RJ Mitte (Walt Jr) has passed 😄

Wow, I was shocked to hear this. They are saying it was suicide. So sad. He was only 34 years old. RIP, Flynn ā¤ļø

I used to game with him playing Fortnite and warzone, he was active only a couple hours ago, crazy.

It’s scary how you don’t know what someone’s going through and how normal things can seem before it happens. The night before I lost my best friend he was having dinner with our buddy, laughing and joking like nothing was wrong in his life. You just never know.

A lot of people who take their life are happy right beforehand, as they've made the decision & I guess feel like a weight has lifted. Really sad.

153

u/Due_Air_7255 6h ago

I think that is definitely part of it but I also think the happiness before hand is a swing of the pendulum and later on that day/night the pendulum swings again and the low lows are when it occurs. Before my suicide attempt I was very happy that day and the day before and none of it was due to me thinking "haha im fixing to killmyself this is great."

•

u/Moth1016 5h ago

Ahh, see, for me it was like, I was miserable for months & months before I made the decision, and then the moment I made the decision, I was free. None of the things that I’d been worried/stressed about mattered anymore, none of my responsibilities weighed on me, and I was the happiest I’d ever been in my life. I pushed the date back 3x just to live in that bubble a little longer. Waited a whole week to actually make the attempt.

•

u/HectorVillanueva 5h ago

I’m glad you weren’t successful and I hope you’re doing better now.

•

u/Moth1016 2h ago

Thank you, I am!

•

u/ThinGrass3138 5h ago

It's crazy how we let things weigh on us to such a disproportionate degree that we let it take away all our happiness.

Maybe that's why as humans we love dogs, they just live freely then when they go they go.

•

u/HoustonIshn 2h ago

Ppl can’t control or assign happiness. No one ā€œletsā€ severe depression/illness/trauma happen to them

•

u/PearAmazing946 4h ago

I’m glad you’re here to share your story

•

u/wimbokcfa 4h ago

I’m struggling with the opposite. I think I have to do it tomorrow, there’s no more options for my PTSD and depression and I’m staring down losing my job, but I’m absolutely devastated for what I’m about to do to my friends and family

•

u/gatitamonster 4h ago

Please don’t.

•

u/wimbokcfa 4h ago

I really wish there were another way but I’ve been fighting so hard for literal years

•

u/gatitamonster 3h ago

Look, I have no magic words for you and I don’t know what it’s like to be in your head. All I can tell you from my own experience of being depressed and disabled and losing everything, including my job, apartment, and independence is that life still has things to offer you.

You know that you have friends and family who love you and would be devastated. Tell them what’s happening and what you’re considering. Don’t blindside them. It’s not fair and you should give them a chance to help.

Don’t make such a huge, irrevocable decision without dotting all the ā€œIā€s and crossing all the ā€œTā€s. Call these people too.

https://988lifeline.org

•

u/wimbokcfa 3h ago

I agree life does still have things to offer me, I’m just a piece of shit that can’t get my shit together enough to participate meaningfully and functionally. Including disability that’s now threatening my career. I think they know… they’ve seen me struggle for years and they’ve been there for me but there’s nothing anybody can do

Like the other commenter said, I’m not going to pretend I understand everything you’ve been through, I’m just some rando on the internet. But she’s right, please reach out to your loved ones before you do something that can’t be undone. If it’s too hard to talk to a loved one right now, talk to a stranger on the lifeline. Someone’s always there to listen.

•

u/Ashamed_Scallion_316 4h ago

Please give yourself another chance. You don’t have to face your problems alone.

•

u/wimbokcfa 3h ago

I’ve had many chances. I’ve been fighting for years. I’m so tired. And I’ve had help. It just… doesn’t help. Nothing does, not enough

•

u/AliciaMaeEmory 3h ago

Please don’t. Please reach out for help.

•

u/Kamikrazy 3h ago

Hey Wimbokcfa,

Please don't take your own life. I know you said below that you have been fighting your depression for years. You should be proud of yourself every day that you can make it through that fight. Your life is valuable; you have strengths, ideas, and courage that is meaningful.

I am going to send you a message tomorrow evening. I really hope I get to hear back from you.

