DoorDash wrong order

Ordered doordash tonight because a family member just passed and I didn’t want to cook. This is what I got. They refused to compensate. The dasher though was very polite and understood and told me to contact support. I rarely complain and yet this is what I get.

Why was I required to show ID for Tylenol (acetaminophen)???

• Upvotes

Recently I made a purchase on DoorDash usual snacks and two medications to cut cost on buying duel action pain relievers as it’s considered the same thing just more pills.. Tylenol and ibuprofen.. and for the Tylenol which I never heard of until now required I was 18+ from grocery outlet having to sign and show ID but when I went to add the smaller and extra strength one to the cart which was 20 caps vs 100 not extra strength.. but I am confused why did I need to show my id at all for Tylenol it’s not cold meds the medication is used often in homes especially those without opioid pain relievers it’s not a narcotic or even cold meds if anything you’d be in for a bad time if took too many just upset stomach and sometimes sleep.. it’s not pleasant abusable really.. with opioids maybe as it can increase opioid strength sometimes this is why it’s cut with hydrocodone, oxycodone, and sometimes even with codeine as they believed it make it less addictive too which was dumb because it didn’t and if anything made them more harmful to users who’d abuse as it was supposed to detour people from abusing but an addict isn’t gonna care what it does to their liver or give them slight stomach pain which is just harming addicts. But getting off topic I wanna understand why DoorDash wanted my id, did some law change I just never noticed, does Tylenol really require you to be 18+ now is it under the same conditions as cold meds now what gives I am confused and don’t understand can someone please explain

Camera problems

Has anyone else on android had problems with the camera randomly not working? If first did it on a verification and I had to log on a different phone to get it to work. Then tonight it did it again amd wouldn't let me take a picture of the receipt. Anyone know any fixes?

My Doordash account is temporarily disabled due to them reviewing my Background check and I just dont understand 🙃

I am a recovering addict that unfortunately lives in a State that is not lenient when it comes to substance abuse so I have a record. Almost 4 years sober now 😊 anyways, I applied for Doordash in December of 2023 and got approved finally after a few weeks. I was worried because of my multiple felonies and misdemeanors but nonetheless I was working pretty quickly. Its now been almost 3 years and last week they did the annual Background Check refresh, and now my account is locked because of an issue with a charge that came up on my background check. I have not even gotten so much as a parking ticket between my initial approval and today so I am not at all sure why this is suddenly a problem. Has anyone dealt with anything similar? Ive sent Doordash and Checkr as much proof of my rehabilitation as I am able and i'm now hoping for the best, but this has really added an insane amount of stress into my life for no reason that makes sense to me.

They picked up my food and had another stop, no biggie. He was literally 2 minutes from my house, so cant be that long of a wait, when I get the notification my food is being remade. Did he just steal my food or what? It said he was a top rated driver with over 20k deliveries.

So much going on for this order

The rambling of the pickup instructions was fine. It's the demand to "smile and say hello to the server". Um, if I want to come in and simply say doordash pickup for "customer" then that's how it will be! Not to mention when I walked in they were incredibly rude as if I were bothering them. End of the world? Of course not. I'm curious how you feel about this.

A decent tip motivates the dasher to put in some effort

I usually do not accept double orders unless they pay well. Two pickups, two dropoffs, more time.

Sometimes though I will accept a lower paying double if the pickups are at the same place and the total drive distance isn't too bad. I accepted one such order the other day.

The total was a little over five dollars for both orders, so I knew these people didn't tip worth shit.

I waited almost ten minutes at the drive thru speaker before anyone talked to me. Ten minutes is the mandatory wait period before we can drop orders penalty free.

When ten minutes had gone by, I dropped both orders. It took almost ten minutes to get help. I knew it was going to take ten minutes or more to get the orders.

Know what though? If the payout had been worth it, I'd have waited. Minimum or no tip? Minimum effort. I do this to make money, not get ripped off by people willing to pay everyone involved EXCEPT the driver spending his valuable time and gas.

the orders of those two people were tied up with me for ten minutes, then they had to wait for the system to find a new driver. they got what they deserved.

Got a misdemeanor for leaving my car running and parked outside of a restaurant

Today I got a DoorDash order at a restaurant and I parked outside with my keys in the ignition and hazards on right outside the front door and big windows. I go inside and I see two cops and then they leave and they start looking at my car and they looked through the window and they look back at me and they pointed me to say is this your car Then I go outside and I talk to them and I said do you want me to move my car and then they start going about oh do you know it’s illegal to leave your car running and unattended and I was like I had a line of site on my car. I’ll move it if it’s an issue and then he asked me for my ID and asked me to move to the parking lot and after waiting for an hour, they took my picture and fingerprints and gave me a court date. Has this happened at anybody else and were they able to fight it in court? Very frustrated let me know.

Charging hidden service fees despite having dashpass.

2 pictures, One is the actual receipt from the pickup order I made, The other is what Doordash said they charged.

Doordash up charged $5.90, Dashpass gives back I think $1.37 for picking up the order myself. And presumably this is happening with every single pick-up order anyone makes.

The point of the dashpass is to avoid the service fee and the platform is lying to us.

Would you report this???

