Help What epi should I get?
Hi all! I’m a beginner spinner and am getting interested in working plant fibers as well. I’d love to experiment with different weaving styles and fiber types so I’m having trouble deciding what epi I should aim for in purchasing my first portable frame loom.
I’m very inspired by the artist Jessie Mordine who uses a 2 epi frame loom which allows for some really interesting and unique pieces but I’d also like to be able to lean into something like the lovely artwork in attached photo if I can, simple shapes. Since I’m getting into the world of spinning and playing with fibers, I’d like to have the flexibility to work with different sizes. I think I want to lean on the lower epi side but am just not knowledgeable enough to decide what would work best. Any advice?

Discussion Thoughts? Is it possible to use these for an 8-shaft pattern?
https://touchgrasstextiles.com/products/swatch-loom-refills
I found these really cool looking swatch cards and thought they would be great for sampling before warping my loom but thinking about it I’m not sure if they’ll be good for testing multi-shaft weaves
Thoughts? Do you think it’ll be a possibility to use these for multi-shaft weave structures or just tapestry/simple weave structures?
I also saw a Dundas portable loom for sale near me but don’t really have the space for a second loom so would prefer small swatch cards if it’s actually possible
Edit: below are some examples that they posted that make me think that it’s a possibility but I still want input from people, especially those who’ve used swatch cards like these or similar for their own sampling

Help Help understanding weave(s?)
Hello, I'm not sure this is the right place, but I'll try to explain, sorry if it's not.
I've been struggling to understand the weaving technique/pattern used for my shirt, which has an extremely pleasant feel that I haven't been able to find anywhere and, after analyzing it to identify it, I realized I can't seem to understand how it was made in the first place.
The exterior pattern seems to be alternating 3-1 and 1-1, but it doesn't end up diagonal, so it's not twill. The interior seems to be 2-1-1-2 which, however, doesn't seem to be compatible with the exterior. When touching the fabric it doesn't seem to be two different pieces of cloth, so I don't think it's double. I thought perhaps it was two sets of weft and one warp (if that even is possible) and tried drafting that, but those patterns don't seem compatible even if they shared the warp. Therefore I'm stuck. Is there something I'm missing? Is this even worth asking?
I'll post pictures of the exterior and interior and of my (admittedly poor) attempt to draft the patterns and the failed interaction between them. Again, I'm sorry if this is not the right place.

Tutorials and Resources Need pattern suggestions
I have a rigid heddle loom (Willowdale) and I've mastered (?) houndstooth and log cabin. Can anyone suggest a new pattern to try? FYI the works above are all using Yonkey Monkey cotton/bamboo yarn with 6.5 dent heddle. These are all dinner napkins which I'm making for Christmas and House Warming gifts.

Help Finishing help!
I'm a new weaver, and this scarf was my second project ever. I had some issues at the beginning, and now I have these loops at the edge from my weft turns. If they were more flush I wouldn't be too fussed, but they're big enough that I'm worried about them getting snagged.
The scarf is close to 7 feet long so I really don't want to hem the entire length - can I safely snip these edges to eliminate the loops? Or am I better off trying to stitch them down?

Other Dad made some band weaving swords in local maple and exotic red ironwood. The autumn leaves and warm sunlight created really cozy vibes that I tried to capture with some photos. I hope they brighten your day like they did mine. :)

Help Mounting work to canvas?
Hi folks!
Question.
Anyone mount their work to stretched canvasses? I have a fairly stretchy piece that is like to display in a tray frame... Something like this lovely piece is done by Rilla Marshall. I presume the best bet would be to buy a pre stretched canvas or make a canvas frame and mount it.
I'm having an awful time getting it stretched and attached to the frame without distorting it.
Any hints/suggestions/secrets?
