AI GEN More executions mod
Remember the colonist who threw a tantrum, kicked your antigrain warhead and took half the colony with them? Or the faction leader who kept raiding you back when you were three tribals and a dog?
Payback time. Make the punishment fit the crime.
So I made More Executions to execute prisoners and slaves, and the first method is the electric chair.
How it works
- Research Electricity, build the chair and wire it to your grid.
- Set a prisoner (or slave) to execute: electric chair. A warden straps them in while they struggle, listens to their last words, then throws the switch.
- Three jolts. The body shakes, sparks fly, and the skeleton flashes through the skin, made from vanilla art so it still looks like RimWorld.
It's power hungry
- Every jolt pulls a 2,400 W burst. If your grid can't pay for it, the execution is botched: the prisoner survives, burned and furious, and everyone who watched is upset.
- The surge can blow a power conduit on the same circuit, battery explosion included. Hidden conduits are safe, if you planned ahead.
Why bother?
- Prisoners who watch lose 40% of their resistance and will. Slaves who watch become fully suppressed. Everyone else hears about it.
- With Ideology you can make it a public electrocution: speech, last words, audience, the works.
Same mood, precept and faction effects as a vanilla execution, so your ideoligion's beliefs still apply. Kind colonists will hate you for it.
RimWorld 1.6, requires Harmony, Ideology optional, safe to add to an existing save.

The mods are huge AI lovers, which is ironic because the discord bans it outright because they all hate it.

u/HydroCorgiGlass Try the LMG 16h ago
They even deleted the 800 upvoted post criticizing AI mods under the reason of low effort, despite its discussion.
The mods could have just locked it, but they rather sweep the discussion under the rug I suppose.

We're indifferent to it. The subreddit is owned by Ludeon, which is in favor of freedom of creativity. People can use the tools they want to make the mods they want, as long as it follows Ludeon's TOS and the rules of the platform they post it on.
They're allowed to use AI to make mods, just like you have the freedom to not use them. What we do not allow is the harassment and abuse of other users.

What makes you think it’s AI?
Edit - This comment was posted either before the AI tag was added, or before I noticed it.
I was genuinely asking this person what made them believe the post was AI, they responded, and it is Infact AI

6 mods from a noname, all released within this week, all with links to each other.
the text description is weird too, reliance on threes as telltale sign

Overreliance on, not use of outright.
Usually it's more obvious when the triplet doesn't make sense for logical flow or progression, like "A, C, and B" or reaaaaally stretching for a third point when it would be better just to have one or two succinct points.

With the amount of interesting mods that are made recently, I wish there was a way to just put them in one place because it is sad that some cool mod will be forgotten among other mods.

Dawg this is true of any mod. You're always trusting something some random stranger has written, AI or not.
3
u/ZeusHatesTrees 16h ago
With a human-made mod, at least one person knows what it does, the creator.
6
u/LunarKurai 18h ago
Yes. But the chance of someone deliberately making malware is quite low. Because you'd have to be the kind of person who deliberately wants to make that in the first place, and have the skills to do it, and disguise it well enough.
On the other hand, any person "making" mods using AI could easily blunder into making something that breaks stuff. Purely because it doesn't actually know what it's doing, and neither do they.
One of them has to work hard to create harm. The other can do it easily by complete accident.
-6
u/ZenPyx slate 18h ago
You understand how easy it is to make something really damaging to a PC through a few easy coding errors, right?
Like, if you need to delete files (such as entity data), and you write the command for that wrong, you might end up wiping out entire folders (or even entire disks) - literally a fatfinger between "rm -f" and "rm -r" will wipe your entire game and anything else in the folder you are editing.
At least AI coding agents are less likely to make hugely fundamental errors - and run checks on code they produce.

