Man, I wish.. I don't disagree with you at all, but at this point I am hopelessly addicted to being connected. I grew up in the 70s and 80s, so I remember the "before times".. would I go back knowing what I know now? In a heartbeat. But, I'm spoiled absolutely rotten by the convenience (and career) that technology has given me.
Start slow friend. I got rid of Facebook, then instagram, then snap chat, and Reddit is all I have. You will thank yourself for spending time doing other things, like learning how to garden, utility skills, things that will come in handy in the near future.
You can make it happen. Start small, with a book outside somewhere for 15mins, make it longer and longer.. no phones, no calls, no texts..
I spent 30 mins in the pool today just floating around looking at the leaves on the trees, the birds flying around, eyes closed for a little bit.. was amazing. I try to do this at least 1 time a day, not just the pool but at least 30 mins with no tech that can bother me near me. A bike ride with no music, etc. etc..
