USA Driver complains after a $16 tip

Post image

I don’t Uber Eats often, because I do live out in the country. Tonight I wanted to be lazy, so I ordered food. It’s an 8.1 mile drive, and on top of my order I tipped him $16. Already over the top but it’s a drive and I figured why not.

People can be so ungrateful

USA Uber Driver cancelled my Plan B order and asked me to “reconsider.”

Ooookay so where do I start. Basically, I needed to order a Plan B pill on the fly. Stuff happens. It was pouring outside and I had other stuff to get done, so I figured I’d just Uber eats it cause why not, the options there.

This guy accepts the order, and he’s on a bike, so it took him about 40 mins just to get to the CVS. Then he sits outside the CVS for an additional 30 minutes, before sending me this message.

Am I crazy, or is he saying he won’t deliver the pill “knowing what it would do” and asking me to reconsider??

And I don’t even know what he was talking about with the order total. The total was $60 for that one little pill and I tipped $10 even though the CVS is super close by.

I’m kinda embarrassed and also a little upset. Not really sure what to do. He hasn’t even cancelled the order yet so I can’t get reconnected to a new driver.

USA Dog's last meal never delivered -- FUMING

Post image

My dog was diagnosed with lung cancer at the end of August and I have been providing palliative care for him since then. We went to a third vet yesterday and I had him on injectable opioids, thinking he would make it to our scheduled euthanasia date of this Saturday, the 19th. We had an awful night last night, and I called the vet to come today instead, ASAP.

I ordered him a big fat cheeseburger and cheese fries for his last meal--this dog lived to eat.

I live in a building with a 24/7 front desk that regularly receives deliveries so when the driver messaged me saying that they wouldn't let him up, I told him to leave it with the front desk. I was literally sobbing hysterically and in no condition to micromanage a driver.

When I finally got myself together and took my boy out for his last walk, I expected to pick up his burgers from the front desk. Surprise, nothing was there.

I am beyond furious through my grief about this. I worked in retail myself and I know service industry people are frequently abused. I tipped $10 on this $30 order because (obviously) it was SO important to me to get it on time.

My dog never got his cheeseburger. He passed away and I am having trouble articulating just how enraged I am. I don't know if there are words in any language that can describe just how upset I am.

Denis, I know you're not reading this but you made one of the worst days of my life even worse. Congratulations.

Edit: the front desk is manned by a dedicated staff that I know very well and they have worked here for years. This is also a huge residential building that has tons of food deliveries every day so it is very organized. No items are ever left out for grabs.

And yes the note said "this is my dog's last meal"

Hey all, another edit: I honestly don't think Denis stole the burgers, I mean who would eat a cheeseburger and cheese fries at 9am? They weren't even from a nice place--I just ordered because I thought it was cute that it was "Dog Haus" for my dog and they happened to be open. I think the more likely story is that he delivered them to the wrong address. I live in the heart of downtown Chicago and he probably delivered to another building. In any other situation, I would have a hard time caring less about a stupid cheeseburger. I am certain the front desk did not eat my cheeseburger because this building has over 700 apartments that order food in massive quantities daily. There's nothing so enticing about my $30 burger and fries that would inspire these folks to steal them.

I want you to know that Uber did escalate the case and refunded me and also gave me a future credit. I don't intend to use these because this was such a horrid experience, and I also never was much of a delivery person. To the person who said that I was too lazy to stop by the drive through, your reading comprehension sucks and I hope you have the same kind of empathy extended to you in your time of anguish.

And thank you all for your kind words. I miss my sweetheart so much I feel physically unwell, but I know I did everything medically possible for him and I did manage to get a breakfast sandwich and chocolate donut from Dunkin for him (plus a bison steak, pork chop, and half a pound of ham). He received his first injection in his bed while I hand-fed him these things, and he received the lethal injection with his head in my arms. It's really hard to "let their last day be a good one."

This makes no sense to me. I got a report this morning saying I didn’t deliver an item and I understand why it’s just scummy. They ordered a $1300 I Mac from Best Buy. They didn’t even put a numbered address on their end just the street name so when I got there I called 3 times of course no answer so I texted them and they finally gave me their address. I dropped it off and I had a feeling something like this would happen so I took a picture of the house number, the house and the delivered goods with the house number. What I don’t understand here is the fact that if I “didn’t deliver” it why tip me more than initially. I’m on the phone with support. And I’ve been disconnected 3 times. Such terrible support it’s insane but yeah if anyone went through similar please let me know if I need to further assist in anything cause I have all pictures I need saved.

