Drive the Trump-voter from society.
Thatās the only karma that matters. Trump himself is barely an actualized human being, and itās only really possibly to hate him in the abstract. Everyone who committed an act of Trump-vote (any number, any justification, any amount of enthusiasm) is far more evil than he is, and deserves far more karma backlash.
Drive. Them. Out. Without their bot army it should be relatively simply to get rid of the social media noise and see them plainly as āRussia if youāre listening votersā and know they are traitors and monsters.

Karma hasnāt been served until his name is wiped off any physical rememberance of him, and his name is attached to so much stigma even Hitler would consider himself lucky; sporting āMAGAā in public is worse than a swastika
the word ātrumpā, no matter the meaning, should taste like dogshit to anyone who speaks it - everyone, everywhere, for the next five generations

Every last fucking one of the dynasty, Fred Trumpās skeletal fucking nightmare on this country, dead and defeated and relegated to the most shameful annals of American History.

If Ukraine can knock Russia offline completely for about the next 25 months... they'd reap great rewards from a complete election cycle with no/less RU interference in US or EU elections.
10
u/VariationBusiness603 3h ago
The US is building datacenters en masse for that very purpose. Mass surveillance and mass media manipulation. Let's be honest here, the russians getting kicked out is great. But it's also signaling american oligarch that they have to expedite their plans a little faster.
Things are about to get much worse. And good luck getting rid of the datacenters on american soil; ukraine won't save us from that.

3
u/AcrobaticVegetable24 1h ago
I doubt it, Russia will just outsource the bots to other data centers overseas.
The good thing is that this sort of stuff is expensive. Expensive to set up, expensive to repair, expensive to rent overseas.
One of the interesting things is watching the Russian economy and how they are burning through it like no tomorrow. The more expensive everything is to do, the quicker the house of cards collapses.

14
u/GreyBoyTigger 5h ago
Itās a fascinating glimpse into the future of war. Instead of bases, the new target will be data centers that fight a non human proxy war much like Russia is doing to the US
3
u/VariationBusiness603 2h ago
Much like the US and Russia are doing to the rest of the world (and themselves)* more accurately.
The afd in Germany, the rn in France, reform in the UK, independantists in Canada are all supported by the Russian troll factory, with the support of the USA. If we get rid of the convenient russian bots, they will simply be replaced by american bots that are much harder to get rid of. That's partially what all those datacenters are for.
Don't get me wrong; the american people is a victim too, just like the rest of us. But the russian and american government are absolutely in bed and fighting against the working folks of the world at the behest of the capitalist class.
Those wars you speak of will not be countries vs countries as much as they will be the people vs their governments. And it will be very real people destroying datacenters. Ukrainians are just the first to do it.

Ive been convinced since 2020 that most of the "voices" on the right are fabrications. If you take a step back it is no different than the strategy they used on fox news. Just have a bunch of people say something (regardless of whether it's true or not) and you will automatically gain real people that repeat it.
This is how they manufacture consensus and populism on the right.

What I don't see anyone talking about is how we prevent bots from continuing to be such an issue. Yandex today, some other bad faith actor tomorrow: how do we shift back to human-only (or atleast 'human-mostly') interactions online? Politics aside, a lot of us have whined about the potential problems here for a long time - but the past few days are a great example of just how prolific the bot problem is. It's clear how harmful this stuff is.

Laws, regulation, enforcement, funding for non-profit platforms.
Social media companies can stop bots, but they don't because of money. The exception is X, which was bought by Musk for propaganda purposes so when it comes to X, it's not just about money, but also about propaganda.

Iāve thought about this a lot and I think a global Electronic ID would be a start. Very 1984 or whatever but having an E-ID would curb on the creation of said accounts because theyād be tied to a person (think Social security or its equivalent in other countries). Could bad actors like certain countries just create more?
Absolutely, but itās a resource theyād have to burn in order to do so since there would have to be a verification process if they wanted to create/issue more.
Weād also have to have global agreement on how to regulate social media companies while implementing this new program.
Unfortunately, it could also be used to squash dissent if a dictator comes into power, but my hope would be that bot farms would be so far removed weād be able to NOT have that happen
3
u/Terrible-Junket-3388 3h ago
I don't think you need a single unified 'new' ID. Passports, IDs, etc already exist and suffice, and IMO wouldn't be any more abusable than a new electronic system.
I also think, to your point about dictators, abuse, etc - there are ways to minimize that. I've seen a few projects (most notably recently, Adieuu - adieuu.com [i'm not affiliated, just a fan and it's relevant to this thread) that are building *around* the expectation of more jurisdictions requiring age verification. To that end, they've cryptographically separated your real info from your activity/messages (entirely different entities that can't be traced forwards or backwards to each other, even if DB is breached). In event of court order they'd only be able to hand over your 'account' info (which wouldn't even include ID data since they use a third-party to verify that discards immediately and never reports anything other than pass/fail to the service), for example.
To me this seems like best of all worlds: you could use that to add accountability and increase costs for bots (they'd constantly be banned and barrier to entry is new ID check + purchase new subscription, etc), and further ensure that nearly all conversation is verifably human. Even if a human chooses to 'use' a bot, you still know they're a unique user/human. I'd like to see more projects thinking about verification this way. How wonderful it would be for 'no bots' to again become a normal expectation in conversation!
As you said, a govt can just manufacture their own IDs/passports/e-ids/etc, but that's notably more involved than currently which is just 'make a new account'.
Again, not something I'd want to trust any of these larger corps with since they've proven they don't care, but some of these younger projects seem to have some real potential. TBD.
