Question: Unanswered Do I report someone for not being on a bicycle?

Got a bicycle delivery person with a female name and profile picture

They showed up in a van with no plates and it was a guy. He delivered the food and sat in my driveway another 10 minutes cleaning out his van. I asked if he needed help with something but he only spoke Spanish so I didn't know what he was doing really.

The question is, this a concern that impacts other drivers and should I report it or just not be a Karen and ignore it? Nothing wrong with order itself.

Edit: mostly just wondering if it's a safety concern with the person being an entirely different gender, having no plates and such

Edit 2: I see a concern from people who actually deliver on bicycles saying they can't get orders because people in cars lying taking them all. I didn't know that saying you're on a bicycle only assigns you short distance orders. If that's the case, people lying are stealing from less fortunate delivery people. Another concern to add

Question: Unanswered can i block an uber eats driver so they can't pick up any future orders?

1.5k Upvotes

so, i ordered uber eats a few hours ago and the driver i was assigned picked up the order, delivered it to the wrong house, the picture she took wasn't my house and the photo was taken from her car, i then called her and she was extremely rude and insisted she delivered it to the correct house and that i came out and gave her a pin and then hung up. so i am wondering if there is a way to block her so she will no longer be able to accept any of my orders, i have reported her to uber but not sure if anything will come of it.

thanks!

Question: Unanswered Am I in the wrong here?

Hi everyone. I just want to see your opinion. I am a disabled woman. I always order to my door. There were three big Costco boxes with groceries in this order. My husband rushed home to help. I didn’t want to disclose to the delivery driver that I’m disabled for the safety reasons. You’d think they know these things happen?? I’ve had countless orders like that and it was always brought to my door.

Genuinely let me know if I’m wrong. And what should I do if this happens again?

Edit: I contacted support and explained the situation exactly like it was. They sent me an email 10 hours later stating they are giving me the whole price back and they’re gonna check on the driver. My friend’s uncle works for Uber Eats and he said they wouldn’t charge the driver that price.

Question: Unanswered Explain to me like I’m 5: What is the point of the delivery fee if drivers don’t get any of it?

I’m extremely confused. Summer Internship ended so I’ve been trying to do some Uber Eats again to get some more pocket money before school starts.

I made a delivery around an hour ago which was a huge breakfast order to an office from IHOP. The office was in one of the more affluent areas in my vicinity and everyone there was wearing suits/formal attire, so I was ready for a big tip.

I follow the directions and take the food up the elevator to someone who I’m assuming was a manger(I guess he was treating his team to breakfast) and he apologized for not tipping more but claimed the delivery fee was over 15 bucks so it “should be fine”. I didn’t try to question him, I just told him it was all good and then went back to my car.

Now around an hour later I see I got 8 bucks for the entire delivery, they tipped three dollars.

Where tf is my 15 dollar delivery fee? If it’s not for me what is it for? It’s not liability since if I would have died in a car crash while delivering Uber wouldn’t have to pay a dime.

Question: Unanswered Randomly Deactivated

This is kind of difficult to wrap my head around because I’ve always marked the orders, obviously, I wouldn’t be able to deliver them otherwise. Could people be claiming that I stole their food? No idea. There are no more details than this, so I don’t even know how to approach my appeal. Is there any chance of me getting my account back?

I'm a student at Penn State and I'm trying to order from a place downtown, but the delivery fee is crazy high. The app even shows how close it is, 0.6 miles. Why is the delivery fee so expensive?

Question: Unanswered Why were we ineligible for a refund?

Thumbnail

A big part of our MacDonalds app order didn’t arrive tonight, and MacDonalds in-app support told us to contact Uber Eats customer support. Their response was that they are unable to give us a refund due to their policy, however they wouldn’t clarify.

This was missing: Big Arch Burger 1 x large fries Oasis (we received a second come zero and my girlfriend doesn’t like carbonated drinks) No sauces

So not only are we down a major part of the order, we can’t get any of the money back and we don’t even know why that is!

Has anybody encountered this before and known why?

TIA

Question: Unanswered The $5 Tip heard around the world

Although this incident was on another delivery platform — what say you about this incident? The driver contends the customer’s address was “out the way.” Would you take a low paying, high mileage order and then express your disdain to the customer upon delivery? Was the driver justified or out of line?

Question: Unanswered Uber cash scam?? 😡😡

I had $20 in Uber cash and I decided to use it on my Wingstop order + a 40% off promo I had. I go to checkout with apple pay and see they’re trying to charge me $21 when I only expected the 0.28 + tip. I saw another post someone posted on here earlier going through the same thing and someone suggested paying with my debit card instead of apple pay so I did but it still charged me the same amount. How do I get a refund??

Question: Unanswered Why did the driver have an attitude?

I ordered delivery, chose the "give code" option and tipped more than 1$ per mile.

