I recently bought a SIG P211 GT5 now that it’s on the California roster, and I’m currently waiting out the 10-day waiting period. I was pretty set on the GT5 because I wanted a full-size, duty-style pistol that I could use as a range gun and potentially get into competition with.
The thing is, I recently came across the bronze Kimber 2K11 Pro Royal with the 4.25-inch barrel, and honestly, that thing looks incredible. Now I’m starting to have a little buyer’s remorse before I’ve even picked up my SIG.
I went with the GT5 because I wanted something that felt more like a full-size service pistol, but the Kimber looks great, and I’m wondering how much of a difference there really is in how flat they shoot. Part of me feels like the Kimber could shoot just as flat while having that shorter barrel and better-looking finish.
For those who have experience with either or both, did I make the right call going with the GT5? How do they compare in terms of recoil, shooting flat, overall feel, and versatility for the range and competition?
I know I haven’t even picked up the GT5 yet, so maybe I’m just overthinking it, but I’m curious to hear what people think. Would you stick with the GT5, or would the 2K11 Pro Royal be worth considering instead?
Also I know having both would be ideal but I’m not about to drop another 2k + for another pistol right now haha
