bombard the chat service with asking for a rep representative, then you get to a person reading from a script; then you have to bombard them with “manager manager manager” “phone call”. Until they call you or offer the number to be put on hold

Well hopefully someone here can help you with that. It's hard because humans are costly.

Just how the cookie crumbles mate. Nothing you can do about it except be thankful that you’re no longer able to use UberEats

Literally look up food delivery ( your area ) on Craigslist and you’ll most likely find some dude named Dave that will do it for $10 flat plus food cost

Yeah I mentioned this a few times in here before. As I had it happened to me, after an order of mines was stolen. I unfortunately had to pay it back, since I need the service to also order my pack of weekly water. That I can't manage to carry up multiple flights with my health issues.

It's not very common for me to see someone complaining about something good happening to them, but here we are.

In general, charging back a transaction for an online service or product typically is going to result in one of two things.
Most commonly you just get your account banned from the service. Chargebacks are a last resort nuclear option because to get to that point the company disagrees completely with you and refuses to refund you, yet you still claw back the money.
Some companies will just ban and forgive the amount owed. But many won’t. Chargeback is simply clawing your money back, it doesn’t legally mean you don’t owe the company. Uber is a horrendous company but simply charging back doesn’t mean you don’t owe uber still…
You either pay that, make a new account, or stop using Uber…
Side note on chargebacks, everyone values money differently but chargebacks really should be an ultimate last resort. You get limited chargebacks per year but more importantly CC companies look poorly on them and if you do too many they view you as a risky poor customer and can drop you.
