Standing Rule: No more new posts about 18 year old carry
We have been inundated with posts of people asking if they can carry at 18 in Georgia if they obtain an out of state CCW. We have a search bar. Please use it. New posts about this topic will be removed.

Georgia: Hypothetically, how could an only beneficiary legally transfer suppressors from a deceased father's trust into their own name?
I'm curious about how Georgia law handles the following hypothetical situation, particularly given the recent changes to federal NFA enforcement.
Suppose a father passes away under these circumstances:
- He had multiple suppressors held in a trust.
- He was both the grantor and the sole trustee. No successor trustee was named.
- He died without a will.
- His life insurance policies also named that same child as the sole beneficiary.
- The child would like to legally transfer the suppressors into their own individual name, rather than surrender them, if legally possible.
This is purely a hypothetical legal question. I'm interested in understanding how the process would work under Georgia and federal law, not asking about a personal situation.
Questions:
- If the trust does not name a successor trustee, can the sole beneficiary become the successor trustee under Georgia law, or would a court appointment be necessary?
- If the trust continues after the father's death, what would be required to distribute the suppressors from the trust into the beneficiary's individual ownership?
- If the trust terminates upon the father's death, would the suppressors need to be transferred through the estate, even if the child is the sole beneficiary?
- If the father died without a will, would Georgia's intestacy laws affect the process if the suppressors are owned by the trust rather than by the father personally?
- In light of the October 9, 2026 ATF guidance concerning suppressors and NFA transfers, would federal transfer paperwork or registration still be required to transfer the suppressors into the beneficiary's individual name? Does Georgia law create a separate obstacle?
- What documentation would typically be needed to establish the beneficiary's authority to receive the suppressors? For example, would the trust agreement, death certificate, proof of beneficiary status, or probate documents be necessary?
- Could this process potentially be completed without hiring an attorney or obtaining a court order, assuming the trust documents are straightforward? Or would professional legal assistance generally be necessary?
I'm particularly interested in the legal procedure for transferring the suppressors into the beneficiary's individual name, rather than selling them or surrendering them.
I'd appreciate responses from anyone familiar with Georgia trust law, firearms law, NFA trusts, or estate transfers. Please distinguish between personal experience and legal advice, especially given the recent federal guidance and its interaction with Georgia law.

In Relation to NFA…
Is it possible that someone on the state level comes out and says that GA won’t be enforcing NFA stuff either?

Recently moved, what should I know?
Hey there everyone. I recently moved from the west coast and I'm looking for suggestions for shops, ranges, events. I've got just the one gun right now (Glock 19), and I want to become more proficient at it. I eventually want to have enough confidence to conceal carry too. I'm over in Forsyth county currently, so anything around there would be great. Thanks much.

Georgia AG gives opinion on Silencer Shop v ATF
ga2a.orgBasically, his office agrees that the federal law is unconstitutional but the state law still applies. He can't prevent State and Local law enforcement and/or courts from enforcing the state law. He says the law needs to be changed.
Contact your legislators and tell then you want to change the law.
Join GA2A.ORG and help us push for better legislation.

Local gun store NFA policies version 2
Version 1 thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/GAGuns/s/7I61IGF8PC
Yesterday, Solicitor General John Sauer notified Congress that The Justice Department will not file an appeal in GOA’s victory against the NFA, Silencer Shop v. ATF.
According to folks online, this means the ATF cannot force GOA members to register suppressors or short barrels.
So, today’s question for the class is: “Will any Georgia local gun stores sell you a form 4473 suppressor/SBR/SBS yet or is everyone still waiting for more explicit language? If they are still waiting, what kind of declaration will help them make the decision to sell?”

Factory Seconds Ammo, Why? & thoughts
At Adventure Outdoors in Smyrna they sell Factory Seconds. Some of these seem to be more minor problems like LS primers, low velocity, or just visual defects. However they also sell split case factory seconds…seems like a huge risk to fire that, right?
Some of the ammo seems like an ok deal, but some are still priced way higher than you would expect given the orange tag.

FFL Transfer for multiple items
Hi all,
Is there a go to person that gives a discount on multiple FFL items (let's say 5 items)? I don't want to pay 100.
Thanks!

Trump orders DOJ to not appeal Silencer Shop ruling
This does nothing for GA law. However, once it's official, we can get GA law changed and be able to buy these NFA items over the counter.

Practical Pistol Skill Development, October 4 @ SRGC (Atlanta, GA)
Andreas from the PSTG Training Group Live podcast here.
Next Skill Development class is October 4. It's for people who have a grasp of practical shooting fundamentals and want to learn how to train effectively.
We'll shoot a mix drills that train individual skills and stage-like scenarios that test and develop on-demand execution. We'll score the stages and track them in PractiScore so everyone can see how their time and points combine into a score.
It's at South River Gun Club east of ATL. Max of six students to ensure plenty of one-on-one coaching. Round count is ~500 but you can shoot more or less if you like. Expect to be pushed hard regardless of your skill level.
Details on the class: link.

Coming from Nc
I’m moving to Bethlehem from North Carolina. Im looking for ranges that enable distance shooting way beyond just 100yds and ranges that enable movement and shooting like USPSA. I’m not worried about drives, I abhor indoor ranges, and just want to be able have quality training sessions. I’m prior sof it’s not that I’m here to preach or flex or some shit like that I’m just interested in maintaining my skills out of habit and probably mentally keep myself healthy once Im out of the military, I guess old habits die hard kind of deal.
Also looking for a quality gun store, people who know their stuff and aren’t trying to scam me. I like supporting local places and don’t want to resort to just ordering everything online and using someone to just do the transfer.
I appreciate literally any info, google hasn’t been helpful in my searches so I figure this would be best.