•

u/Professional-Try731 2h ago

My other acct got auto banned for 3 days for ā€œinciting violenceā€ lol (just for discussing being suicidal). But thank you. I appreciate that. But also please don’t, it makes my heart hurt more to think of someone else waiting on a reply from me that won’t come

•

u/Kamikrazy 1h ago

Please reconsider. I'm just a stranger, if talking to me is awkward please reach out to family or friends. It is ok to reach out to loved ones and let them carry some of this burden with you. I promise you they would prefer that to you taking your own life.

Depression fucks with our brains so much, it sucks to deal with on top of all the other shit that life throws at us. Your depression is not you, there are so many valuable qualities that you bring to this world. Your brain is lying to you every time those negative thoughts start popping up.

You have to have such a strong work ethic to become a doctor. You should be proud of becoming a doctor. Losing your job is not the end of things. It is the beginning of new opportunities, whether it be in the same profession or not. That drive to become a doctor is who you are, not your depression. Your work ethic, empathy for others, and perseverance are who you are.

Please keep fighting, I sincerely hope to hear from you tomorrow. <3

•

u/Professional-Try731 31m ago

Okay, fuck, actually. I really didn’t expect this but something, somewhere, someone got to me… maybe all of it, I’m not sure. Somehow more people saw my comments than I expected. But I reflected on that I literally have a good friend’s wedding and my young nephew’s birthday party this weekend… and I haven’t seen my family in 2 years. Like what am I doing. I can’t do this right now. I can at least try hard for one more week or so. So, thank you, kind stranger for being part of this

•

u/Moth1016 1h ago

Devastating to hear, I’m so sorry. I know there’s likely nothing I can say or do as a stranger on the internet that might change your mind, but I sincerely hope you find another way. Have you seen an EMDR/brainspotting specialist? I, too, have severe treatment resistant PTSD and depression, and brainspotting in particular (EMDR as well, but to a slightly lesser extent) changed my life once I found the right practitioner.

•

u/SummitSloth 1h ago

Same, I will go with you. I can't handle this world and my thoughts keeping me up at nights

•

u/Successful-Ring-592 1h ago

Glad youre still here!

•

u/in5trum3ntal 26m ago

I’m sorry you went through any of that and hope you’re doing way better. I appreciate your transparency and descriptions, that can’t be easy.

It did kind of make me think that my adhd and keen procrastination skills may be keeping me alive though… I mean that in a light hearted way and in no way mean to joke about your experience.

•

u/PearAmazing946 4h ago

I’m glad you’re here to share your story

•

u/Solid-Technician6364 4h ago

I’ve had the same experience as well, going 100 to -100 in a short amount of time. Sometimes you have an extra good and happy day and you go home and the immediate absence of it has sent me down a lot. The extra good is dangerous for me cause it seems I need to only be a few steps above baseline for a fall to be fatal

•

u/mostly_pee 3h ago

Yeah. Something I've noticed is that when things have been going alright and you have a good day it can hit ten thousand times worse to get a mood slump later. Because you think to yourself "if I can have all this great stuff in my life and I still can't be happy, what's the point?" Whereas if you already feel kinda sucky what's another lonely sad evening, you just add it to the shit pile.

•

u/aeschenkarnos 3h ago edited 3h ago

I was talking to a guy a couple of weeks ago whose brother killed himself. They were in business together, skip bin hire. The guy I met did all the deliveries and pickups and dump runs and so on, and his brother managed the accounts and insurance and so forth. One man was out driving around in the fresh air and sunshine and the other was in the comfortable air conditioned office and both thought the other was happy. Only one was right.

After his brother passed away, friends and family gathered around to help and one of them was a cousin, an accountant. She offered to sort out the books.

Almost immediately after she started the job she told her cousin ā€œhe had been planning this for a long time, maybe a year.ā€ She had never seen a neater set of small business records. Everything was correct, filed in folders, etc. The surviving brother may or may not have been able to take the work on, but the man who passed left him the absolute minimum amount of difficulty for the next accountant.

That’s a sign, I think. A normally untidy, or ā€œeh, good enoughā€ type person suddenly becomes unbelievably organised.

•

u/peppaz 0m ago

idk if you guys remember reckful, but his suicide messed me up. And he was in a good and peaceful mood the day it happened, I think because he had made up his mind to do it.

