Discussion Indian minds are still colonized(excluding exceptions), majorly all the foreign breeds(lab/golden/husky/chihuahua etc.) are inside indian houses.

Post image

These foreign breeds at home sleep at the couch, bed, with AC, get kisses, eat royal canin/pedigree etc. and our indies are out of Indian homes eating leftovers, getting 2 mins of pampering and then again left on the roads.

Dog lovers and animal lovers who eat non-veg are the real hypocrites in India.

My dog eats meat. I have to feed him nonveg. I like non veg too. Does that make me a hypocrite?

Yes that makes you a hypocrite. You like non veg because you have not deeply reflected about the impact of your actions. It is a very well established ethical principle that eating animal is wrong. You have to take a visit to any philosophy subreddit to find the answer. In addition, you can search slaughterhouse videos on youtube and watch the undercover videos of the way animals are treated in India. They suffer the same way we do.

It's not an established ethical principle that eating animal is wrong. Stop putting conclusions as statements.

You feeling bad for eating animals is a cognitive process that arose because man thinks. Just because you feel bad for animals doesn't mean you can deny the dog his nature. Same way you also cannot deny your own nature. Our digestive system is made to consume both plants and animals. Your teeth aren't flat like a cow, they have canines for tearing meat.

If you give dog food to your dog but refrain from non veg and also preach vegetarianism, you're the hypocrite.

Just because you have not used the same cognitive process to think and reflect on your choices or read some books on animal ethics, you cannot dismiss that a large discipline exists on animal ethics. Your lack of knowledge is not proof that the knowledge does not exist.

I know that this subreddit is very hostile to any suggestion of animal ethics. I have observed and participated in these discussions for a long time here.

I don't know how you guys compare yourself to a cow. Did somebody ask you to eat grass and leaves? Do you eat raw meat? You have to eat cooked food. like a civilized person.

I do not feed my dog or my community dogs meat based dog food. I only feed them 100% vegetarian dog food that I order from Amazon. I suggest veganism not vegetarianism. I bet you don't even know what veganism means but will reply something out of spite to win an argument rather than taking some time to research and read what you're talking about.

Sure buddy use the same ad hominem remarks without scientific basis. Your whole argument rests on "oh no but animal feels pain." This is the same as feelings>facts.

Dont bring the civilisation argument here. Cavemen ate cooked meat too doesn't mean they're more civilised.

If you're feeding your dog vegan food you're denying him his nature. Simple as that. It's even worse that you're not giving him milk based products.

There's enough scientific evidence that vegan diet is healthy for both dogs and humans. There's enough philosophical argument that eating animals is wrong.

Feelings and facts are not watertight compartment. I never understand people who say fact>feelings. What does that even mean? You're a wholly emotional being. Why stigmatize feelings only when it comes to animal ethics? Besides, there is enough scientific evidence that animals feel pain and suffering, show emotional intelligence, can solve puzzles. Do you remember just some months back everyone was sympathizing with punch the monkey? All day the posts and comments on this subreddit invoke "feelings" for indie dogs. How can feelings be wrong?

I don't plan to continue this conversation any longer. It's a drain of my time. There's enough information on internet to read about animal ethics if you're interested.