I just came across this post on another social media platform and I am honestly kind of appalled. Not by this woman doing what she needs to do to survive in this economy, but by the woman who reported her. To me, its obvious that the woman who posted this and reported the dasher has a problem with delivery workers and believes herself to be above the rest of us. But still uses doordash nonetheless. I just want to know your thoughts on this?

I dont have any other info on the situation other than what is in the picture. It could have been a week night or weekend, over summer break, or any number of variables that we are not privy to. And I think that's what makes this situation even sadder to me - we don't know the story and likely neither did the woman who reported it to doordash.

Anyway...thoughts?

Has anyone ever had their Crimson card deactivated and another processed to be sent you arbitrarily by DoorDash?

Turning off notifications on iPhone

I have turned off every possible setting I can find on the DoorDash app besides push notifications on deliveries. But almost every day, even though I don’t get push notifications, I still get a notification icon on the app which only goes away if I open the app.

Has anyone else found a way to disable these without disabling delivery push notifications as well?

Was waiting to pick up an order at an ice cream place and another dasher comes in and literally REEKS the entire place up of weed. Always thought people exaggerated about that but NOPE.

Doordash Not Giving Refund Despite Footage of Driver Stealing Package.

Thumbnail

Okay honestly just a little vent. I ordered two packages of acne star stickers, and within 30 seconds of dropping off my order, the dasher returns back to my location and goes into the CVS bag and steals my stickers.

I know that these stickers were roughly 30 dollars in total, so not the biggest deal, but it’s just the principle of the matter.

I have cameras and gathered evidence to make a report, and despite this I still don’t get a refund which I think I deserve given one of their employees robbed me.

And by the way what does a grown man want with pink glitter acne stickers???

Genuinely so confused on what I can do. I don’t think there is anything else I can do tbh.

I’m just confused on the whole point of this? Like what’s the point of having employees that rob your customers and keeping them around despite watching them commit a crime.

And what do they gain by not refunding me 30 dollars. Genuinely made me cancel my dash pro membership.

Doordash doesn't pay driver's.

I know I've personally said this in the past, but I figure by this point I'm so far buried that I'm just going to say this again, but hopefully in a way that'll help some of you (at least one) to see this platform differently.

DoorDash is an advertising platform in disguise as a delivery service. It's "making money" from charging merchants a monthly fee plus taking a revenue percentage per order transaction, and that's it. They have no hard tangible assets. McDonald's owns the land the restaurants are made on. Netflix owns IP's of its shows and movies. FedEx, UPS, and DHL are shipping companies. They own the land their warehouses are built on as well as the trucks, planes, and shipping containers they use. Those are all assets they can put up as collateral with banks. DoorDash leases office space from real estate companies, makes drivers use their own vehicle, and charges merchants for the privilege of maintaining modern relevance.

There is a base pay the DoorDash is supposed to pay out if the customer doesn't tip enough. The only people that DoorDash pays directly because they are actually DoorDash employees are the IT and networking people in front of terminals and working on the servers that keep the whole system running.

Someone decided to make a feature into a core business model, and now it's collapsing under the weight.

My daughter ordered herself a nice meal as a treat. Delivery instructions are descriptive so you can navigate to the apartment. Apartment numbers are posted clearly. We even describe the doormat. Seriously. Leave no doubt! Dasher delivers to the wrong apartment. Hey it happens. Then she ghosts my daughter who is trying to figure out where she dropped the order so I - her caregiver - can go grab it. That's what isn't cool. Own your shit and help solve the problem you made.

My daughter even told her, "I'm going through chemo and I'm not mad at you, I just need information so my caregiver can get my food where you left it." Still nothing.

I did find the food and my daughter did report the dasher. I'm just so disappointed in the lack of maturity and accountability of the driver. This is the job. Have some pride in it to do your best, at least. And don't fuck over my kid!

FYI this was her favorite Italian restaurant so while it was very local to us, it still takes a chunk of time to be ready for delivery. Reordering wasn't going to be possible.

My Dasher got Trespassed mid pickup

Strangest DoorDash experience ever! I’m currently staying at my parents’ house with my fiancé since we flew in for my brother’s wedding this past weekend. Anyways, we ended up getting sick so decided to order our favorite Italian restaurant for comfort food (it’s a bit pricy but so worth it).

About five minutes after we ordered, my mom decided she wanted the same place for dinner but we had already submitted so it was too late. She decided to just call her order in for pickup and drive there (it’s like literally the next street over) since she wasn’t sick. I guess when she got there she saw some cops outside, a waitress crying, and a whole lot of yelling.

Turns out our dasher (a woman in her 60s) got in some sort of brawl with the people who worked there and was actively getting trespassed and banned while she was picking up our order. My mom overheard them all yelling about it and was like “uh I think that’s my daughters doordash order.. do you want me to just bring it to her?” And once they verified she wasn’t lying, they cancelled the order and just sent my mom home with our food lol! So we got our money back, a wild story, and our food delivered by my mom. I think the restaurant was so over that lady they just didn’t even to get it reassigned in the chaos. We never found out what even caused the fight, but we plan to order again later in the week and get the juicy details q.q

I took this screenshot of me being platinum less than a week ago because I thought I noticed my status dropping without a single point being dropped, and today it just confirmed it, I went back down to gold and apparently the requirements changed? Is this normal or did I just catch them in a sketchy act??