17

u/tanz420 ahh...wire! 6h ago

Wait was it confirmed that he took his own life??

7

u/BillRagoRM 6h ago

Yes

8

u/tanz420 ahh...wire! 6h ago

Oh my god 😢

•

u/ThatIsMe11 14m ago

Why you just lying? It’s not been confirmed yet, only suggested

•

u/novemberqueen32 1m ago

Bryan Cranston confirmed it.

•

u/Lou-AC 26m ago

No. TMZ said theyre "told it was" by an unspecified source but no official statement made

"The Brownsville Police Department said no foul play was suspected and the investigation into his death was ongoing. Cameron County justice of the peace, Cyndi Hinojosa told the Associated Press that an autopsy would be performed." - that's what is official

TMZ has been known to publish lies/speculation. So probably a case of wait and see

38

u/harleyyquinade 6h ago

I read he was engaged, I feel so bad for his fiancee and his family, something must have sent him over the edge. RIP.

•

u/KayotiK82 4h ago

Supposedly his financial team screwed him over (to the point where all his BB earnings ws gone) and didn’t pay his taxes, stole money etc and he was in really bad with the IRS.

•

u/Experimental_Salad 21m ago

Fucking scumbag managers.

There's a weird irony here with the closing song "Baby Blue" being written by Pete Ham of Badfinger.

For those unfamiliar with the story, the band's manager, a scumbag named Stan Polley, completely ripped off the group. Pete Ham was completely broke, with a pregnant girlfriend, and he couldn't even afford to buy a crib for the baby.

He hanged himself in his garden. He named and blamed Stan Polley in his suicide note.

Several years later, Pete's song writing partner and band bass player, Tom Evans, who had been suffering depression ever since Pete's death, ended up taking his own life, as well.

Fucking scumbag managers.

•

u/MiscastBroadcast 43m ago

Doesn’t have to be something. He was diagnosed with cerebral palsy as a baby (3y.o I think). As a disabled person myself, 30+ years with a disability is tough, and perhaps it just got too much.

•

u/Born_Ad8420 4h ago

A cousin of mine spent the afternoon with a family
member the day before he ended things. I remember the family member telling me on the phone that night about their visit and that that he seemed calmer and happier than she had seen him in quite a while. She told me that she thought he was finally ā€œturning the corner.ā€

The next afternoon he was gone.

•

u/Fragrant_Lobster_917 3h ago

Life is uncomfortable. Death is comfortable. Once you've made up your mind to die, everything else doesn't matter. It's terrifyingly freeing.

131

u/Optimal-Promise-656 8h ago

Yeah. Messed me up mentally for a little while when I saw two people on separate occasions I knew the day they did it and the day before and I couldn’t tell at all with either before it happened

96

u/ThrowAwayTau 6h ago

Depression wears you down. You want to escape it. And you do, by having a good night out with friends or playing a game that gets you there. You might have even had one of the best times in what feels like forever. But you know, this reprieve from the burden of depression will also end. The reprieve always ends. The darkness is going to grab you like it always does. The darkness is relentless. No matter how many times you get away, depression gets you again. And again. And again. You're tired. You don't want depression to control your life. So you won't. You can get away, for good, and end the back and forth. You will bask in the recent memory of your friends, your laughs, and your smiles. That is what you think, right to the very end.

32

u/braddaugherty8 6h ago

A very accurate description of a terrible, terrible disease.

The most accurate analogy I've ever read was this one that compares it to shoveling snow.

It's something I wish everybody could read, and gain even an ounce of perspective.

•

u/vavavoomdaroom 2h ago

Hyperbole and a Half has several excellent blogs about her experiences with severe depression. They are raw, beautiful, heartbreaking and hilarious.

Thank you for writing this - beautiful and achingly sad.

•

u/Mexican_Fence_Hopper 5h ago

This is my experience with it, it always come back but I have to force myself to think about the moments that make life worth it and then I remember that depression will also pass like the beautiful moments.

I have had two attempts in my life, and each time there was a mixed feeling when I failed. Shame, guilt of hurting my loved ones, failure, but finally a second chance to just continue.

Rest in peace Junior ā¤ļø

5

u/dontshoveit 6h ago

Well said. You captured that relentless cycle and the exhaustion of it all so accurately.