I guess there’s nothing inherently immoral about writing AI mods. I’m not a modder so I can’t say. I’m sure the mod is cool and it works fine
I just miss the days pre-AI when more people could learn these really cool technical skills like coding or making software idk, instead of letting a robot do it for them. It’s more impressive. And now everything is AI-generated slop. But at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter does it? People will do what they will.
Anyway, you should learn how to mod yourself. You might make something even better than ChatGPT!
Edited to sound less rude…someone said saying “real mod” instead of just “mod” wasn’t kind so I changed it. Sorry about that

There are ethical issues with the use of ai for all applications
From concerns about the origin of their training data, to their environmental impact
But if LLMs are going to be used for something, free mods are one of the better uses
I disagree with your talk about technical skills though
I used to work in robotics, and are also generally skilled enough in a couple languages to code nearly anything
The point of software is user satisfaction. It is not art, it is not meant to be admired for its form, or its process.
The manner in which a website was written is irrelevant to someone’s enjoyment of it (unless you are against the method for moral reasons. If a niche programming language forced its writer to use swasticas in every line, the process mattered. And here, if you object to the environmental harm, or stolen work concerns, then objecting to the process also makes sense)
If it was written in assembly, in a standard language, using an LLM, or using a kid’s simplified drag and drop coding language, it really doesn’t matter
You can admire the writer’s skill all you want. If someone wrote a mod in assembly I would sing their praise in a comment for their post.
But imposing a value judgement, and requesting the author learn how to code?
lol
If a 14 year old wants to make a mod for their fav game, good. If a full time working line cook wants to make a mod as well using ai, good.
Neither of them should have to learn assembly, because there are better options. And nowadays, they shouldn’t need to learn to code if they are okay with this standard of quality
Also, telling either of those people to learn to code, and calling their mod “fake” by referring to “real mods” is rude
This is a real mod
You said it probably works, and if it works it’s a mod. And this person is their author
Edit: I do personally take issue with ai use here though. This is a small mod, if I enlisted my wife, a professional artist, I could have made this myself in an afternoon without the massive environmental damage
I’m fine with the larger ones though, the ones where it would take months, or years.
Like the 3D ones. The assets alone, according to my wife, would have taken infinitely long
I’m not concerned with issues about copyright when it comes to creating free to use mods

u/hhhhjkljsqq1 15h ago
I guess I just view this kind of thing as an artistic form. Up for interpretation.
When I see a complicated, nuanced mod, made by a real person without AI, I am very impressed. Maybe most people don’t take the time to appreciate human made software but they absolutely should.
But, yeah, if AI is going to be used for anything it’s not a big deal if it’s for coding. Because it’s complicated and difficult. I just think it’s odd that people are so reliant on it now. People used to put hours into passion projects. Some still do but now many people just have AI do it. There’s no brain stimulation or learning or anything, not as cool.
Regardless, I do have my personal moral apprehensions about using AI, its environmental impact, the literacy crisis, etc, but it doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. But I do wonder if OP would be interested in making his own mod without AI and learning to code. We need more people like that!

u/adamkad1 Totally not a cannibal robot 15h ago
Even if you know how to code, oftentimes you wont have a idea how you're supposed to code that cool ides you have
0
1
u/ALXS1031 14h ago
There’s no brain stimulation?
If we could all instantly create code to our exact specifications by merely thinking it, that would involve stimulation
And LLMs aren’t that accurate or easy to use
And even if they were
These mods still take design work. Somebody needs to write a prompt that they believe will yield a mod that aligns with a game design that would improve the player’s experience
And since these “ai” aren’t reliable, they usually have to go and manually edit the code, or formulate a prompt so the machine can do it for them
The author is taking the role of the director. In most projects, the director isn’t making the art, or writing the code, but they have a vision they try to make the people under them achieve
Mind you, some projects don’t require art direction, or game design. Like a hair mod, where the author prompts “make Rimworld hair variations and make them a mod”
But something like a 3d or isometric mod requires design, which is why all the ones that have been published look different

u/underhunger 14h ago
You can still learn those things yourself. It just takes so much longer, and not everyone has that kind of time. Current models are better than 99% of coders. If you make something better than ChatGPT, it's a matter of luck or excellent handmade audio/visual assets.

