General Discussion I find it interesting how Leia forgave her son for all the terrible things he did as "kylo ren" including killing Han but never forgave abakin until maybe the later time of her life for the things he did as darth vader

• Upvotes

I know at a point leia had given up hope for ben turning back to light but she never hated him or disliked him like she did with anakin. In bloodlines novels she already knows about anakin's background and his good deeds but still doesn't understand him and doesn't see him as her father and it's at the end of life that she comes to maybe forgive and accept him. Maybe it was because her first impression of her father was as vader

Meanwhile since she raised ben she has a much softer spot for him and can't bring herself to truly hate him even if he killed her husband and killed thousands of people

Games Anyone got the list of Huttese insults used in Episode 1 Racer?

I’ve been so into Galactic Racer I find myself repeating the banter I remember from the original game and I want to make sure I’m pronouncing it right lol.

so far I kinda remember something along the lines of “Mee-Ah-Ba-doosta” for something like “Nice Cropduster” and “Ee-matchi-malta-marnie wermo!” for something like “See you at the finish line dumbass” lol.

Games Starkiller has Darth Maul’s Lightsaber hilt? (Star Wars Force Unleashed)

Post image
2 Upvotes

Okay I’ve been racking my brain trying to make it make sense, but I don’t feel like it does so maybe you guys could explain it for me.

I’ve just bought the Star Wars Black Series: Lord Starkiller action figure (which is awesome, by the way) and he comes with six lightsaber hilts you can hang on his belt (pictured above). I’ve managed to identify them, to the best of my ability.

From left to right we have:
-Starkiller’s first saber hilt
-Lord Starkiller’s saber hilt
-Darth Vader’s saber hilt
-Rahm Kota’s saber hilt
-Kazdan Paratus’s saber hilt (not the whole pike tho)
-Half of Darth Maul’s saber hilt???

My question is: why would Starkiller have Maul’s hilt? The only explanation I’ve seen others give is that it’s from Proxy, but why would Proxy have Maul’s hilt? Proxy does simulate Maul at one point, but he also simulates Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon Jinn and various others. Are we to assume that he has all their hilts as well?

I’ve checked the actual in-game outfit as well and he has Maul’s hilt there as well.

It just doesn’t make sense to me. And, yes, I am very aware of the fact that I’m probably putting way too much thought and energy into this question. More than the people at LucasArts did, probably.

I guess what I’m looking for is someone to either give me a plausible reason for Starkiller to have Maul’s hilt, or just validate that it makes no sense.

General Discussion Will Rey's Jedi Order allow attachments this time?

Seeing as the old order failed Anakin & Padme, as well as Luke Skywalker's order failed, I hope Rey's new Jedi Order will allow attachments this time. And I mean love/romance!

For the new movie being Rey's new Jedi Order, look forward to the next generation outside of the Skywalkers. A fresh new cast.

As for the villain side? If Palpatine tries to return again, look forward to the birth of a new villain who intends to form a new faction of Jedi for the dark side to rise above the Sith.

Dude had his blaster aimed directly at Han from the moment they started talking, has apparently been a renowned enough Bounty Hunter to be working for Jabba since at least the Clone Wars, but still absolutely kriffs it when he shoots and misses Han so badly he doesn’t even have to move his head.

General Discussion Shouldn’t droids be hard for Jedi/Sith?

If Jedi/Sith can sense the next move sentient beings make, shouldn’t they have a harder time fighting droids since they’re not alive?

General Discussion Which Maul fight did you guys prefer: Against Darth Sidious on Mandalore? Or against Darth Vader on Janix?

Post image
17 Upvotes

Just re-watched both Clone Wars & Shadow Lord recently, and I think it's safe to say anytime Maul's in an animated fight? It's always done right. With these two definitely being the highlights if you ask me.

Now both are great in their own respective ways. Obviously, we knew from the start, Maul would never actually defeat either them. Still were pretty epic, especially with Maul's tag teaming with Savage & the Jedi respectively.

With the fight in Mandalore, it felt like someone who was going against someone not only more advanced, but just toying with his opponents. You can tell Sidious is literally having the time of his life- knowing he doesn't get to cut loose like that often and took every second of it.

However, with Vader? It didn't feel like they were going against an opponent, but a litteral force of nature. Like Maul, Devon, and Daki were punching against a hurricane. At least with Sidious it felt like it was just against someone far more advanced, but this? This was something else entirely.