4

u/1q3er5 6h ago

wasn't he engaged??? man this is such a bummer. he was a fighter

33

u/Gibson129 7h ago

It really is mind blowing. Had a friend take his life in august. Talked to him the day before and he seemed perfectly fine. Really wish I had known and was able to say something.

3

u/harleyyquinade 6h ago

Sorry for your loss, don't feel guilty, you had no way of knowing, that's the thing about suicidal people, they are the ones that seem the happiest and you just can't tell because they are pretending to be okay.

•

u/saltybehemoth 5h ago

And, I don’t mean to be heartless to people having a thought of ā€œif only I would’ve known!!!ā€, but most people who go through with it aren’t one heartfelt conversation from turning a corner.

•

u/AddMeOnBeboPls 4h ago

If someone you know is depressed and appears to be really happy and energetic all of a sudden it CAN also be a sign that they have a plan in place.

•

u/wimbokcfa 4h ago

I’m not sure if it helps, but most likely he did not want you to know at the end

A lot of people don't understand how impulsive suicidal behavior can be. Not everybody who ends their life planned it ahead of time. Like the rest of us they wake up in the morning not knowing that today will be their last.

It's extremely tragic. Talk to those around you who are struggling. You never know what might keep somebody from falling off the ledge.

46

u/California_Stop_King "That's what the kids call 'epic fail'" 7h ago

The statistics on how many suicides are seemingly devoid of any kind of premeditation are sobering. You'll never go from happy to suicidal in a flash, but you can go from depressed to suicidal very quickly.

Reach out to anyone you know that's struggling, and reach out to the men in your life even if you don't think they are. Men especially are prone to fighting that battle alone

•

u/walkTHEdotasaur 5h ago

very well put.

Only reason I won't own a gun. Because I know what I'd do with it one day.

7

u/annoyingashe 6h ago

I've heard that something like 80% of suicides occur within 5 minutes of making the decision to do it. People think of it as something that one decides over a long period of time when it is in fact usually incredibly impulsive

•

u/WhyAreYouDoingThat69 3h ago

That’s why nobody should own a gun

I saw it last Sunday. It was entertaining.

3

u/MathsNerd1996 7h ago

I really hope his family are ok :(

•

u/qorbexl 5h ago

How could they possibly be okay?

2

u/Predictable-human 6h ago

What's his most recent story? I can't see it, since I don't have a subscription.

But holy shit, this took me by a surprise. Breaking Bad is my all time favorite show, and I loved all the characters so much - it was the show that got me hooked on the "new" types of TV shows. Seeing that one of the youngest ones of the cast has passed, is so damn sad. Especially if it's by suicide due to mental struggles, since I can relate to that.

RIP RJ :( The show will hit way different on my next watch.

146

u/nerdforest 8h ago

This is heartbreaking. I feel for all those who knew him. And those struggling today. Seeing news like this can be a lot for so many when it’s suicide.

Please be kind to yourselves and others today people. You never know who is struggling.

•

u/wimbokcfa 4h ago

This has definitely been a little bit weird for me. I’m trying to decide what time tomorrow I do it… and this felt like a gut punch for some reason? I’m not sure why it even matters but it was almost a reminder that yes, people do this every day

117

u/Ninofalls 8h ago

A couple hours ago??? Omg

59

u/No-Category-6343 8h ago

Holy shit. Fuck TMZ

60

u/GranderArchives 8h ago

So, RJ has been deceased for a couple hours and instead of waiting to let the family process it, TMZ just rushed to report it? Little fuckers.

15

u/ahoneybadger3 7h ago

It's not just TMZ reporting. BBC also have it on their front page.

Albeit the BBC have refrained from stating the cause.

4

u/Rhain1999 7h ago

TMZ broke the story, though, which is what makes them the biggest vultures

There's no real point in outlets like BBC refraining from reporting it at that point

2

u/MotherDucker95 6h ago

Not to sound callous, but if they got the news first they would.

4

u/Rhain1999 6h ago

Maybe. I assume most reputable outlets would have waited for word from the representatives, though, which is what separates them from TMZ. I don't think the BBC are champing at the bit to report on a young actor's suicide without confirmation

2

u/spacebalti 6h ago

Why would you think that BBC would wait until an official representative announcement?

