I need help with/using Soundcloud Is SoundCloud Amplify actually useful for smaller artists?

I’m starting to question whether SoundCloud Amplify is actually much use to smaller artists who are trying to build an audience.

I’m an Artist Pro subscriber. SoundCloud describes Amplify as recommending an eligible track to around 100 listeners matched to your sound, and if those listeners engage, the track can reach up to 1,000 more.

I understand the words “can reach.” I’m not saying SoundCloud guarantees every track another 1,000 listeners.

What frustrates me is what happens after those first ~100 listeners.

My latest track got 177 plays, 9 likes, 11 reposts and 6 comments in its first day. My previous track got around 250 plays, 15 likes and 13 reposts. Both got that initial activity and then seemed to hit a wall rather than progressing into anything resembling the larger Amplify push.

So I contacted SoundCloud support to find out what “if they engage” actually means.

After going around in circles, I was eventually told that SoundCloud doesn’t publish a specific engagement threshold for progressing beyond the initial Amplify stage. I also couldn’t get an answer about whether either of my tracks had actually entered the larger recommendation stage.

That leaves me wondering what I’m actually paying for.

SoundCloud says the top-performing eligible tracks can be recommended more broadly. But who are smaller artists competing against?

If I’m potentially competing against established artists with thousands of followers, large existing audiences and strong repost networks, how is a small account supposed to compete on raw engagement?

And if you’re already an established artist generating hundreds or thousands of plays through your existing audience, you arguably don’t need an initial push to ~100 listeners nearly as much as somebody who’s actually trying to build an audience.

Maybe SoundCloud accounts for this. Maybe it compares the response specifically from those ~100 recommended listeners, normalises engagement according to audience size, or uses other signals that give smaller artists a fair shot.

But that’s exactly the problem — SoundCloud doesn’t tell us.

Amplify sounds particularly attractive to smaller artists because we’re the ones who actually need help getting our music in front of new listeners. But if progression beyond ~100 is determined by an unpublished system where only the “top-performing” tracks move forward, I’d like considerably more transparency about what that actually means.

I work hard on my music and I’m actively trying to build a genuine following. I use RepostExchange, engage with other artists, participate in music communities and promote my tracks myself. Even doing all of that, I still find it incredibly difficult to gain genuine followers.

That’s one of the reasons a feature like Amplify appealed to me in the first place — getting my music in front of new listeners who are actually matched to the kind of music I make.

At the moment, the main Artist Pro feature I feel I’m getting genuine value from is being able to replace the audio on an existing track without losing its stats. If Amplify isn’t meaningfully increasing discovery, I’m struggling to see the value in the subscription for me.

So I’d particularly like to hear from smaller Artist Pro accounts, rather than people who already have massive followings:

Have you actually had Amplify take one of your tracks from the initial ~100-listener stage into the larger ~1,000 recommendation stage?

If so, roughly how many followers did you have at the time and what sort of engagement was the track getting?

And has anyone cancelled or downgraded Artist Pro because Amplify wasn’t providing the reach you expected?

Is soundcloud getting less traffic overall. Lately, If i don't post new songs l don't get any plays. On top of that when i do an amplify of a new song i get 170 plays the first day and then 2 plays per day every day after that. My channel has 15,010 plays overall since i opened the channel earlier this year.

I need help with/using Soundcloud Help please, I think I was attacked

This looks very sus to me. I went to bed and I woke up to this. One track that had just 1400 plays exploded to 42k, and two other tracks from 300 to 8k each. I think I was attacked deliberately by someone. What should I do? I do not think a person could listen to a track in 6 hours for 2k plus times...that's not possible...6 hours x60 mins that's 360 minutes divine it to 3 that's 120 plays...but 2k plays? Thats bot 200% . What dshould i do?

Edited:

I contacted support and got a very quick reply. Apparently I did get attacked by bots. They gave me advice what to do to mitigate the issue and now things are back to normal.

I dont know why people say SC does not reply, they answered me in max 20mins.

Most of the peps here is the chat we're quick to judge and say things like getting banned.

SC mentioned nothing about any bans, infact they were very helpful and supportive.

@soundcloud thanks for the help

I need help with/using Soundcloud App not working correctly

I'll start saying that my connection is just fine so it's not that.

It's been a few days since my soundcloud started going crazy: main page not loading, comments not loading (app even closes itself when I try to reload the page)and artist pages not loading. Even my own profile page does not load.

I don't know what's happening but this is starting to make me upset.

Does anyone have the same problem?

I need help with/using Soundcloud Never seen this before! Bots that fake being human in messaging on soundcloud.