Anyway, what do you guys think about these fights, and which do you prefer? Comment below & let me know.

General Discussion What is the most dragonlike being in the franchise?

Post image

I love all the fantastic animalia from Star Wars but I was wondering, which one is the most "dragonic" from all of them? For now I think that must be Varactyl because is just a gigant lizard.

I love it but wish we have something more draconic, maybe a gigant winged serpent or so. Is there something like that?

General Discussion the original trilogy made star wars tech feel real

rewatching the original trilogy with my kid, i noticed how often the ships and gear break down. han has to smack the falcon's dashboard, luke's landspeeder rattles and kicks up dust, and everything feels like it could fall apart at any moment

that roughness makes the galaxy feel lived-in. the newer movies look great, but their technology often feels too clean and reliable by comparison

anyone else notice this when rewatching the originals?

I wanted to share some artists whose work I love and wanted to ask of any others that you guys know of!

Art from photo: I met Mr. Dan (Instagram @mrdan1976) at his booth in Seattle’s Pike Place Market, and I was so excited to see such cool Star Wars pieces- Jawas, R2, ADMRIAL ACKBAR?!?! it was awesome

Cliff Wassmann (Instagram @studio_419) does Orange County, CA-specific Star Wars art- ITS SO EPIC I discovered him via the Sawdust Festival in Laguna

Durden (Instagram @durdenart) has a unique style, also discovered him at the Sawdust Festival.

What other artists have done cool Star Wars pieces?

I absolutely loved this game as a kid. It would be my introduction to Star Wars.

4 years ago I attempted to remake 1 of my favorite levels: Ord Mantell Junkyard with IG-88 boss fight in the old retro style just for Fun. Past holiday I revisited the project again and decided to record what I have so far.

It is meant as an homage to those awesome developers and actors who made such an amazing game.

Purely for hobby purposes and as a tribute. No commercial intent or file sharing whatsoever. If it violates anything I obviously will take this down.

General Discussion It's good to know that goats are still menaces, even in a galaxy far, far away. Also, thanks to Lucas, that's a fully functional hang glider and the ewok actor is actually piloting it in the film 'Caravan of Courage'

It's hilarious later in the scene where the trees keep magically switching between California Oaks and pine trees from shot to shot. Such a fun but campy film for Star Wars.

Games I accidentally hit a stormtrooper with my bike so they sent every scout trooper in the galaxy to take me down

unfortunately the stormtrooper hit happened a few minutes before this so I wasn’t able to screen record it, but I had the misfortune of this whole shebang taking place right next to an imperial garrison, but fortunately in Outlaws you can fight an entire goddam war on a garrison’s front door and they won’t do anything unless your in eyeshot.

General Discussion I don't see Palpatine's resurrection in ROS as that outlandish- here's my rationale + other insights about how the sequels actually work

Some may argue this was just a story Palpatine told Anakin to manipulate him into the dark side, but in ROTS he did talk about escaping death using the dark side. After all, he was Darth Plagueis' apprentice- this is the guy that could create life and cheat death. That moment, coupled with his famous line, "the dark side of the force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural", is justification enough for his coming back in ROS imo (and it was pretty sick when he reprised that line in ROS). He obviously was an extremely powerful sith, and I don't doubt that he could have learned ways to rematerialize post-death considering what is known about his character.

The part about Rey being his granddaughter also doesn't bother me- she's confused by her connection to the force, and its exemplification when she encounters Skywalker artifacts. It makes sense that a random girl on Jakku would be so powerful if she's a descendant of the one who managed to turn one of the best Jedi's to the dark side. And because of her grandfathers involvement with the Skywalkers, it makes sense that she would have a connection with them as well. She's troubled by the mystery of her parents - this could have been a manipulation tactic that Palpatine used in order to generate a weakness in her (one he needed to exploit in order for Siths to take control again).

Snoke was useless and I don't care ab him lol

Her relationship with Kylo and Kylo's whole character arc was awesome

If you look at the whole Skywalker saga as a whole, the parallels happening between the prequels and the sequels is pretty cool. It starts with very powerful good turning to evil, and ends with very powerful evil (descendant) turning to good. Both Anakin's and Reys stories involve "unnatural" uses of the force: Anakin conceived of the force, Rey's conquering of her resurrected grandfather.

Found in Attack of the Clones novelization. Seems like subtle foreshadow in a sense but the context of this: It is the Zam Wessell chase scene, so I know it's meant to be funny and for that.