•

u/Rhain1999 5h ago

Because that's what happened today—their article on RJ Mitte's death was only published after his representative responded to them. They're not a gossip site and don't rush to report on celebrity news like this; they require two independent, verified sources for these stories

→ More replies (0)

•

u/Lou-AC 23m ago

They don't until the family definitely know and they don't publish speculation on causes like TMZ have done. They stick to facts announced by family or authorities

1

u/No_Let_4159 7h ago

They've even got a false picture of RJ on their page

•

u/Lou-AC 24m ago

And TMZ are the only source mentioning suicide and are saying they were told it was by an unspecified official. They've got things wrong before but because they got there first people remember their version

0

u/Raneynickelfire 6h ago

BBC, CBS, ABC, CNN...wanna bitch about them all because you didn't get a personal phone call?

2

u/GranderArchives 6h ago

I loved the guy but I'm not the first person to contact because I didn't know him. What are you on about?

39

u/HypocriteHere 8h ago

This is the correct response. TMZ is trash made for garbage people. Everyone clicking their links supports all the horrific shit they've done.

•

u/jarunok 5h ago

True, and also fuck the person or people who may have tipped TMZ off for a quick buck instead of giving friends and family time to find out in a more compassionate way.

4

u/pancada_ 8h ago

How long after someone has passed away makes it acceptable to report on it, according to u/No-Category-6343?

11

u/christpuncher_69 7h ago

Probably no sooner than his family would be ready to disclose it, would be a start. Now bearing that in mind, do you think they learned that he passed and immediately went "We need to make sure the world knows!" ?

•

u/pancada_ 5h ago

Does it matter if they did it for altruistic reasons? This is literally how news work

•

u/christpuncher_69 5h ago

šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

When I say "they" I mean his family. Did they find out their son was dead and think within a matter of hours it was best for it to be everyone else's business? It's not unheard of to make an announcement soon after but with TMZ that's often not the case. They've repeatedly broken news of notable deaths before family is ready to go public, including times where family found out from the news (I believe Kobe Bryant and his daughter was such a case) all because TMZ and similar outlets want to cash in on the tragedy.

Even if it is "how the news works" maybe the question is should it be? Or would the courteous and ethical thing be to let these families grieve and think about allowing the world to grieve with them on their own timeline without pressure?

200

u/Key-Bass-7380 8h ago

You mean, he was GAMING a couple of hours ago?!

208

u/RomanToTheOG 8h ago

Battlestar Galactica has one of the best depictions of suicide that I've ever seen, and it really put me in perspective how a suicidal person could be trying to find some last few moments of joy to die with it. It's long gone, the decision is made, but let me have some good beforehand. It's really sad and touching.

117

u/Cainedbutable 7h ago

Someone in our friend group commited suicide a decade or so ago. The people close to him commented how happy he was on the day he did it. He saw family, ran a bath, played computer games, then did the deed. It almost felt like once he'd made the decision that today was the day, a big weight was lifted off his shoulders.

34

u/witch--king 7h ago

Yup. A friend of mine in high school was all laughter and smiles and then a few hours later he was gone. It was awful…

54

u/uglyheadink 6h ago edited 5h ago

Someone with mental health issues having a sudden and unexplained swell of happiness (when that is not normal for their baseline) is one of the biggest warning signs I was taught.

For anyone else who may be unawares, other things to look out for that aren't really talked about:

  • Giving away or discarding things they cared for before. (I.e., books, hobby supplies, treasured collections, etc.)

  • Suddenly cleaning their home/room/whatever, getting things "in order".

  • Being reckless, socially or physically. Socially could also be just bringing up things from the past, or trying to settle old issues.

Of course everyone is different, but if you know someone who struggles or has struggled with their mental health, it never hurts to know things that could be signs.

•

u/Super_Harsh 5h ago

Yes. I had a friend who took his own life after being severely depressed for about two years and in the month leading up to it everyone thought he was recovering and getting to a better place. Jesus

3

u/Kickedbyagiraffe 6h ago

Same with someone I knew. Others commented on how he seemed happier that day

1

u/flashman 6h ago

this and other similar comments in this thread are mildly irresponsible because they can convince suicidal people that they'll feel better once they commit to killing themselves

7

u/DShepard 6h ago

It would be irresponsible not to comment, when sudden abnormal happiness in a clinically depressed person is a giant red flag that they have made the choice to end their life - something most people would likely want to know if they have a loved one that suffers from depression.

