No big deal, she just has cancer, why read directions?

My daughter ordered herself a nice meal as a treat. Delivery instructions are descriptive so you can navigate to the apartment. Apartment numbers are posted clearly. We even describe the doormat. Seriously. Leave no doubt! Dasher delivers to the wrong apartment. Hey it happens. Then she ghosts my daughter who is trying to figure out where she dropped the order so I - her caregiver - can go grab it. That's what isn't cool. Own your shit and help solve the problem you made.

My daughter even told her, "I'm going through chemo and I'm not mad at you, I just need information so my caregiver can get my food where you left it." Still nothing.

I did find the food and my daughter did report the dasher. I'm just so disappointed in the lack of maturity and accountability of the driver. This is the job. Have some pride in it to do your best, at least. And don't fuck over my kid!

FYI this was her favorite Italian restaurant so while it was very local to us, it still takes a chunk of time to be ready for delivery. Reordering wasn't going to be possible.

Would you report this???

I just came across this post on another social media platform and I am honestly kind of appalled. Not by this woman doing what she needs to do to survive in this economy, but by the woman who reported her. To me, its obvious that the woman who posted this and reported the dasher has a problem with delivery workers and believes herself to be above the rest of us. But still uses doordash nonetheless. I just want to know your thoughts on this?

I dont have any other info on the situation other than what is in the picture. It could have been a week night or weekend, over summer break, or any number of variables that we are not privy to. And I think that's what makes this situation even sadder to me - we don't know the story and likely neither did the woman who reported it to doordash.

Anyway...thoughts?

I got the 13 cookie tote from mcdonald’s and when i got the order, i noticed the bag was crumpled and the stickers were ripped off. Cookie tote was also crumpled so i counted the cookies, there it was, only 7 cookies. The bag also got some chocolate stains. Man these people

I place an order, and then literally 2 minutes after I get an assignment, this is the first thing I see from my Dasher. Obviously, I know things are hard for some people but is this legit? 😅 I feel like it’s a ploy for a bigger tip, maybe?

It’s a .5 mile trip each way, and I tipped 4$. I don’t really know how I should handle this. Leave it be?

I Rawred at a dasher.

The other day, a dasher was picking up an order. The order he was picking up wasn't labeled with a name (we usually label it) so when he asked if it was his order, I said to him "hold on let me check, this doesnt have a name" and I turned around to check our iPad. Then, as I was turned around, he YELLS at me: "HEY. IS THIS MY ORDER?!" I turn around and I'm like "OH MY GOOOOD YES, DAMN" he grabs the order and then turns away and as he was turned away I made a loud "RRRAWWWWRR" sound at him. He turned around with a WTF look on his face. Bahaha. It's all I could think to do after getting yelled at for no reason.

Have you ever been Rawred at? Have you ever Rawred at someone?

Dasher picked up my food 2 hours ago and won’t drop it off.

Hey I’m new to the DoorDash reddit so I don’t really know how this works. Does anyone have a suggestion on what to do. I know if I cancel the order myself he won’t have any consequences. I watched and screen recorded him drive very close to my house multiple times only to then drive away. I reached out to support and they basically said I can cancel it or wait for him. He also isn’t responding to support at all. I can still see him on the map and he’s like 2 towns away.

Edit: after reading some comments here I decided to reach out to support again for the third time, this time I mentioned filing a police report like someone suggested. They refunded my order while giving me some apology credits, and claimed that they added the incident to their notes. I don’t know if anything will actually happen to the guy or not. I know some people were upset that I was unwilling to get the police involved in something like this, but I really do not want to deal with the police unless I absolutely have to, it doesn’t always go well for someone of my skin color.

**edit: oh don’t worry guys it’s not weird. It comes with a flavored lube sample, which makes it food related.

Is any dasher going through this right now?

I received an email and the message is displaying in my DoorDash account about the $100 promotion for a $200+ deposit into your crimson account. I’ve already had the qualifying amount deposited into my account but for some reason they are saying that I don’t qualify. I asked them why am I receiving an email and why is it displayed on my account? Crickets… why offer something if you’re not going to honor it .

My Dasher got Trespassed mid pickup

Strangest DoorDash experience ever! I’m currently staying at my parents’ house with my fiancé since we flew in for my brother’s wedding this past weekend. Anyways, we ended up getting sick so decided to order our favorite Italian restaurant for comfort food (it’s a bit pricy but so worth it).

About five minutes after we ordered, my mom decided she wanted the same place for dinner but we had already submitted so it was too late. She decided to just call her order in for pickup and drive there (it’s like literally the next street over) since she wasn’t sick. I guess when she got there she saw some cops outside, a waitress crying, and a whole lot of yelling.

