Discussion Indian minds are still colonized(excluding exceptions), majorly all the foreign breeds(lab/golden/husky/chihuahua etc.) are inside indian houses.

Post image

These foreign breeds at home sleep at the couch, bed, with AC, get kisses, eat royal canin/pedigree etc. and our indies are out of Indian homes eating leftovers, getting 2 mins of pampering and then again left on the roads.

Dog lovers and animal lovers who eat non-veg are the real hypocrites in India.

So this might be a dumb question, but how do you guys adopt indies?, do you just take them off the street or you visit a local shelter for adoption?

I've got six indies. I adopted all of them from the street, vaccinated and sterilized them and now they're permanent residents of our house. But if you're worried about the dogs past (diseases, aggressiveness, vaccines etc), you can visit a shelter

Thanks for replying. Were they still puppies when you adopted them ? If yes did you separate them from their mother ?

Not all were puppies but most of them were when I adopted them.

The first one was a puppy from our street. His mom lived in our colony and we used to feed her. She eventually got super close to us and became a house dog. All of the pups she gave birth to got adopted except one and we kept him. She was later neutered and died of old age (her puppy is now 11)

The second was abandoned by his mum cause he was the runt of the litter. Usually if the last puppy is very weak and the litter is large, moms will either abandon or kill the last puppy. We raised even before he opened his eyes.

The third came to us when she was a full grown adult. She came from some other street and begged for food infront of our house. We noticed she was pregnant and ended up taking care of her.

Two of her babies got adopted but the remaining three didn't so we've kept it
