Discussion Rip🌸My Angle - Charlie 💔🥺

I lost my 9-year-old dog today due to parvovirus.

The last 12 days have been the hardest I've ever lived through. Every day was spent taking him to the vet, getting fluids, glucose, antibiotics, and hoping that each new day would be the day he finally got better.

He stopped eating, became so weak that he couldn't walk anymore, but he still looked at me every time I sat beside him. He still drank water on his own, and I kept telling myself that meant he was still fighting.

Today he passed black, bloody stool, and a few hours later, he was gone.

I keep replaying everything in my head, wondering if I missed something or if there was anything else I could have done. I don't know if that feeling will ever go away.

He wasn't just a pet. He had been with me for years. He was there through good days and bad days, and now the house feels strangely quiet without him.

I'm literally crying, my tears aren't stopping , for me you are still with us

Rip 💔

Last year I lost my grandmother and now today i lost another family member

I'm shivering rn

How do you cope with this? My dog is 14 years old and if I ever think of him not being with me my body shivers like crazy and I think if someday he dies o would die too because of heartbreak if by any chance I survive something would eventually die within me and I genuinely pray I die with him I cannot come to my house knowing he isn’t there. Idk how long he is gonna live but one thing is sure I'm living my life to the fullest knowing my life is tied to him.
Sorry for your loss.

I used to feel exactly the way you do. Every time I came across a post or video about someone losing their dog, I would scroll away because it terrified me. Sometimes I’d even get up just to check that my girl was okay. I couldn’t imagine a world without her.
Then I lost her this April. I won’t lie to you the first days were some of the hardest of my life. I cried constantly and thought about every what if. But something unexpected happened. Those same posts that used to scare me stopped feeling terrifying and started feeling familiar. Instead of making me panic, they reminded me I wasn’t the only person carrying this kind of grief. I felt understood. I hope your dog has many more happy years with you. Don’t spend today’s joy grieving tomorrow’s possibility. Love him as fully as you already do. And when that day eventually comes, as heartbreaking as it will be, you won’t have to carry it alone. There are so many of us who have loved a dog that deeply and understand exactly what that loss feels like.

That hole that you carry inside you, is it bearable?