I miss the days pre-digital art when artists would be class-filtered by the expensive dyes and only rich people could sponsor their efforts of creating.
1
u/hhhhjkljsqq1 13h ago
Sorry but I don’t understand. But if you’re making a comparison of digital art to AI, I’ve already addressed that in another comment and I don’t feel it applies.
0
u/wordswillneverhurtme 10h ago
I'm making a comparison to you missing the days where people could learn "these really cool technical skills". The same could be said for literally any skill that basically disappeared for the most part. Survival skills, farming, hunting, painting. These and many more skills are not what they were before. It think its time to face reality that AI will accelerate coding and maybe when AI becomes sufficiently smart it could just fully code games on its own.
1
u/hhhhjkljsqq1 9h ago
That is also true. Let’s hope it doesn’t get to that point though, I don’t want no AI-generated games flushing out real creators trying to express their passion or make a living.
-4
u/Emperor_Atlas 14h ago
I miss when people weren't all in a cyber psychosis. Why is more people enabled to contribute bad?
You're the equivalent of "don't use a drill, use a screwdriver" "don't use a tractor!"
Time moves the other options are still there.
1
-1
u/hhhhjkljsqq1 14h ago
Like I said, my opinion doesn’t really matter. People are going to use AI regardless. Was just adding what I thought after I saw everyone else in the comments debating the use of AI.
Also, I don’t believe your analogy completely applies. When using a drill you’re still putting energy and strength into drilling a screw, unless you had AI hold the drill for you. I’m not very strong so holding up a drill while working on my car is still a work out for me. When you use a digital drawing tablet instead of a pencil you’re still putting in creativity, energy, and thought power. AI takes away all of that.
3
u/Emperor_Atlas 14h ago
I believe it completely applies, the scale is just what you're stuck on.
Should we remove automation because we made hand tools? No, there's market for both.
I get its popular to hate AI but maybe take a step back and think if its really affecting you so much to discourage other people working on things for fun?
0
u/hhhhjkljsqq1 14h ago
I’m sorry if I’m misunderstanding, but I still don’t think your analogy applies. Using automatic tools is not the same as having a robot do it for you.
Holding up a drill —> exercise your arms, your legs if you’re squatting, dealing with the loud noise, holding the screws in place.
Having AI screw in the screws: no exercise involved, no noise etc.
Using a drill is not the equivalent of using AI to create an entire piece of media.0
u/Emperor_Atlas 14h ago
I think you're misunderstanding because its actually easier to teach someone to hold a screw than to use AI to code a specific game mod, test, find assets and upload it.
You are right, they are not equal as one requires education and the other a child or monkey could do.
2
u/hhhhjkljsqq1 14h ago
You don’t need education to use AI.

Guys, is there a mod which adds implant which forces target to not lose consciousness due of pain? Raiders killed my yittakin today and I wanna make a fun for their leader

painstopper multiplies the pain value by 0, so a pawn with a painstooper always have 0% pain no matter the injury

but you can easily edit it with character editor mod if you create a simple xml patch to add a custom gene that increased the pain shock threshold, and then just use character editor to edit it live ingame

there's one that multiplies pain by 0. Which has the same result, but technically no pain.