13

u/theHrayX Mr. fring 8h ago

i can relate, battled sucideal thoughts before

3

u/ShiplessOcean 7h ago

Yeah. It’s weird how even if you have chosen a day to commit, you still have to get dressed that day, eat food, maybe go to work, clearly play video games in RJ’s case

3

u/Comfortable-Face-244 6h ago

I had an acquaintance that messaged me like a lot more than usual one night. I was busy playing SC2 ladder matches and I didn't have much time to play at night because I had a job and two young kids, so I just went through the pleasantries. Just basic how are you and shit, didn't dig in to see why she might be messaging. Offline for 15 years now.

2

u/delicious_toothbrush 7h ago

•

u/Renovatio_ 5h ago

God damn thats a deep cut from season 4.

I thought they were just trying to get rid of her character before the finale not make a statement.

•

u/BadBalloons 3h ago

For a deeper cut, I still remember the first ad when they went to commercial after that scene was for Campbell's tomato soup, which iirc had some red soup splashing visuals.

But no, I'm pretty sure they were trying to make a point about the nature of despair and how the happiest people can be hiding a lot of deep pain. I was upset as hell because it was so shocking, but I understood why they did it and why they didn't use another character.

•

u/m3ngnificient 5h ago

My uncle did this a few decades ago. He's always been reclusive and hardly spoke with anyone but the day or two before he took his own life, people mentioned he was out and about, talking to everyone in the family and neighbors and cracking jokes.

Definitely within the last 12-16 hours

One of the friends I lost to suicide was at the club with me the night before having a fantastic time with his friends. He never once showed any sign that suicide was possible… fucked me up for years seeing how happy he was in my memory not knowing he was struggling. Now I check in with EVERYONE all the time because I don’t think I can handle another one like that.

You know nothing. It may have been impulsive.

3

u/Anomuumi 7h ago

Many suicide survivors say that the decision came an hour or even minutes before the attempt. Serious attempts usually have very little time between the decision and the attempt.

I just finished watching my yearly breaking bad watch last night before bed. That scene of him yelling at Walt in the second last episode always made me shiver and I had learnt that he got screwed out of his BB money, so was gonna look up what he was up to in the morning. RIP RJ šŸ˜”

•

u/PaidByTheNotes 5h ago

What happened with his BB money?

•

u/Luv_Life 4h ago

I’m also doing my annual rewatch. Was selfishly thinking why haven’t they made a follow on show to BB focused on what happened to Walt’s family after his demise. RIP RJ Mitte, such a fine actor.

Damn that's such a sad picture, gaming just hours before taking your own life. Sorry man.

u/knvanand 8h ago

He committed suicide? I couldn’t find a cause of death reported anywhere

19

u/Ra3den21 8h ago edited 7h ago

TMZ quoted an anonymous county official and the entire sub is just running with it. This is way too early to be saying this sort of stuff. The body is barely cold and won't have even been properly examined yet and already I see him being called the next Robin Williams.

20

u/ugluk-the-uruk 7h ago

TMZ sucks ass for a lot of reasons but unfortunately they are almost always correct in celebrity causes of death

8

u/tawondasmooth 6h ago

They get Robin Williams so wrong, over and over again. Yeah, he had depression at points, but it was one of the worst cases of Lewy Body ever seen by the examiner at autopsy that caused him to do it. It doesn’t matter how many times the family tries to bring attention to it, either.

6

u/dannyboy6657 7h ago

Its not officially reported yet. I'm gonna wait till they decide to come out with it. Its the families business.

•

u/MeadowmuffinReborn 3h ago

Hope his gaming friends are OK right now.

7

u/higuysineedhelp 8h ago

I mean, you never know. No harm in believing than in not believing, and any one of those you pick are equally valid, is how I see it. He must've been great to play games with. RIP RJ Mitte

-2

u/David_Richardson 6h ago

Sorry, you’re saying there is no harm in believing anything you are told without any kind of supporting evidence?