To start with, I had no idea it was a bot then I just got ai to reply to ai saying to reply to waste their time, not actuaoly sure it is doing that though. SOundcloud is great but has to be teh least protected platform from markting spam. The AI agent communications are annoying on another level!

  • Hey, just listened to "Déjà Vu (Part 13)" and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. It has a really immersive, looping kind of feel that pulls you in and makes the whole track feel hypnotic from start to finish. Quick question: what inspired the idea or emotion behind this one? Great work, looking forward to hearing more from you.
  • Sent 1 day ago1 day ago Me Thanks, it was the chord progression I played, it just set me off, as things do, then I played in on my prophet 5 and programmed the sound for it and I was like, I like this it sets a mood.
  • That's really interesting. It's always cool hearing how a track can start from something as simple as a chord progression and then grow from there. I can definitely hear what you mean about it setting a mood. The atmosphere feels very natural, like everything grew around that original feeling. Thanks for sharing the story behind it, and keep up the great work.
  • How many years have you been doing music seriously?
  • Sent 1 day ago1 day ago Me I dont make any money out of music (next to impossible today - many years ago I did though) , except for selling my synthesiser sounds I designed which supports my music, but I have been making /playing music for decades.
  • That's impressive. Decades of experience definitely explains the sense of confidence and atmosphere in your music. It's also great that your sound design work helps support the creative side of things. Even if the industry has changed, it's clear you're still making music because you genuinely enjoy it, and I think that passion comes through in the tracks. Thanks for sharing a bit of your journey with me.
  • What's your biggest struggle right now?
  • Sent 1 day ago1 day ago Me Nothing really , happy doing what I do.
  • Wow that is great
  • I honestly think there are a lot of people out there who would connect with your music they just haven't come across it yet. Have you thought about any ways to help more listeners discover your work?

used ai against ai from here with prompt to waste its time>>>>

  • Sent 1 day ago1 day ago Me I think discoverability is the biggest challenge. The music world is flooded with content, and even great tracks can go unnoticed if they don’t reach the right audience. I’m focusing on building a catalogue and improving my promotion so the music has a better chance of finding the listeners who would genuinely connect with it. The difficult part isn’t making the music—it’s getting it in front of the right people.
  • That's really great to hear I actually know someone who works with artists and helps them grow their audience and engagement across different music platforms. If you're open to it, I'd be happy to connect you with them. No pressure at all I just think it could be a useful opportunity if you're interested. Would you like me to put you in touch?
  • Sent 4 hours ago4 hours ago Me Thanks for the offer. At the moment I’m still observing a number of variables relating to audience expansion, listener interaction patterns, and the general movement of things across various platforms. I’m not entirely sure where everything sits yet, and I find it useful to let a few more data points accumulate before introducing additional moving parts into the equation. For now I’m mostly watching, experimenting, adjusting, and then watching again to see what changes. It’s one of those situations where every answer seems to create two more questions, so I’m trying not to rush the process. I do appreciate the suggestion though, and it’s definitely something that exists within the field of possibilities as I continue navigating the ever-shifting landscape of digital music and whatever strange currents happen to be flowing through it this week.
  • I can see why you'd want to observe and experiment before making any big decisions. I appreciate you taking the time to explain your thinking, and I wish you the best as you continue navigating those strange digital currents.
  • Sent 1 hour ago1 hour ago Me Thank you. For now I’m content to stand knee-deep in the algorithmic fog with a notebook and a questionable compass, watching the data eels migrate. If I discover anything useful in the static, I’ll send a message in a bottle downstream.
  • That’s actually a great way to put it I like the mindset just observing and experimenting. If you ever find something interesting in the “static,” I’d be curious to hear it.
  • Sent 8 minutes ago8 minutes ago Me It's funny how the longer I stare into the static, the more I start wondering whether the static is staring back. At first it just looks like random noise, but then patterns begin to emerge, and then patterns emerge in the patterns, and before long you're trying to remember whether you discovered something or whether the static subtly convinced you that you did. For now I'm continuing with observation, occasional experimentation, and the occasional note scribbled down when something seems meaningful. Whether any of it is actually meaningful remains an open question. Sometimes the most interesting result is realizing that what seemed significant five minutes ago now appears completely unrelated to anything. If anything unusual drifts out of the noise field, survives a second inspection, and still looks interesting after a third, I'll be sure to report back from the frontier.

I need help with/using Soundcloud What’s more impressive: making one great song or finishing 100 average ones?

I’ve been thinking about this after building a pretty big catalog. Some people spend months perfecting one track. Others release constantly and improve through repetition. For me I release songs constantly. in 10 years of making music I have over 130 songs. Which approach do you think actually creates better artists in the long run?