Turns out our dasher (a woman in her 60s) got in some sort of brawl with the people who worked there and was actively getting trespassed and banned while she was picking up our order. My mom overheard them all yelling about it and was like “uh I think that’s my daughters doordash order.. do you want me to just bring it to her?” And once they verified she wasn’t lying, they cancelled the order and just sent my mom home with our food lol! So we got our money back, a wild story, and our food delivered by my mom. I think the restaurant was so over that lady they just didn’t even to get it reassigned in the chaos. We never found out what even caused the fight, but we plan to order again later in the week and get the juicy details q.q

Anybody else ordering less now that gas is so expensive?

I know that yeah if dashers are out driving it's their choice and they want the money, I just feel kind of bad still and I guess it's just me. I've always tipped but now that gas is $4+ fucking dollars a gallon I feel like I should tip a lot more than usual, which I can't afford, so I'm just hardly ever ordering at all. maybe once a month if I'm really desperate. That might be hurting dashers though since they still need to get paid, idk. Anyone else or am I just crazy?

Should I stop tipping well?

I'm a really good tipper because I don't order often and only once a payday to treat myself, but literally 80-90% of the time, I end up getting tacked on to multi-orders because otherwise nobody would take their garbage low tipping orders, and it's annoying because my food takes way longer and is less fresh. Should I just lower the tips and pay for priority service or what? 😞

Doordash Not Giving Refund Despite Footage of Driver Stealing Package.

Thumbnail

Okay honestly just a little vent. I ordered two packages of acne star stickers, and within 30 seconds of dropping off my order, the dasher returns back to my location and goes into the CVS bag and steals my stickers.

I know that these stickers were roughly 30 dollars in total, so not the biggest deal, but it’s just the principle of the matter.

I have cameras and gathered evidence to make a report, and despite this I still don’t get a refund which I think I deserve given one of their employees robbed me.

And by the way what does a grown man want with pink glitter acne stickers???

Genuinely so confused on what I can do. I don’t think there is anything else I can do tbh.

I’m just confused on the whole point of this? Like what’s the point of having employees that rob your customers and keeping them around despite watching them commit a crime.

And what do they gain by not refunding me 30 dollars. Genuinely made me cancel my dash pro membership.

So much going on for this order

The rambling of the pickup instructions was fine. It's the demand to "smile and say hello to the server". Um, if I want to come in and simply say doordash pickup for "customer" then that's how it will be! Not to mention when I walked in they were incredibly rude as if I were bothering them. End of the world? Of course not. I'm curious how you feel about this.

Do Dasher get to see the tip when the order comes through the app ?

I place an order that cost $24 , is .7 mile away, fast food and tip $7 so that hopefully I get priority since I got to go to work. Do you guys see what tip customers give so that you can choose the best tip for your time and service ?

What would you have done?

I went o pick up part of a "2 pick up, 2 drop off" order. The first happened to be for nothing more than a slice of cheesecake. When I go to the front door there is a big ol sign that says "doors closed, pick up at the south window" i was not aware that this restaurant had a drive through ( i of course at the time of reading this still didn't know ) there was an employee in the lobby who was completely ignoring me as I knocked on the window which was soooooo frustrating. I've been in those situations, now I know she must've been thinking "we're closed' but when I've been in those situations I have at least acknowledged the would-be customer and done the poke at the invisible watch on the wrist to indicate we are closed but this girl couldn't even look in my direction. I just wanted to know if the window was a drive thru window or walk up window, and her manager must have heard me and finally acknowledged me, coming from somewhere in the kitchen

He nods at me when I make the "yellow pages finger walk" so I go around the corner and realize it is a drive through with a car already there. I just decide to go through with my car. And the girl who couldn't be bothered to look in my direction was the one to help at the window. She starts by giving me a big bag and says "wait there is one more" which was the dessert I was supposed to pick up. I took both then proceeded to ask the customer if it was just 1 order, she responds 2. I ask were they placed at different times, she tells me yes. I complete the order and come to find out the cheesecake paid me 2 dollars for 5 miles. Which I couldn't see until I finished my dash which I did immediately after its delivery. When I found out that I was only paid 2 dollars.

I kept the food. I wanted to stick it to the employee who angered me, but I feel bad for the customer not getting the actual food portion of thier order, but i wasn't supposed to deliver the larger order. What would you have done?

Why was I required to show ID for Tylenol (acetaminophen)???