•

u/higuysineedhelp 4h ago

Dude, it was just a guy saying he played a couple of games with RJ Mitte himself. That's why I said it's okay to believe it, because it wouldn't harm if it wasn't true.

5

u/damus9 8h ago

Look at how many people believe it's true

6

u/OkSwimming517 7h ago

What reason is there to believe it's a lie? It's pretty mundane information.

2

u/RetroPRO 7h ago

Yeah whether its true or not changes absolutely nothing. This is a pretty low stakes comment to be putting it under the microscope.

•

u/Strange_Lab_283 5h ago

RJ mitte gaming videos were a relatively popular meme

I know when an ex-UFC champion is online because I used to play PUBG with him (Jens Pulver, amazing guy).

They are normal people with hobbies, it can be totally true.

1

u/ChornobylChili 7h ago

Played Battlefield 2 with Robin Williams once.
He sniped me

u/Supercows22 5h ago

Came across Jens in WoW randomly one night many years ago. Just thought it was another fan who named his char LilEvil. I am/was a huge a Jens fan so it was pretty surreal.

2

u/maxnotcharles Just because you killed Jesse James dont make you Jesse James 8h ago

This was a close friend of mine that passed away from an overdose 2 years ago. Seeing him active a couple hours ago when I heard the news was absolutely surreal.

RJ Mitte played the role of Walter Jr. like no other and the circumstances of his death really makes me sad. May this man rest in peace šŸ–¤šŸ•Šļø

2

u/cocoagiant 7h ago

Unfortunately, suicidal ideation and actively working towards it can happen very quickly.

That's why good crisis intervention is very important, as is further care coordination to help that person address underlying issues which contributed to the ideation.

2

u/xala123 6h ago

I've worked in mental health for over a decade. Usually the decision is made in under an hour. Of course there is a build up of stress over time but attempts tend to happen impulsively. Absolutely heartbreaking regardless of how he went though šŸ’”

2

u/wooshiesaurus 7h ago

Man, that adds even more to this situation. You mean, he was there like a few hours ago and now he's just gone? Hits hard.

1

u/macchiato_kubideh 8h ago

You’re kidding!! Fuck me

u/OldAccountlost7 7h ago

😭 this is heartbreaking. I wish knowing they were loved was enough to make people not want to give up.

1

u/Dry_Dragonfruit3205 6h ago

that's a lot cooler than the one time i played cod on 360 with a guitarist from the red jumpsuit apparatus

1

u/Ranma006 6h ago

Wow! How did you come across him to be playing with him?

1

u/DeliciousBarbz837 6h ago

This is breaking my heart even more oh goodness šŸ’”šŸ’”šŸ’”

1

u/Glittering-Sun-2592 6h ago

As far as I know, no official release on the cause of death. Many celebrities have gone by their own hand but accidently, something along the lines of taking a relaxant drug and falling asleep in the bath as an example...The sub seems to have run with the TMZ rumour but I think we really just don't know. šŸ˜•

Either way this a terrible tragedy and I feel for him, his friends, and family.

•

u/VectorJones 5h ago

The thoughts and feelings that send someone spiraling into suicidal contemplation can come on in a very short amount of time, and require an enormous mental effort to overcome. Sometimes that effort is just too much to ask, especially if one has been fighting them off for a prolonged amount of time.

•

u/WolWolW 3h ago

Fuckin hell mate šŸ˜ž....

•

u/Suspicious-Wind-3278 2h ago

things like this make you think... was spmepne gambling their life on a game? were they in so much despair that they were superstitious enough that they may have felt like "if I lose too much, this is a sign?" not speculating on his circumstances, just curious if that's ever a thing for suicides, as someone who's dealt with thoughts like that before but never been too in deep to commit to it, I wonder if it ever comes down to the small things like that that may make someone feel like that's the only answer they need

1

u/Smooth_Storm_9698 8h ago

This broke me

0

u/BowsersMuskyBallsack 6h ago

It only takes that one moment, that one intrusive thought at the wrong time when everything just falls into place to make you go through with it, a standing wave of multiple factors that all just come together to bottom out at the wrong time. I've been close to that moment.

u/spacecowboy5120 5h ago
