I would say he is more of an Edison: stealing all the inventions his workers come up with and claiming to be a genius who single handedly invented all of it.

not once did Edison say he wanted to break into the "government" industry and say it was unfair the only way for an "entrepeneur" to "break in" is through a war, election, or revolution.
thats why tech bros want "freedom cities" for "disrupt" the "government" "industry"
Edison wasnt this stupid. Elon Musk is NEXT LEVEL stupidity and so is all the other tech bros who say this shit.

As someone with experience in programming, physics, and mathematics, some of the statements he’s made about his participation in his own companies are baffling. I know he tries to sound like he knows what he’s talking about in public, but I can’t even fathom why he would say what he does to people who know what they’re doing. Each and every one of them have to know he’s utterly full of shit.
6
u/fafalone Aug 15 '26
I never thought he was a genius, but for me, as a programmer, he hit 'dumb as a box of rocks' for me when he took over Twitter and asked all the developers for a screenshot of their best code in order to evaluate them.
For the non-programmers out there, that's exactly as it sounds... like judging the work of novelists by asking them for a picture of a random paragraph in one of their books.

Those leaked Twitter meeting calls shortly after he bought it were amazing - he was essentially saying "let's rip out all these server appliances until we hit something critical" and calling for pretty much the entire tech stack to be re-done and the senior engineers called him straight out on his bullshit.

around Trump part 1, 2016 there was a window where he did seem like a relatively normal only mildly weird guy who was at least smart and level headed enough not turn into a fuckin alt-right nazi, but boy did that last
Same thing with J.K. Rowling, writes this huge story that's an obvious allegory against the nazis and then ends up basically siding with the people who think the nazis were onto something or are nazis.
I think Elon's always been a piece of shit bull conman loser, he just had a PR team that kept him in check for a long time.
I think J.K. Rowling's brain has melted from the internet and all the money and her being high on her own farts all the time has made her senile and weird and mean. Her abusive ex husband who would physically threaten her and her most prized possessions didn't help either.

Imagine someone in a regular job doing the type of nonsense that they do, it’s unimaginable. They would be fired, in Trump’s case he would be an absolute nightmare to work with, on top of being childish he’s a sociopath. They would be changed if they were in a normal work environment but not completely. Trump didn’t even have the attention span to sit down and explain his life to the guy that wrote his book, that’s why he had to be followed around. He doesn’t have the attention span to read, that’s why he just watches TV all the time and doesn’t understand concepts in depth.
His parents completely fucked him up, you can see how absolutely desperate he is for attention and approval and how full of vitriol he is when people don’t do what he wants. Like an elementary school bully.

Elon is a pathological liar and narcissist and his employees have to walk on eggshells around him. That by itself is unintelligent. It's really that he's not that special. He half got lucky, starting with his massive Paypal stock payout that he was able to use to buy Tesla, after he got kicked out of Paypal for being a dummy. Was starting a rocket company intelligent, sure. Is a lot of what he says, no. But let's be real, the intelligent people doing the actual work are his engineers and scientists.
