I wanted to share a few resources that might help someone who is struggling or knows someone who is.
Sometimes people are going through things we know nothing about. You never know what someone is dealing with behind closed doors, and sometimes just knowing where to turn can make a difference.
A few resources worth saving:
988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: Call or text 988
Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741
American Foundation for Suicide Prevention: https://afsp.org/
988 Lifeline Chat: https://988lifeline.org/
You don’t have to know the right thing to say to check on someone. Sometimes just asking how they’re really doing and taking the time to listen is a good place to start.
Sharing this in case it helps someone who needs it, even if they aren’t ready to ask for help themselves.

About 11 years ago, RJ Visited my country for a speaking tour. Had literally seen the even randomly on Facebook the night before and decided to go along - it was free too! It was a great night and RJ talked about his upbringing, importance of family and he was incredibly passionate for disability representation. Of course some cool Breaking Bad behind the scenes! After the event, he met every single person and took photos, listened and was genuinely invested in every interaction. I remember telling him he really inspired me that night (which he did and him being really taken aback and grateful for that. So saddened to hear a life cut so short and I had no idea he was struggling. I hope and pray he's at peace and I'm thinking of his family, friends and co stars. You were a real one RJ 🙏

"I’m in deep despair as I write this tonight. RJ Mitte, my sweet son on Breaking Bad has died.
I met him when he was only 14 years old when he was cast as Walter White Jr., a part he played with such joy and enthusiasm.
Born with Cerebral Palsy, he never - ever - allowed that challenge to be an excuse for anything. He met the demanding shooting schedule head on with great determination.
Always listening to the advice that his TV parents (Anna Gunn and myself) gave him - but being a teenager, sometimes mischievously ignoring the counsel in order to learn the hard way… He was one of the stars of a hit TV show - but still a kid.
That kid was pretty raw when we started shooting the pilot in February of 2007, but little by little we watched him grow into a really fine actor. He parlayed his experience on the show to be a vocal advocate for performers with disabilities, and was the head of a philanthropic organization with a focus on helping the disabled community.
All that promise and potential now is such a loss.
It is especially devastating to hear that he took his own life.
Why?
We were texting each other just a few weeks ago - figuring out when we could meet for lunch. I don’t know if that lunch would have changed his future…
But I do know that I loved him, and thoroughly enjoyed being with him throughout the years on the series, and after the spotlight on Breaking Bad dimmed…
I’ll miss you, son.
I can’t stop there without imploring anyone who is contemplating suicide to please call for the support you need at 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (https://988lifeline.org/). There is hope"

You've probably heard that RJ Mitte (Walter Jr./Flynn) took his own life today.
I've been dealing with thoughts of this nature for a while now and this really shocked me and crystallized what that would mean for me.
Please reach out to your friends that you haven't heard from in a while. Or who seem like they're isolating themselves. They may ignore you. Or you may be what they need in a time of distress.
Also reach out to your friends who have it all together. Maybe they're engaged or maybe they're a famous actor maybe they just got promoted.
Reach out to the people you love.

Hearing the news today broke my heart. I will never forget the entertainment this man has brought me and for helping make one of my favorite television shows a reality.
As a young man battling depression amongst other problems, this one is affecting me in a way many other celebrity deaths usually don't. He had so much life left to live and genuinely seemed like a really decent down to earth guy.
I just wanted to make this post to honor RJ and create an opportunity to celebrate his life. Also, if anybody has stories or memories with him, I'd love to hear
Rest easy friend 🧡

That one scene told us so much about each character, but especially Walt. Many would have just ignored it, but not Walt. And Walt Jr played his role to perfection - perhaps sadly because he had experienced it in real life. What a scene!

In the episode "Blood Money" when Hank sees the inscription from Gale to Walt in the book, Hank is just casually taking a dump in Walt and Skyler's ensuite bathroom. Is this. Normal or would you, as a guest, only use the shared bathroom that most houses would have and not a couple's private one? Pretty brave move by Hank if you ask me

(Sorry if this looks like a spam post)
RiP RJ Mitte. Honestly, I never watched the show myself but it's horrible. He was so young, an advocate for disability rights, great actor but most importantly, a son and great friend to many. It was the least of what I expected to hear.
It's so shocking and we may not know why, but we can't forget.
My thoughts and prayers go to his family for this loss because he cannot and will not be replaced.
Rest in Peace, RJ, and thank you.

Seeing what RJ's done, acting despite His disability and even incorporating it into it, Him being an advocate for disabled people and a philanthropist, and how saddened the cast seem after His passing, he must've been just as kind and awesome as I imagined Him to be. Of all the cast, I never once imagined He'd leave so soon.
I feel like a reddit post isn't exactly the best place to write this, but my condolences to his family, and to those who worked with Him or knew Him. It's a tragedy He went so soon. I don't know if the suicide part is true as well, but either way, at least from the outside, it looked like He had a lot of things ahead of Him, it's really sad that He went before His marriage too. May He rest in peace.

It’s such a tragedy that we lost RJ. He was such a kind-hearted young man that was gone too soon. He spent his free time helping others with disabilities all while he had cerebral palsy. Not to mention his amazing performance as Walter Jr. on Breaking Bad. Words cannot describe the pain I feel right now, as well as many of you guys. Rest in paradise, RJ, RJ. You will forever be missed.

I just found out about everything with RJ Mitte and I'm truly speechless. The last few months have been my first time watching Breaking Bad and just a couple hours ago i was watching S04E11. When I got to that moment where Walt Jr. was at Walt's house, when he was talking to him about his father and all that, yk i really underestimated the character until that scene, as he told him that at least when he saw him crying he was being "real," even though that wasn't really the case. I knew nothing about the actor's life, but he definitely did a good job, an awesome job, and should be remembered for that.

RJ's friends and family (especially his fiancée) all have my sympathies, and I have nothing but the utmost respect for everything he had ever donated to disability charity. His performance as Flynn White was nothing short of awesome, namely during his last phone call with Walt in "Granite State"; RJ acted his fucking heart out in that scene.
Here's to hoping Flynn gets all the breakfasts ever in heaven.

My heart goes out to RJ Mitte’s family, friends, and everyone who loved him. I can’t imagine how painful this loss must be for them. He meant a lot to so many people, and he will be remembered for the person he was and the impact he had on others. Sending love and strength to everyone grieving him. May he rest in peace.

From Hollywood Reporter:
Paul, who played Jesse Pinkman, wrote in a statement shared with The Hollywood Reporter, “I am at a loss. I am heartbroken over this news. RJ, I love you my friend. You will be missed. And to whoever happens to be reading this, please know you are loved, and you are not alone. Always remember that.”
Dean Norris, who played Hank Schrader, the uncle to Walt Jr., also shared, “Though RJ didn’t play my TV son, I always looked out for him as a young kid on set. He was a sweetheart of a young man and will be greatly missed. This is so heartbreaking, I can’t believe it. Thinking of him and his family.”

I remember about a week ago I saw a tik tok where it was saying how every scene with Skyler and Walt Jr was extremely annoying. The comments were full of people hating on both characters and saying how much they couldn’t stand either of them whenever they got screen time. I’ve seen several other posts similar to this.
He earned very little money from the show, and the combination of feeling unwanted on the only major thing he’s done in his life might have severely affected his mental health.

you will always be remembered by those who were able to know and love you, wether it be in person or through a screen. i'm truly sorry that you felt that there wasn't any other way, you were such a bright soul with so much ahead of you. you advocated for people with disabilities so much, and you wont EVER be forgotten. if only you knew how loved you were. everyone, check on your friends, remind them that they aren't alone, because the feeling of loneliness can drive someone so far.
