It's crazy how PayPal is the origin of both of those evil fuckers. Both trying to turn the US into a fascist dystopia for their own personal gain.

That's just 2 of them. They weren't called the PayPal mafia for nothing. Reid Hoffman-Linkin. Max Levchin-Affirm. Jeremy Stoppelman-Yelp. David Sacks-Yammer. All great companies known for their ethics...

It has only ever been successful as an extortion racket operating right out in the open.

And if they had information wrong on their platform good luck ever speaking to or hearing from a human. Just an utter black hole for accountability or civic mindedness or ethics apparently. Somewhere along the way people decided morals and ethics were optional or suboptimal.

So they are running the entire world into the ground tripping over themselves to outdo eachother with the seven deadly sins.

I blame McKinsey MBA consultants

Ding ding ding

The concept of super executives started with them

“Do you know how important you are?”

“No, here, take this 250k and tell the shareholders how important I am”

lol $250k? Try $12.5M. $250k is prolly the initial consultation

Harvard mba consultants would like a word

They are the same people

I had the misfortune of working closely with McKinsey and they just use these cringe business lingo in every sentence, “let’s take care of our garden” and shit like that and make up numbers on made up charts to make it seem like they are doing something.

The roses aren’t going to paint themselves

This is all consultants. They're just there to tell the bosses what they want to hear, with fancy slides and spreadsheets you paid 6 figures for and will never look at again.

It's all one big circle jerk, but when the economy basically runs on bullshit stacked on bullshit, whaddayagonnado?

Consultants generally used to exist for the purpose of providing a fall guy for the C-suite to do things they already wanted to do under the guise of it being a recommendation from a consultancy firm so that if something went wrong they could blame the firm for the problem with their shareholders.

I always wondered why someone would pay recent business school grads to tell them how to run their business until someone in the industry explained this to me.

At some point it has to run on bullshit because the alternative is fucked

I blame Thatcher and Reagan and Bush. Fully evil people, removing all economic checks and balances, and most labour protection, especially unions.

Prior to that, you can blame Bernade Mandeville and everything he wrote on wages in 1705 - 1720. That has screwed us since the UK industrial revolution.

You mean kids fresh out of some university, paid vast amounts of money to act like they have more experience than people who have been successfully running businesses for years? And the con is the clients believe them and act on those dumb ideas.

2

u/TeaKingMac Aug 15 '26

The con is the clients are already planning those ideas themselves, and they use the approval of the consultants as cover for their terrible decisions

1

u/Pentaborane- Aug 16 '26

That’s a bingo! The c-suite needs a fall guy for the shareholders in case things go south.

Was McKinsey around during the gilded age? Or did they edit Atlas Shrugged? Put all three in the pot. American business has long rewarded asshole culture.

u/TheBrouhahaha Aug 15 '26

Ugh these morals and ethics are getting in the way of me making more profits how bothersome 😂😂😂

You just described the entire credit reporting agency issue.

2

u/houstonman526 Aug 16 '26

They would literally extort businesses for good reviews .

Hey, the BBB has done a good job convincing an entire generation that they matter at all and you have to dig like hell to even find that shit.
