$60 games w/ a battle pass and a cash shop inside them should be treated like scams

1.6k Upvotes

I just paid full price for a game and the first thing it tried to push me to do was do buy a $20 skin bundle. It's like is $60 not enough? These companies are making billions and we only get such e nerfed experience buying the game versus all the DLC they're trying to sell us. I can't be the only one who is sick of this

I've spent two years making a Doom-meets-Hotline Miami horror shooter named "BLOODVILLE" while in college, and it drops in two weeks.

Hey everyone,

For the last two years I've been balancing college and developing BLOODVILLE, and it officially launches on October 22nd.

BLOODVILLE is a short first-person shooter where you play as Cane, a retired hitman dragged back into killing - and slowly losing his mind.

What to expect:

  • Satisfying Combat - Aggressive gunplay mixed with drop-kicks and crunchy melee.
  • Tonal Whiplash - For every action-packed mission, there's a tense atmospheric/horror segment you must go through in order to progress.
  • Original Soundtrack - A mix of heavy Nine Inch Nails-inspired combat tracks and slow ambient cuts, included for free with the game in digital format.

You can check out the full gameplay trailer & Steam page here: LINK

Happy to answer any questions!

Video FROG IN THE HOLE! - 100,000 physics frogs (Free Demo Release Trailer)

hey! I’m MoonFi, solo dev, usually I make music (so I did the soundtrack too).

FROG IN THE HOLE! is an incremental automation sandbox. You breed frogs, build machines to move them, and sacrifice them into a hole for the frog god.

Stuff I’m proud of:

  • optimized up to 100,000 physics frogs in one world. You can grab and throw every single one
  • snap building: conveyors, cannons, trampolines, ... all in your inventory!
  • skill tree at the altar with lots of upgrades
  • gambling ruby chests and other secrets hidden all over the map
  • a big quests tree!
  • it’s an incremental, so the numbers get very big

It's also part of "An Event about Incrementals" on Steam.

The demo length is ~1h, but most stayed over 1.5h. Over 2,000 people have played it already :))

Play the demo for free on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4983370

I've been working on this game for over one year now and would love to hear what you think!