• Upvotes

Recently I made a purchase on DoorDash usual snacks and two medications to cut cost on buying duel action pain relievers as it’s considered the same thing just more pills.. Tylenol and ibuprofen.. and for the Tylenol which I never heard of until now required I was 18+ from grocery outlet having to sign and show ID but when I went to add the smaller and extra strength one to the cart which was 20 caps vs 100 not extra strength.. but I am confused why did I need to show my id at all for Tylenol it’s not cold meds the medication is used often in homes especially those without opioid pain relievers it’s not a narcotic or even cold meds if anything you’d be in for a bad time if took too many just upset stomach and sometimes sleep.. it’s not pleasant abusable really.. with opioids maybe as it can increase opioid strength sometimes this is why it’s cut with hydrocodone, oxycodone, and sometimes even with codeine as they believed it make it less addictive too which was dumb because it didn’t and if anything made them more harmful to users who’d abuse as it was supposed to detour people from abusing but an addict isn’t gonna care what it does to their liver or give them slight stomach pain which is just harming addicts. But getting off topic I wanna understand why DoorDash wanted my id, did some law change I just never noticed, does Tylenol really require you to be 18+ now is it under the same conditions as cold meds now what gives I am confused and don’t understand can someone please explain

Turning off notifications on iPhone

I have turned off every possible setting I can find on the DoorDash app besides push notifications on deliveries. But almost every day, even though I don’t get push notifications, I still get a notification icon on the app which only goes away if I open the app.

Has anyone else found a way to disable these without disabling delivery push notifications as well?

Is this the stickers they put on tacobell delivery drinks?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I ordered doordash from Tacobell and i’m just curious about this sticker they put on the drink, it was hard to get off as you can see and it just doesn’t seem to make sense idk. Is this normal? I’m a very paranoid person so I will not be drinking this until I get answers unfortunately 😭😭

Update: It is thank you stickers off of something like Amazon. The dasher may have put it on there due to the store not putting a sticker themselves. I’m drinking so we will see if I spontaneously combust or not due to being poisoned or live the rest of my life peacefully from a dasher just using his own stickers for drinks

How to contact support?

I had placed an order, it said the driver was picking up the order but map just showed him sitting at a house a few miles away for over 30 min. I waited quite a while and eventually cancelled (at the time I didn’t realize cancelling the order won’t give me a refund) because I didn’t know what else to do. At the time I cancelled it had been 60 min since placing the order. Also I’ll point out the restaurant was 2 miles away and I included a $6 tip. I cancelled because I decided I was just going to walk somewhere to eat (I can’t drive).

So I try to contact support, but the in-app chat seems to just be a bot that got me nowhere, and when I tried calling it was also an automated voice that just hung up on me.

Is there an efficient way to talk to a real person for a refund? Or am I just technologically illiterate and don’t need to be using DoorDash?

TIA

Dropped wrong bag off

I literally cannot believe I did this... I had a shop n pay last night. Went through and delivered what I thought was their stuff... Well, I get in my car today and see their bag on my floor. I literally delieverd my "trash bag" that I use for bottles and whatnot. It was extra dark last night so I never noticed the bag was different. Do I contact support and let them know? I dont have any contract violations yet and no quality issues... Not sure whats going on there cause there's no shot the customer chose to not report it.

Weird glitch with the app?

Has anyone else had this happen before?

Fairly new driver here. Had an order for McDonald's the other day that came in and auto accepted the SECOND I completed the previous order. So I drove to McDonald's immediately. I get to the pickup counter, and I don't see the order. I wasn't terribly far from McDonald's, but even so, that location is usually really fast with fulfilling orders.

The manager walks up and asks if I'm here to pick up for "clients name". Yes I am. He says

"Dude, we made that order an hour and a half ago, and somebody already picked it up. Since then, 4 other dashers have come to pick it up. You're the 5th. You gotta get ahold of someone on the app, because we're not making this order again"

While I still can, I text the client saying something to the effect of :

"Hey man, sorry if you've already gotten several previous texts like this, but have you gotten your food yet? Because McDonald's says someone already picked it up, and somehow I still got this order."

"No, I haven't. I've been waiting like an hour and a half too. The app just keeps updating me with new dashers, and you're the only one that's reached out so far."

I tell him I'll see if there's anything I can do on my end, and walk back into McDonald's. Mind you, I'm still sitting in the "start pickup " screen this whole time. I tell the manager that customer STILL hasn't gotten his food, and ask if they can PLEASE make his order again. Nope, their involvement is over, unless he wants to re order. Customer doesn't want to do that, understandably.

At this point I'm not sure what to do for him, so I tell him just to request a refund in the app, and report a bug (if he can). I tell him I'll vouch (again, If I can) somehow, and I'll also report a glitch. I apologize for the inconvenience, and he assured me that he doesn't blame me, he in fact appreciates the great communication. He's in the middle of typing something else, when the app cancels the order because I "took too long" to pick up the order, thus cutting him off.

Overall he was super chill about the whole experience.

Has anyone else experienced this? What was the right course of action there? Will this affect my rating, and if so can I clear it up?

TL:DR

Got an hour and a half old order that had already been picked up by a different dasher, and reassigned to 5 other dashers. Customer never got the food, and McDonald's refused to remake the order. App cancels the dash and cut me off mid conversation with customer.

Camera problems

Has anyone else on android had problems with the camera randomly not working? If first did it on a verification and I had to log on a different phone to get it to work. Then tonight it did it again amd wouldn't let me take a picture of the receipt. Anyone know any fixes?
