USA Deliveries delivered in random order...
Tonight when we ordered our dinner we could see the delivery driver on the main road to our house (1/2 mile away if that), made a U turn and the app changed from 'your the next stop' to the driver has another stop. We watched the driver go in the complete opposite direction, 15 mins away, from our house. Why was he not able to drop off the order when he was already so close to our home? I used to drive for Uber years ago and have had this happen to me when I was delivering food. It's such a waste of time and gas. I stopped working for Uber and worked for the competition doing rides. My question is why does Uber do this to their delivery drivers and customers?

The app doesn't let them reorder rides or orders (as in the order they get dropped off in).
If you have another option, the driver can deliver in the order that makes most sense (if they care). If you have Amazon Prime, use Grubhub.

Crazy, never knew Amazon prime has anything to do with GrubHub and was wondering why anyone even uses GrubHub when Uber Eats and DoorDash is so big. Do Prime users get free perks with GrubHub?

Yes, if you have Amazon Prime, you get free Grubhub membership. It’s the only reason I’ve ever used it like you said … I have no idea who’s delivering for it because I’ve never been able to get my foot in the door lol but you should be able to find it in your Amazon account or maybe you open up the Grubhub app and link it that way I don’t remember. It’s been a long time since I connected mine. I still don’t use it because they don’t ever offer the discounts which is pretty much the only reason I ever use DD or UE

Then you should already know the answers to your questions.
Drivers are out here to make money.
If an add-on Request is accepted, and they paid for Priority Delivery, then they get delivered first. If they ordered first, they may also be delivered first.
Uber controls the Dispatch order.

I thought priority didn't factor in , and that's why there is a class action ; that UE doesnt even tell the driver an order is priority.

UE doesn’t tell us if it’s priority, which is insane, but supposedly the algorithm figures it in in telling you what to do as a driver.

Driver received an add-on and thought that they could do it after dropoff as the next offer. But smart drivers would be able to tell the difference between an add-on vs next offer, newer drivers or ones that don't pay attention to the + will fall for this trap.

Or it’s not a trap and the other offer was really good and we’re out here to make money. Plus if you accept multiple orders, you’re protected from bad ratings. I’d like to say I care about getting people’s food hot to them and I would prefer if they didn’t do this but given a choice between making extra money and getting someone’s food there hot I’m gonna choose the money every time. Granted, most of the add-ons are crap, but not always.

Question: Why does Uber offer an add on when the driver is on his way to your home to drop your order off?
Answer: It's because they have figured out how to maximize their profits by doing it this way with little to no concern for YOU the customer.
Sounds raw but that's how it is. I get offers like these.
Sadly, out of the main 3 (DoorDash, Grubhub and UberEats), Uber is the only one that doesn't allow the driver to reorder the pickups/dropoffs.