The driver gets here, I send the code. "Hello, the code is xxx, thank you!" and they reply "No come get it".

Then they proceeded to wait there knocking until they finally left

Did I miss something there or were they just having a bad day and annoyed at life?

They had the code and a decent tip there's no reason they should have been motivated to wait for me there, or am I wrong?

EDIT: for everyone claiming, "you're supposed to give them the code at the door etc..." that's completely incorrect according to Uber’s policy which requires the PIN to be received and entered to confirm delivery, it does not require the food to be handed directly to the customer. Most drivers are actually happy that they don't have to wait an extra 5 minutes for someone to give them the code and can just complete the order and move on.

Question: Unanswered Driver wants me to cancel order?

Driver contacted me asking me to cancel my Wendy's order, I thought he was asking me to cancel it when he gets close to my place, but it turns out his English is really bad, he's trying to say the restaurant is closed. Not sure why he wants me to cancel it for him. He even called to ask me to, and said something about how his ubereats account was closed. What do I do here?

Question: Unanswered Restaurant sent me a "free Palestine" note because my first and last name are Jewish, uber refuse to address me

Hey all, im staying in a European town for the week with a friend's group.

We had several orders made from this one Asian place using Uber eats with no issues whatsoever.

Yesterday it was my turn to order, after ordering the delivery arrived with a note saying "Free Palestine".

I have no ties to neither Israel or Palestine and I've never been to neither. The only thing i can think about that links me to this conflict is my Jewish sounding name.

Obviously we didn't eat the food fearing it was tempered with.

When i contacted uber support with the photos of the incident i got rerouted to a "mail support team" who responded with a generic "your images didn't match the feedback"

I've tried asking multiple times for elaboration and even added additional images and yet i keep getting the same generic message.

Is there anything i can do?

edit:

The restaurant name is Itoshii HC in Utrecht, Netherlands

The bag was sealed with Staples and the note was inside the bag

UPDATE: After 4 days and 12 conversation threads I finally got escalated in customer support and got a refund. So m annoying and will never use UE again.

I ordered a BOGO 10 piece wing combo and large fries with sauces last night and the delivery was only two of the sauces and the drink. I took photos and reached out to support but they won’t refund me saying that I got all my stuff? What do I do? I’m out like $45 from this I’m so mad.

Question: Unanswered Done with UberEats after 9 years

Today I received the wrong pizza toppings so I chose "Get Help." Filled out the form, added a photo etc. Then I saw a big green face frowning and saying "This order isn't eligible for a refund." I was confused. Never seen that before. I chose the Contact Support option and they responded saying the same thing. So I asked them "Can you tell me why it isn't eligible for a refund?" They say "We reviewed your order and it isn't eligible for a refund." Obviously not answering my question. I then researched this ineligible for a refund thing and saw someone say that UberEats flags accounts that get too many refunds and after a certain amount, they stop refunding you. I certainly have had a lot of refunds, especially over the past year. Why? Because like 70% of the time my order is wrong. I understand the flagging on one level but what about people who are legitimately receiving bad orders at a high rate? So I decided to cancel UberOne and uninstall the app. I'd rather not take the chance of having to pay for a bunch of wrong orders in the future. And what if I was allergic to onions? Would I still be ineligible for a refund? Of course, the UberOne system begged me to stay before I cancelled, even offering me 40% off next month's subscription fee but no. I'll be taking my business to GrubHub +, it's free with Amazon Prime. After about 9 years of Uber, goodbye.

Question: Unanswered Why does uber let drivers make multiple stops after picking up your food?

My food was picked up at 8:52am this morning, with an estimated arrival time of 9:15. It’s now 11:15am on the east coast, and I still don’t have my food.

My estimated arrival time keeps getting pushed back. And the message under that says “Your Order is on the move! X has stops along the way” my new arrival time is 11:45. 3 hours after the food was picked up.

Now, I never use meal delivery apps, so I don’t know if this is common…but 3 hours for a breakfast delivery is kinda crazy, and that’s even if it makes it here by 11:45

Is this normal? I’m from the middle of nowhere, and just moved to the city, so I don’t ever do this.

But why does uber allow drivers to make so many stops after picking up your food?

Question: Unanswered Driver dropped off garbage??

Thumbnail
gallery
94 Upvotes

TLDR: My Uber Eats driver dropped off a bag of rotting garbage in addition to the food I ordered. Uber Eats support did nothing!

I sent a complaint to them- I ended up throwing out my food because I didn’t trust that it wasn’t messed with and quite frankly I was disgusted after opening a bag of rotten chicken bones in my apartment. The driver was not the woman who was supposed to drop it off, and Uber Eats only acknowledged that part.

The order was $60 for a smoothie + wrap + tip. I haven’t even been able to remove the tip for this idiot who dropped off my food/his garbage. How can I escalate the situation? At the very least I want my $10 tip back!
