Liv gets booked poorly: "never make her champion again she sucks!" Iyo, Roxanne and Dom get booked poorly: "WWE are fumbling them!"

With the meltdown the IWC are predictably having over Liv regaining the title at MITB it got me thinking about their double standards. When wrestlers the majority of the internet doesn't like are booked badly they are blamed instead of management. Liv, Tiffany winning her 2nd MITB, Jade, most of the IWC went after them not Triple H.

However when internet darlings are misused then Triple H takes the full brunt of fan frustration and is given 100% blame. Iyo went 62 days not wrestling during her last reign then was made Rhea's sidekick, didn't make the Mania card, had Kairi fired mid feud and hasn't done much since Summerslam.

Dominik, Carmelo Hayes, the entire men's tag division, Roxanne being a perennial jobber, LA Knight still not winning a world title, Gunther post retiring Cena, Bron still not winning a world title, etc. They've all had questionable to bad booking. But they escape any blame.

Even though Iyo had a title reign where she mostly stood backstage fawning over women's wrestling creator Nikki Bella nobody says she shouldn't be champion again. Nobody mocked her when Triple H didn't give her a match for 2 straight months. But people said Liv shouldn't be champion again after she lost to Stephanie in Chile.

Why the double standard? Did I miss something and Liv, Tiffany and Jade have total creative control and can do whatever they want? Do Iyo, Dom, LA, etc have no backstage pull whatsoever? Weird to blame the talent sometimes and other times blame the rightful person at fault Triple H.

Discussion Hot Take: Vince McMahon Would’ve LA Knight His Moment By Now

Post image
0 Upvotes

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD READ THE BODY POST BEFORE REPLYING:

Vince wouldn't have spent years dangling LA Knight in front of the fans, repeatedly putting him in high-profile feuds with world champions without having the legitimacy of a world title reign under his belt. If Vince had no intentions of making him a world champ it would’ve been painfully obvious

Look at Kofi Kingston, Daniel Bryan, Jeff Hardy, Dolph Ziggler and Big E. These were guys the fans got behind, and eventually they got their moment. That one world title win is what solidified guys as main event players under Vince. WWE has repeatedly positioned LA Knight as a main event star, yet in the eyes of the casual fan, he has nothing to show for it.

If Vince didn't see Knight as a potential world champion, he wouldn’t have dangled this possibility in front of the fans for this long.

That's what frustrates me about Triple H's booking. The years of anticipation, constantly making fans believe his moment is coming, but no payoff. At what point does teasing someone's potential become their ceiling.

Either pull the trigger or don’t.

Discussion I know it's been discussed, but L.A. Knight...

Back in early March, I decided to embark on a journey. I decided to watch every PLE that I could stream online in chronological order. It's really been a fun journey to see how WWE has changed over the years. So anyway....

I'm currently watching 2023 PLE's. Money in the Bank was one of L.A. Knight's first major PLE appearances. Gigantic entrance pop. There was someone in the crowd with a sign that said "IF L.A. KNIGHT LOSES WE RIOT!!!!!!" He was 100% over in 2023.

I just don't understand why they never pulled the trigger. I mean, they could have given him MitB then and no one would have bat an eye. I bet even if he had a botched cash in, they could have used it to give him a solid championship push. I'm sure there are a multitude of reasons. I just wish I knew why. I really admire his work. The only thing that's better than his promos is his match work and the only thing better than that are his promos. He's just a joy to watch. Great character. I hope that the rumors of backstage friction aren't true. I hope he doesn't leave. The WWE needs him.

Roman Reigns puts over more wrestlers than Seth

So much talk about Roman burying people when honestly, just being involved in a program with him gives you a great push.

Cody Rhodes has been unstoppable since that first WrestleMania loss to Roman.

Sami was going nowhere until he joined the Bloodline. Became the most over wrestler for a whole year, now world champion.

Jey Uso would have never won a world title if not for the Roman rub.

Penta was treated like a superstar vs Roman and now holds the MITB briefcase.

Solo and Jacob benefited greatly from the bloodline storylines.

Drew tossed out Roman at the Royal Rumble and solidified his place as a top guy.

L.A Knight will be just fine.

I don't think Seth has elevated nearly as many wrestlers yet he doesn't get the same criticism.