I need help with/using Soundcloud SoundCloud for Artists suddenly reverted my earnings dashboard. ~$15.5k in reported earnings now inaccessible

Post image
17 Upvotes

I honestly don’t know what to do with this anymore, so I’m posting here to see if anyone else has experienced something similar.
I’m an independent artist using SoundCloud for Artists for distribution/royalties. I previously checked my earnings dashboard and it showed:
March 2026 — $9,588.22
April 2026 — $5,889.02
Total — $15,477.24
A huge portion of this came from TikTok royalties from one of my songs, with the dashboard specifically showing the streams and revenue attributed to the song/platform.
I screenshotted everything when I saw it because I knew it was a significant amount of money.
Now, when I try to access my earnings, the dashboard says:
“We couldn’t load your track earnings”
followed by:
“This is a temporary problem, not a change to your earnings. Please try again in a moment.”
At first I figured it was just a temporary technical issue. But now my Revenue page is also showing a generic “Make money from your music / Monetize your music” message, which is extremely concerning because I was already seeing substantial earnings in the account before this happened.
I haven’t intentionally stopped monetization or changed anything that should cause this.
I’m currently waiting on a payout of roughly $15k, and it’s already been around two weeks. I understand that royalties can have processing/payment delays, so I’m not saying SoundCloud has stolen anything or that the money is definitely gone. I just want an actual explanation of what’s happening to my account and my earnings.
I’ve contacted support because at this point I don’t feel comfortable simply waiting while the dashboard changes underneath me.
Has anyone else had their SoundCloud for Artists earnings/revenue dashboard suddenly revert like this? Especially anyone who had a substantial balance or payout pending?
I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has dealt with this before, particularly if your earnings disappeared from the dashboard temporarily and later came back / were paid.
I’m posting this because I’ve honestly gotten way too comfortable letting problems like this slide, and I don’t want to do that anymore. $15k is a serious amount of money to me, and I need to advocate for myself and get some clarity. Additional Media Attached in replies

I need help with/using Soundcloud Ariana Grande removed our original track from 2022...

Got this message a couple of days ago:

"Hi DraXilla,

We've received a report that your track "Brain Squeezer & DraXilla - Gloss" contains "VARIOUS UNRELEASED / UNAUTHORIZED TRACKS" by GRAND ARI INC. / ARIANA GRANDE®. As a result, your track has been removed from your profile for the time being."

We created the track in 2022 and released on Spotify/Apple Music and other platforms through Soundcloud for Artists in 2024...

This track was completely original with royalty free samples... 100% made from scratch. We spent a lot of time on it too... Kind of disapointing that we have the rights to the track and it got taken down 4 years later for no reason other than being "reported". Has anyone else gotten false reports like this?

I need help with/using Soundcloud Anyone else experiencing severe lag with comments loading and track switching on Soundcloud ?

Hey everyone, For the past few days, I’ve been running into two really frustrating bugs on the Android app: Comments not loading: When I try to open comments on a track, it just hangs on the loading screen endlessly or throws a "Please try again" error. Spamming retry sometimes works, but then the app crashes completely. Track playback delay: When switching to another track while one is already playing (especially in Liked Tracks), the new song takes several seconds to start playing. My internet connection (both Wi-Fi and 5G) is fine, and audio streaming itself works. I've already cleared the app cache, but the issues persist randomly (about 1 in 3 times). Is anyone else facing this on recent Android updates, or is it an API/server-side issue? Thanks!

I need help with/using Soundcloud SoundCloud flagged my music as AI again – immediately after my previous case was “solved”

Well… apparently this story wasn’t quite over yet.
Only a few days after my previous update, my very next release, “Rückfall,” was rejected for exactly the same reason: suspected generative AI content.
This was especially surprising because after the previous three releases were manually reviewed and approved, SoundCloud Support told me they didn’t anticipate this being an issue going forward.
I contacted AJ from SoundCloud Support again and explained that the exact same problem had immediately happened with my next original production.
AJ contacted the review team and “Rückfall” has now also been manually approved and is live. ✅
So the current result is:
FRACTURED HARMONY – approved after manual review ✅
Töten – approved ✅
Zwischen Musiktraum und Arbeitsleben – approved ✅
Rückfall – initially rejected as generative AI, then approved after manual review ✅
So that’s now 4 original releases affected by this situation and ultimately approved.
There is, however, an interesting new development.
SoundCloud Support has now recommended that I provide production documentation with all of my future distribution submissions to prevent these discrepancies.
I’m completely willing to provide proof that I produced my music myself, but I’m currently asking SoundCloud what exactly they expect as sufficient documentation.
Creating a full PDF for every single release containing FL Studio arrangement screenshots, Mixer channels, MIDI/Piano Roll, Project Info, plugins, etc. would obviously be a pretty excessive workflow just to distribute an original track.
I’ve therefore asked whether something simpler — for example one or two screenshots of the FL Studio project plus Project Info — would be sufficient for future releases.
I’m also trying to find out where exactly this documentation should be provided during the normal distribution submission process.
At least the good news:
“Rückfall” is live now. 🎉
And once again, AJ did get the release manually reviewed and approved, so I appreciate his help.
But clearly the underlying false-positive issue isn’t completely gone yet.
I’ll update this again when SoundCloud clarifies what documentation they expect from me for future releases.

