I'm genuinely not writing this to be a shitty person. We've literally all googled it, and we want to know. I googled it, and the internet offered me five different medical histories, all written by different robots.
According to the content farms, Ken Paxton’s eye:
One had a sentence that just says the eye “has been the subject of much discussion.” Thanks.
Here's what actually happened, per Paxton himself. He says that when he was 12, kids were throwing hard berry like things after a church youth group, and one hit his eye. He waited three and a half days to see an eye doctor, then spent 12 days in the hospital and went through five surgeries. It permanently affected his vision. That part’s not a joke, and it isn’t new or a sign of anything. It’s an old injury.
The part that I don't get is that he tells this story to argue against health care access. His takeaway from waiting days for care is that Texans should have… fewer options for care? Meanwhile Texas has the highest uninsured rate in the entire country, and most people who suffer the same incident would likely wouldn't be able to actually get the care they need.
What’s wrong with Ken Paxton is a longer list, and you can’t blame that one on a berry accident.