The WWE ID program has become hit or miss, but mainly miss

Post image

There have been a few people who have came from the program that have made an impact on NXT: the Vanity Project, EK prosper, and Sean legacy are the ones that come off the top of my head. But for the majority, most of these people have gotten lost in the shuffle. For one thing, they’re using Evolve as the platform for showcasing, the talent that they bring in, but the show is so obviously rehearsed and unauthentic that it barely showcase how talented the wrestlers can be as opposed to what the old Evolve was at its peak. Recently, a few people have announced that they are no longer with the program but they are just few of many who have either been released or have left. I just ultimately don’t think the program is the best at actually improving and showcasing the wrestlers that they bring in.

Dear WWE, please give LA Knight the effing big one!

I've been watching wrestling since the 80s, when I was but a pup. That man would be over in any era. Stop milking Roman dry and stir it up a little. Made me stop watching MITB. I will get back to it, because there are other wrestlers that I like. But the way it's going, they'll all probably be buried by Joe Anoa'i for years to come.

Discussion Bloodline vs 946

My theory for how this 5v5 will work out LA Knight will turn heel and turn on Solo Sikoa and be the 4th male member of 946 and Jacob returns but Drew attacks Jacob and has a temporary alliance with 946 like he did with Judgement day and the vision at both of those wargames and also returns on Smackdown and targets Sami and wins the title of him making the fight for crown jewel championship Roman Reigns vs Drew McIntyre a proper fight no interference or Roman winning dirty and also making the 5v5 at wargames
Team Bloodline
Jimmy uso
Jey uso
Solo Sikoa
Jacob Fatu
Roman reigns
Vs
Team 946
Lucien Price
Bronco Nima
LA Knight
Drew McIntyre
Royce Keys

Again.. creative as made the worst decision ever… at the most unique PLE.. making the worst PLE ALL YEARRRR.. everything besides penta winning was trash. My biggest problem was women’s mitb. Why did tiffy have to win two years in a row? I heard it’s to boost her streaming career and push the company on twitch. If I was deciding, I would let Roxy win, she’s been on a fat loosing streak. If she was to get it she would be able to cash in on liv and go against the judgement day bc that faction is lowkey buns rn without Finn, Damian OR Rhea.its just lost the plot… but this is just how I feel.

May Contain Spoilers McIntyre next for Roman?

Assuming Drew's return is on the horizon and rumors are that he's going to RAW, looks like they're going to feed him next to Roman, based on what HHH said that there's an asterisk next to Roman when you want to put him on Mount Rushmore, and he's on a mission to prove he belongs there.

He never beat Knight clean before MITB, and the same goes with Drew who he has never beaten clean.

Can see McIntyre even joining 946 for WarGames to begin things off

KO Should’ve Gotten Roman Reigns 2015-18 Push

Thumbnail

Roman Reigns’ original face push, from 2015-18, is arguably the biggest failure in WWE history. They sunk four straight WM main events into him, only for it all to end with Roman losing to Brock at WM34 in a match nobody cared about.

I was telling my wife about this and she asked a simple question: who should’ve gotten that push instead?

I debated. I think the best option: Kevin Owens.

Why? His promos are real and effective. His matches are consistently excellent. He’s all-in. Most of all, I see fans rallying behind his “fight the world” persona, to the point he’d be the most beloved star of the century.

The only negative? His finisher makes him feel a bit like a Stone Cold knock off. But then again maybe there’s something there… Imagine their WM38 match if KO had been the face of the company headed into it. Could be the biggest match ever.

In my alternative world, instead of an era that generally sucked, KO would’ve had a four-year run we’d be nostalgic for today. Have a better choice?

Discussion MONEY IN THE BANK THOUGHTS

Can we all agree that Money in the Bank was a complete failure from a storytelling perspective? This isn’t me bashing the show but I felt as though it completely undelivered with the bad booking but it was a great show from a wrestling standpoint

Roman and Knight was nearly my match of the year but why the same old booking ? At this point LA Knight may as well leave. This was my favourite match he’s ever been in and now the build basically meant nothing so here we are as Roman in God mode till WrestleMania yet again

Why did Tiffany win again? Can someone tell me? Expect to advance her story with Chelsea. Which is nearly identical to her story with Nia Jax in 2024??
Let’s be real : she did not need the briefcase so we are essentially back in 2024 all over again

Oba and Reed was the best match for me from a storytelling standpoint and at least moved SOMETHING foreword on this show. Now Oba can feud with Bron for another 6 months

Liv won again? What do I even say at this point? How is this PPV even relevant. At least it was not predictable but now we are back to the same old again

Then we head towards Penta and Roman AGAIN even though we know how this plays out. Penta should cash in on El Grande in AAA or it’s a waste of time dealing with Roman

I really enjoy money in the bank but the booking made me so agitated and annoyed, maybe I’ll look back on it in 2 years and like it more? Maybe

Discussion WWE ticket prices are outrageous.