Told this driver i was in the bath and couldn't answer the phone to give him directions, theres instructions attached to the order that he could have parked and read. In the second screenshot at the top where its cut off he was complaining that i couldn't communicate with him when i was activley texting him. Uber refunded me for the order but still charged me for the drivers tip.

Was sitting in the house and heard a loud crash, like wtf? Looked out the window to see the driver leaving. Then saw the damage to the garage door. Contacted Uber with no response yet.

USA Driver said my tip was disrespectful

Ordered food after my work shift today since I've been feeling sick. Gave the driver clear instructions and never had a problem before. I usually tip about 3 to 5 dollars for my small orders (usually 20 dollars or less) I get thru the app. I used to do Uber Eats deliveries myself with a previous car I had, so I know how far tips can go over time the more deliveries you do in a day and I've been tip baited a few times before.

I rewrote the instructions in the messages in case they need to be automatically translated. Driver was new and told me that I was asking for too much to be done and told me to get it myself. All around unprofessional. Took off the tip and left a negative rating because of the attitude and unprofessionalism but I also feel bad for doing that.

USA Driver destroyed our lawn, Uber Support not doing anything about it

Post image
344 Upvotes

This morning we had ordered from the app, and when we went to the door to retrieve the order we noticed that the man who delivered to us had pulled up and destroyed our lawn with his car. We tried to shout to him to stop, but he took off.

Furthermore, since Uber apparently doesn't take calls for customer support anymore and only does support via chat bots, we were not able to actually do anything about this. They said something along the lines of how "upsetting it must be to have personal property destroyed" but that they "took the proper steps to take care of the situation" with nothing else.

I'm happy this wasn't major damage like a car accident or a mailbox, nothing really worth going through the hassle of filling a police report over. But what else can I do? Uber clearly does not care about its employees destroying personal property if the best I could get was a "so sorry" from them.

UPDATE: We have since contacted our home insurance, and Uber has offered insurance info to cover the damages done by the driver.

As a driver for all major gigs part time...HOW, HOW CAN YOU BE SO RIDICULOUS TO NOT ONLY STEAL MY FOOD BUT I TIPPED WELL BEYOND 20%. I ordered through instacart and yes I know their $10 off just deals with fees. I had a $60 order and this woman took a photo of some random place and called it a day. Me? Im pissed Ubereats won't even call the woman and they direct me to someone else that can't help and that other person can't help.

I just wanted my money back with pics proved so I could reorder. Place closed and I dont have my $60 back. It was a birthday present for myself.

Pics of what the driver gave me and what my house looks like

I do not care the reason. Im not giving ID to order food. This is the stupidest thing ive seen.

Edit: since I keep getting this suggested, another app let me order the same thing from the same restaurant no issue. Ive also only disputed food received like 4 times over 4 years. That could be it, but thats still ridiculous.

Woke up to my brother knocking on my door about a letter that had been left in our door. It was from a very unhappy Uber delivery driver claiming that I reported food missing.

I do use Uber Eats to order food and stuff when I don’t feel like driving, but I’ve never been one of those people who lies about not getting an order. She even wrote “(female dog)” on my door in Sharpie. (I erased it before thinking to take a picture.)

Honestly, I was just thrown off and a little spooked… like, what the hell?

I do feel bad that someone apparently canceled on her, especially with her being pregnant and all. That sucks.

But hey lady, if you somehow see this — you’ve got the wrong door. 😂

What the heck do you do in this situation?

My delivery instructions said “NO KNOCK my dog is insane and my child is sleeping. Please do not knock.” I get a notification the order is at my doorstep, great. Then the doorbell rings FOUR TIMES before I get downstairs and the driver is smiling handing me the order when I open the door. I said you need to follow instructions. So ridiculous. Why set it down for the pic just to ring my doorbell more than thrice! “Leave at door” and my delivery instructions were not enough. My dog did go insane btw! 🥰