I need help with/using Soundcloud Is there a "human" filter on Soundcloud?

It's been a long time since I've used Soundcloud, but found a few artists online that post on Soundcloud so I came back. Is there any filter that can brush away all the AI slop music? They are basically all the same, same voice, same sound, same variations...it's annoying and exhausting. Where are all the humans?

I need help with/using Soundcloud related tracks and stations all went bad overnight.

I spent so much time making my soundcloud a destination but I made the mistake of using a promo site recommended by soundcloud for promotion and I'm pretty sure it destroyed my related tracks and stations.

I used to be pooled into a good spot with nice sounding stuff, now I'm paired with tracks that have 50 plays, people singing tremendously off key. I also noticed when I used soundcloud distribution my related artists at Apple went from good sounding artists with productions rivaling or better than major labels, to straight up gutta gangsta rap where I'm probably skipped 90% of the time, if not it's terrible out of key singing, etc. I play alternative, natural acoustic leaning music with an electronic tinge of digital and analog synths. its been this way for an entire month. I really dont want to regret the past few months I spent warming up to this site and just close shop.

anyone know what really caused this if it wasn't repost? my listeners won't stay too. lol this is bad. something happened.

I need help with/using Soundcloud Ist SoundCloud pleite?

Hi, is there anyone here whose artist account was also suspended without any explanation? I was supposed to receive a payment of about €6,000, but at the very same moment, my artist account was blocked—has anyone had a similar experience? What can I do? No—I haven’t received any warnings regarding copyright or anything like that—and I don’t run any “bots” either... On top of that, support hasn’t responded in 7 days!

I switched to Firefox days ago due to bullshit DRM requirements and tracks not being able to be played on Firefox forks.

Now, SoundCloud barely loads pages. Track bar is always missing in artist pages until I refresh them many times. Some track pages won't fail to load, even if I refresh them or reopen in new tabs.

I’m bouta pull a traxnyc

I have been with SoundCloud before I was a Repost Network beta tester and am grandfathered in as a “legacy artist” and can distribute and use SC4A for free since I’ve been loyal for 15 years…

SOUNDCLOUD - PLEASE, PAY ME ALREADY. IVE BEEN TALKING TO YOUR DUMB AI SUPPORT AND AI EMAILS FOR 3 DAYS IN CIRCLES

HOLDING ALMOST $1000 FROM ME AND I HAVE BILLS TO PAY.

It says error when I go to my earnings page. It shows my August 2026 statement but I have no payout. Yes my email tax info and payout are all confirmed.

At this point, I don’t care if SoundCloud goes bankrupt. Your business model and customer service has gone in the dumpster fire.

SoundCloud sucks now — just pay me my damn money.

UPDATE : Sept. 3rd
I STILL HAVENT BEEN PAID.

I need help with/using Soundcloud SoundCloud for Artists is unbearable right now

I've been a SoundCloud Artist Pro subscriptor for a long time, and for a while I had no trouble... until this year.

First it started when I figured out that the YouTube claim thingy wasn't working, and every time I tried to see the claims of a song, it would give me an error that the "song didn't exist".

I contacted them MONTHS ago, and responded me that they "knew about the problem" and were "working to fix it", never heard from them again.

After a while SOME of the songs started to work, but many didn't, and I started to remove some claims for my own YouTube channel, thinking that was it...

Nope, the claims came back, same, as if I did nothing. Then I tried to make a counter claim from YouTube side, explaining I'M THE ARTIST, I even have an artist account, and it came back saying me that SoundCloud basically refused.

Then I went to do a whole takedown request for my music, to remove it from the YouTube Content ID system... just for after 2 to 3 weeks tell me that "they REJECTED" the takedown of my OWN music.

Do SoundCloud thinks that they OWN my music?

I'm looking for better alternatives to never use SoundCloud again.
