Political Question Why are Shane Gillis fans so sensitive?

Post image

This really pissed off a lot of his fans in another group where I posted it.

I was raised with Chappelle show and South Park it takes an entirely new offensive to get any type of rise out of me.

This is why I don’t understand the outrage, tons of comedians have made even more outrageous jokes but this is for whatever reason where the line is drawn? It makes no sense

It has nothing to do with offensive comedy, everything to do with a hack comedian standing on one of the biggest stages on national television and just saying "So anyways, women are whores am I right?"

There's barely an attempt at a joke, it's just a dumbass being platformed to say something lazy, dated, and shitty for no reason

Yeah, that wasn’t the joke so why would he say that? Maybe I should ask, why would you think that?

The joke is women who walk around gyms are wearing revealing clothes because they can’t get enough attention and aren’t there to work out. It’s a joke. Lighten up.

It’s written specifically to get a laugh from that shared perspective with the bonus of pissing off idiots too stupid to see that and who immediately reveal their own biases by misinterpreting it.

What a great joke! Thank you for explaining the intricacies and thus revealing the depth and brilliance of the writing at display here! This changes everything!

Dude, you're basically saying "the joke isn't that women are whores, the joke is that women dress like whores to get attention".

It’s written specifically to get a laugh from that shared perspective

What shared perspective? The shared perspective of staring at women at the gym and judging them?

That hack comedian sells out arenas fyi…

He also just held a show where the Eagles play for over 75k people as the headlining act…

Outside of reddit, yes, he is very popular.

Maybe he is popular, sure. That doesn't mean he was funny on SNL. He wasn't. I wouldn't call him offensive, per se, but he wasn't funny.

Maybe he had an off night? I don’t know but it wasn’t funny.
