'Breaking Bad' family paying tributes to RJ, including Aaron Paul: “I am at a loss. I am heartbroken over this news. RJ, I love you my friend. You will be missed. And to whoever happens to be reading this, please know you are loved, and you are not alone. Always remember that.”
From Hollywood Reporter:
Paul, who played Jesse Pinkman, wrote in a statement shared with The Hollywood Reporter, “I am at a loss. I am heartbroken over this news. RJ, I love you my friend. You will be missed. And to whoever happens to be reading this, please know you are loved, and you are not alone. Always remember that.”
Dean Norris, who played Hank Schrader, the uncle to Walt Jr., also shared, “Though RJ didn’t play my TV son, I always looked out for him as a young kid on set. He was a sweetheart of a young man and will be greatly missed. This is so heartbreaking, I can’t believe it. Thinking of him and his family.”

Thanks for sharing this💔
From the blooper reel, this cast really seemed like they loved each other behind the scenes. I can’t imagine how his family, friends, and the Breaking Bad cast is taking these news. RIP🖤🕊️

RJ and Luis Moncada hung out less than a week ago 😢 Can’t imagine how his friends and family must be feeling.
Jeremiah Bitsui just left a comment on RJ and Luis’s Instagram post: 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 RIP RJ

I can’t remember but did junior and Jesse ever interacted in the bb universe?

I always had hoped it might somehow happen in some short scene in a future project - set post-Camino where they're both older now. We see a glimpse of their future, and what became of them. Jesse recognises Flynn, but Flynn doesn't quite place Jesse... Maybe Flynn is with his family, has kids of his own... and Jesse has a short, poignant and meaningful interaction with him. So sad that can never happen now.

That was intentional. It was to show that Walt went to Jesse as the son he never had.

Y'all remember he was trying to pitch a sequel series to Vince? It really comes off in a different light now knowing the financial and psychological hell he was put through. Anyone in your life who may need to hear it, let them know you love them today. You never know what they might be going through, and it just might make all the difference for them. Shine on, RJ ✰'。˚⋆˙‧₊ .

What's the financial hell you're referring to?

His evil fucking manager was leeching millions off him and other disabled actors behind their backs and hoisting it offshore. Naturally, the IRS screwed him for it instead of going after her. I hope the evil piece of shit never knows another day of peace.
(Won't let me post a link, but he talked about it on the Iced Coffee Hour podcast.)

RJ had a business manager that defrauded him out of basically all of his money. He owed years of back taxes, and it took almost a decade to pay back the IRS.
The story is basically he would submit checks to her, to pay taxes. She pocketed the money, and gave him false tax payment receipts.
So she stole his money, and then he had to pay the taxes on his money x2. He was in massive debt to the IRS for years

His manager was cashing checks intended for tax payments while he was working on BB. He learned years later that he was in severe debt with the IRS, and that it turned out his manager hadn’t been paying his taxes. He was still struggling with that debt to this day.

I am so gutted to hear this. I was clueless to any health issues other than his disability. May he rest in peace.

Unfortunately it’s being reported it was a suicide

u/SaltPsychological780 5h ago
What. No. This is even more upsetting. I thought he became recently engaged?

You really never know what people are going through.
Bryan Cranston said they texted each other a couple weeks ago. Steven Michael Quezada hung out with him last week. He was on a podcast a few days ago. Someone in another subreddit mentioned he was online playing some games around 14 to 16 hours prior to his death being reported.
It's so, so very sad, and very sudden.

(I upvoted” bc you shared what is known so far, not for his manner of death- I didn’t want you think otherwise)
•
u/bambi54 4h ago
People can’t see who upvoted comments. Why would you assume that people would think you were upvoting it for joy? It’s for helpful information, not what you made you smile.
•
u/SaltPsychological780 4h ago
I know you can’t see who upvoted comments, but I wanted to be transparent
•
u/bambi54 4h ago
Okay? About what? Upvoting is for helpful information or contributing to the conversation. Which they did.
•
u/SaltPsychological780 3h ago
Ugh, sorry for doing this all wrong 😔

u/RabbitEquivalent208 3h ago
You're not doing anything wrong. You're just being honest. And even though people can't see who up votes, there's nothing wrong with you wanting to clarify. You're fine, babes.
•
u/Ill_Spell_7695 3h ago
Don't worry this person is a knob. You didn't do anything wrong.
•
u/RabbitEquivalent208 3h ago
Yeah that's what I was saying too. I don't understand why people just want to nit pick others.
•
u/Ill_Spell_7695 3h ago
I just pity them. How miserable must you be to put others down so readily?

After both my Mom and brother died suddenly, I’ve tried to be better about telling my friends that I love them, and I’m always there for them if/when they need me, even if life gets busy and we don’t talk as much. It’s easy to put off calling a loved one, but please don’t.
•
u/JohnnyBroccoli 2h ago
I'm pretty terrible at both giving and receiving a verbal "I love you". Been trying to work on it.
•
u/ViciousSnatch 2h ago
Good on you for working on that aspect of yourself. Because you deserve to hear it. Everyone deserves to know that they’re valued and loved. Honestly, the more you tell people that you love them, the easier it gets. And if you don’t want to say you love someone, you can say and show it in other ways. Even smiling at someone when you’re grocery shopping, or offering a genuine compliment on their hat or shirt might make all the difference in someone’s outlook about life in that moment, on that day.

I’m still in shock over his passing and refuse to believe it. RIP RJ Mitte. If you ever feel alone and like taking your own life, please reach out to someone. Taking your own life is never the answer.

I was just thinking how devastating this must be for the rest of the cast. Even if they were not "real" family, after so many years together I can't imagine how this must be affecting them. It's all just so sad