I saw online that WWE was having a Live Event thing at the arena on December 26 near where I live, or Main Event whatever you wanna call it. The prices are outrageous for a show that’s not even RAW, SmackDown, or NXT. For example it’s 200 dollars just to get an ok view.

So is 946 vs Bloodline our War Games match?

Seems like the only feud that would make sense given the timing.

Which title do you prefer? Personally I fell in love as soon as I saw the new version in 2023. I know you can get mad about me for saying this but I was never a fan of og design. I would choose the newest version if I had to.

What are your Wrestling hot takes?

for me it’s that the Attitude era and Monday night wars played a huge part in Destroying wrestling.

yea it was popular but it came at a cost

the hot shot booking, ushering in the era of cool heels and asshole Babyface’s, psychology going downhill and many more.

plus Triple h gets way too much blame for the business going downhill.

business was already going into the toilet in 2001 and 2002 when rock and Austin were still there but no one wants to give them any smoke.

Discussion You know what I find hilarious and really ironic about the walkout segment in 2011?

Post image
5 Upvotes

After 15 years I finally realized a few things segment that is kinda funny and ironic

I'm I the only one who finds it funny that the WWE lockeroom, Announcers, and Referees were afraid of Miz and R Truth after what they did at Hell in the Cell 2011 but when The Nexus showed up to cause Chaos a year earlier nobody not even the heels were complaining or threatening to walkout on the show. Hell the lockeroom actually stood up to the Nexus and fought back instead of boycotting the show. So we're supposed to believe what Miz and R Truth did was a lot worst then what the Nexus did?

You know what is also funny is the fact the WWE lockeroom selected Wade Barrett (the man who orchestrated all the chaos the Nexus caused) to speak for the WWE lockeroom and claim the WWE lockeroom didn't feel safe and call him out for causing Chaos? Predictably Triple H rightfully called Barrett out for his Hypocrisy and it kinda makes the WWE superstars look like idiots for trusting someone who wasn't reliable source when they could've picked anyone else to deliver this message.

It's also amusing to hear the referees be concerned about their safety when doing their job even though the refs had been getting hurt for years at this point. I mean in 2002 referee Tim White got seriously hurt in Hell in the Cell and was never seen again on WWE tv but for some reason no refs complain or threatened to go on strike for this even though they did refuse to officiate the next Hell in a Cell match in 2003

Also at the end this whole thing ended up changing nothing except them getting a new GM (John Laurinaitis) and the same Chaos was more or less still happening. Now it's been said that this whole thing was supposed to lead to a corporate takeover of the company orchestrated by Vince as revenge for what Triple did to him after Money in the Bank 2011 but instead this basically just led to another generic heel authority figure taking over and changing nothing about the show

So I just started to watched WWE after about a 10-15 year break. Why does it seem like it all about the AAA wrestling than anything else. Do you like watching this type? For me it is boring and not one bit exciting.

LA Knight worshippers

Please help me understand why yall think he is so blackballed and done wrong. Like what are some of your favorite feuds of his that i can watch where he has carried a storyline. Clearly a lot of you in the IWC don’t care for Roman, Cody, punk ,etc. But when i see La Knight i don’t see this transcendent world championship run that some of yall thinks he deserves. If it’s about being over yea great i get that. But the way yall attack other wrestlers just to prop him up is strange when there’s never anything behind it. If that “slap you back to factory settings” line he says is what does is for you then i think we need to have a serious conversation lol.

Which woman impressed you the most

Post image

I believe it was the first MITB match for all these wrestlers except for Tiffany.

Which one showed the most potential in your opinion?

Personally I thought Sol was pretty impressive and I could see her being top champion sooner than the rest.

Just...why?

Post image
0 Upvotes

So WWE had the chance to make a new star out of someone they just called up by having them win, but instead, they gave it to someone who has already admitted that she doesn't plan on staying in the WWE long-term because she wants to go into Hollywood. Plus, they're running back the exact same story that Tiffany did the first time she won, where she befriends the champion and then turns on her. What does this do for Chelsea? Because if the point is to make her a sympathetic babyface, she's already there. Honestly, you don't even need the briefcase to push this story. Just have Tiffany turn on Chelsea and set up a title match.

This could've been used to elevate Roxanne Perez, who went from top star in NXT to third member of a forgotten and failed group that exists to push Liv Morgan. It also could've been used to add an interesting dynamic in the group where Liv doesn't trust Roxanne and eventually sees Raquel and Roxanne turn on Liv, which elevates everyone.

This is just another example of terrible booking decisions made by WWE.