Any sort of allowance for AI generated slop is a slow killer of any online space and the mods should be embarrassed. Nexus is flooded with low quality AI spam, and this sub is too. Disappointing.
Go do something better with your time. Learn a skill, pick up a hobby. Giving Claude a prompt doesn’t make you a mod author. Stuff like this makes the internet a miserable place to browse.
-30
u/ZenPyx slate 19h ago
I think it's a bit weird to discourage what might be someone's first step into the modding scene. Is this mod going to be well made? Probably not. Will this person ever make a good mod if you tell them to fuck off? Probably not either
22
u/Yanxian 19h ago
OP didn’t make the mod, Claude did. Is Claude going to feel discouraged by my comment? If the mod was human made I’d support it wholeheartedly because it’s difficult to create things, and even harder to put your creation in front of others.
That’s not what’s happened here though.
-8
u/ZenPyx slate 19h ago
As much as you'd like it not to be the case, a person still undoubtedly had input in making this mod. Claude doesn't just make things autonomously.
Ultimately, what will teach someone more about modding - making a shit vibecoded mod, or getting discouraged because modding is a technical nightmare, and making nothing at all?
I'd hope OP learned a few things from this mod and will gradually gain the technical skills they need over time. It's not my job to tell them not to use a tool
8
u/Yanxian 18h ago
This is fair and all, but it’s also a total fantasy. If there’s a single example of a slop peddler going on to make high quality human-made mods I’d love to hear about it.
OP is unlikely to learn anything from this precisely because the majority of AI lovers are inherently uncreative people. There’s nothing for them to learn because why bother? Claude can produce the outcome in half the time, with zero of the required skill set needed to manually code a mod.
You’re defending someone who couldn’t even bring it upon themselves to write their own Reddit post, or create their own preview image. The entire thing is automated from end to end.
I’ll sleep just fine at night knowing I’m discouraging that.
0
u/ZenPyx slate 18h ago
>OP is unlikely to learn anything from this precisely because the majority of AI lovers are inherently uncreative people.
"Inherently uncreative people" is such a ridiculously stupid take, but also - if someone were inherently uncreative, how can you possibly blame them for not having creativity?
Either we all have creative potential, or these people fundamentally lack the ability to make things, in which case, how can you blame them
"human-made mods" are a fantasy. Every single major mod creator (along with almost all software engineers) are using some form of agentic AI for software development. Why do you need someone to sit down and write some frustrating file-loading logic by hand?
9
u/Yanxian 18h ago
How were mods created before 2022?
0
u/ZenPyx slate 18h ago
How was software written in 1965? With paper punch cards.
Have you ever written any code in your life?
4
u/Tommy_Boy97 16h ago
I noticed you avoided the question, with a totally unrelated comparison.
Did ChatGPT or Grok tell you to write that?9
u/Cat_with_cake 18h ago edited 18h ago
I'm all for people trying something, failing, and learning from these failures, and I too think that we shouldn't discourage people from doing their first step just because they'll be bad, that's how people learn, and almost no person does a great job on their first try
But you won't learn if someone else is doing that job for you. And if you're using AI for absolutely everything, from code to even writing a description for the mod, then the chances are you don't even know how the mod works, and from here you don't have a lot of possibilities to improve in the first place
If someone wants to do their first steps - do it yourself. Create a mod with your own hands. It will be messy, buggy or broken. And it's fine, don't let that discourage you. Everyone had their first messy, buggy and broken project. And it's a necessary step for creating good projects
-2
u/ZenPyx slate 18h ago
So what should be done in situations like this? Encouraging someone to delve deeper into the technical side of modding, or tell them that this "makes the internet a miserable place to browse"
>And if you're using AI for absolutely everything, from code to even writing a description for the mod
Like, it's also just possible they don't speak English well. We're making a lot of assumptions here.
8
u/Cat_with_cake 18h ago
Telling someone to do better, to "Learn a skill, pick up a hobby" as original comment said. Coding is a skill, modding is a hobby
And as a non-native English speaker, I've been there. Just write it in your native language and use a translator to, well, translate it. Most people who don't speak English well do that.
2
u/ZenPyx slate 18h ago
A translator? As in, the ones that are powered by LLMs (https://cloud.google.com/translate)?
4
u/Cat_with_cake 18h ago
Whichever the heck you want. Translators are one of the few areas in which I think use of LLMs is somewhat reasonable, after all, they're language models. And are you going to continue trying to nitpick me and get a gotcha moment, or are you going to start arguing in good-faith?
-1
u/ZenPyx slate 18h ago
Code is also written in language, and I'd argue agentic coding tools can be used to translate user-written psuedocode into machine compatible code.
>you going to start arguing in good-faith?
I don't really give a shit about arguing. I think you're just being a bit unreasonable with what could be someone's first attempt at engaging with a game's community
5
u/Cat_with_cake 18h ago
I don't really give a shit about arguing
I see. If you don't want to argue, then let's leave it at that, I have better things to do with my time. Have a nice day, eat some apples, check your blood pressure, wish you the best ♥️

The evidence of your eyes will clearly show that a lot of wannabe crusaders showed up after the fact as well. I'm not siding with OP, AI has a lot of problems, but I am pretty tired of the endless flood of haters. Honestly at this point I half feel like they're bots, with the express purpose of oversaturating the real anti-AI sentiment with a bunch of assholes so people will distance themselves from it.
At least OP is trying to create something. I'll take a goober trying to mod Rimworld with AI over someone who does nothing but witchhunt and spread hate any day. [Which is not to say everyone against it is that person, obviously many creators are anti-AI and vocal about it too.]

Im actually pretty pro AI but my problem with this mod is that its dead simple, if I wanted it why wouldn't I just promp the AI and make it myself?
Not agaist you uploading it to the workshop or whatever but why promote it on reddit.
