I need help with/using Soundcloud SoundCloud payment

Post image

I'm having a problem with SoundCloud: my account shows a balance, but the transfer to PayPal hasn't been made! All document verification steps are complete, yet the money still hasn't been sent.

Payments above $500, and $200 for new accounts, will be sent for manual review. If everything in your account is in order, the payment will reach your PayPal around the 4th of the month.

I wasn't aware of this manual verification, since my previous payments were under $500 and were processed on the same day. Thanks for the help, as SoundCloud support has been difficult to deal with.

hey bro, what do they do when they review the payment? i do song promotion, but its not licensed as labels wouldnt accept it, however i get permission from other artists to upload their song and soundcloud, and do a better split for them, as they dont have artist pro and i do, so if soundcloud looks at my account and sees me earnings about $1500 a month from other peoples songs, what will happen?

i meant to say "on soundcloud" not "and soundcloud"

In recent times I never saw anybody earning that much off of just soundcloud lol

SoundCloud is widely used in Brazil.

as a brazilian that uses english to make my music go wider around the world, i fell that i am doing something wrong now

Let me tell you that at least where I’m at soundcloud’s used primalry for some low quality demos, remixes or sometimes leaks of songs, deadass can’t even remember when I saw anybody using it as an serious streaming platform, rarely you’ll see somebody using it to listen to
Music on a daily basis, not just time by the time looking for some easter eggs. Focus on major platforms if u want to reach the most „sexy” regions with your music

i am at most of the streamings. i am distribute with distrokid, what helps me to reach wider, but soundcloud still my most listened streaming, so i try to reach more people for there and make them listen to me the better streaming for them. i always let my links and a linktree.

Try to get your music on spotify playlists, youtube playlists etc. from the regions you’re targeting. Those Distrokid playlists aint shit in my opinion tbh, u dont get too many listeners and they are pretty random, not really quality based so people dont care about them. And if you’re trying to make music in English, make sure your language skills are on the level that allows you to do so, cause it might be significantly harder to achieve something using broken English. But I think Portuguese speaking sector is so huge it has to be profitable if you’ll direct listeners to the platforms that pay proper money

i will try. dont really know how to get my music on playlist that fit on my music our something like that. and worry about my english — i not that good at — but my music is only instrumental, so nothing to worry lol

The easiest way is to search for some playlist with minor or major (but it might be tough to get there) popularity within your genre in the region/country u would like to sell your music to and contact their creators, sometimes they’ll want money, sometimes they’ll check the sound and decide by themselves, sometimes they’ll ghost u, but thats the easiest way. U can also make a playlist yourself and place your music in there, surrounding it by the most popular ones at the moment

Bot final boss

2

u/shiftyshoottah Jul 02 '26

Damn give me those bots then cause it has to be profitable with little to no effort

Yeah, who would've thought, huh? It's like lottery winners. Who has ever met one, or knows someone who has? Like a Unicorn egg. Very, very rare.

how are you making this many plays on soundcloud with almost nothing anywhere else? distributing elsewhere? or whats going on

On my Brazilian account—we use SoundCloud a lot here to listen to funk and trap music.

u/Zlaught Jul 02 '26

I thought my $25 was a lot 😂

Is it some fake streams stuff ???? Like how much streams you are getting???

5

u/Busy-Development7951 Jul 02 '26

around 3 million per month , SoundCloud is widely used in Brazil, so I can generate significant revenue from it.

5

u/shiftyshoottah Jul 02 '26

On the other hand, 700 bucks for 3 million streams sounds funny now, it’s basically nothing compared to the same amount of streams even on spotify, you should make a really good bag already

1

u/Sensitive-Culture240 Jul 02 '26

I hope it is original if they were bots SoundCloud can identify them and flag them.

2

u/Busy-Development7951 Jul 02 '26

They aren't bots; the only issue was the payment transfer that SoundCloud failed to send to PayPal this month. I discovered that the process undergoes a manual review once the $500 threshold is reached.

1

u/Sensitive-Culture240 Jul 02 '26

In past I had payout above 500$ it didn’t go through any any kind of manual review. Be careful is your account new ??

I created this account in 2024, but I only really started using it in January; this is my third payment.

u/Sensitive-Culture240 Jul 02 '26

How much did you made in last months ???

0

u/Busy-Development7951 Jul 02 '26

US$ 313 no total

1

u/Sensitive-Culture240 Jul 02 '26

If they don’t send it in by Friday then contact the support

u/Busy-Development7951 Jul 02 '26

Thank you; I appreciate the help.

Brazil is not among the monetised countries.

1

u/Busy-Development7951 Jul 02 '26

Right, so we lose 30% of the money to SoundCloud because we aren't in one of the countries SoundCloud partners with.

0

u/Important-Common-172 Jul 02 '26

It means streams from Brazil are not payable.

1

u/Busy-Development7951 Jul 02 '26

SoundCloud pays us normally here.

2

u/Important-Common-172 Jul 02 '26

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Finland, France, UK, USA, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Mexico, Norway, New Zealand, Portugal, and Sweden

1

u/Busy-Development7951 Jul 02 '26

For SoundCloud to pay us, we simply need to account for the 30% withholding on earnings in the W-8BEN form.

1

u/Important-Common-172 Jul 02 '26

Your streams should come from the countries I mentioned before. If your streams come from Brazil, there is no sc+/ads.

3

u/Big_Heron_256 Jul 02 '26

Fuck it imma start making brazilian music

3

u/RowIndependent3142 Freddy Funkker Jul 03 '26

Hope you collected your $0.14 from Apple Music because you ain’t gettin shit from SC, bro. lol. Report back tho

1

u/NeutronHopscotch Jul 02 '26

That's pretty awesome, congratulations. Although every time I see this I always think, "Well there's where my subscription dollars actually went."

I know Soundcloud has advertising and maybe subscription/ads are in two different buckets. But just like household finances, everything is ultimately commingled. Money is money.

I cringe a little with Soundclouds marketing: "Make Money. Get Paid."

I'd be willing to bet a TINY fraction of Soundcloud's paying members actually 'get paid', and an even tinier subset that get a nice payout like you got.

So that's awesome, well done. And I hope they come through on your payment. I'm sure they will, it probably just requires manual review to prevent the bot people from taking advantage of their system.

u/Busy-Development7951 Jul 02 '26

Thanks for the support; I'm a bit worried, but everything will work out.
