The highest scoring game in football history was played between AS Adema and Stade Olympique de l'Emyrne in Toamasina, Madagascar.

On October 31st, 2002 the two sides faced each other in what looked to be a very competitive game, however as soon as the game kicked off,The players of Stade Olympique de l'Emyrne just kept sending the ball into their own net.

They kept doing this the full 90, averaging an own goal every 36 seconds

This was done in protest to a refereeing decision from a previous game that cost them the National Championship Title (essentially the league)

The players, coaches and various other staff members faced bans and punishments, with the coach getting a 3 year ban from the game itself.

The Malagasy Football Federation ended up annulling the result due it's obscene and illegitimate nature, and SOE ended up folding a few years later (they no longer exist I believe)

The game ended at an unbelievable 149-0 for AS Adema, creating a record that will most likely NEVER be beaten! Also, if you've come from r/whenthe, thanks for the support. It made my day
