Discussion PvE trivialising the game
Managed to Get my research station from 1->4 (had frigate part from last week only) and fully build out the outpost, all in around 2 hours today.
The tension has gone and so has the sense of achievement, all feels a bit pointless to just blast through maps without a care in the world. This isn't the game I bought.
Decided to go back to normal modes and now those are all KOS (i've traditionally been in mixed), so looks like the player base is splitting as people predicted.
Not sure where to go from here, but i'll leave feedback to Embark at the end of this. Anyone else feeling the same?

A lot of us who wanted pve are stuck at work, the chronically online who can play it now are obviously not the target audience
1
u/geogeology 11h ago
I work a 9-5 too, but I’m not dumb enough to forget that other time zones and shifts exist. There are probably tons of hospital night staff, factory workers, etc. playing.
Their opinions dont matter? They’re chronically online?
7
u/rikagwen 17h ago
there are Europeans and its like OP said in EU servers. at 6pm.
16
u/lxSlimxShadyxl 16h ago
Update came out 11am in Europe and it's been non stop complaints since it went live. You guys are literally the chronically online lmao

1
u/CitizenLohaRune 14h ago
Times zones dude. Time zones...
0
u/lxSlimxShadyxl 13h ago
Update came out 11am in Europe, majority players are US and Europe, if you're playing right at the launch time more likely than not it's a chronologically online individual
5
u/RoosterFar9475 16h ago
This might surprise you.. but there exists other regions outside US.
Mind boggling, I know. You know what’s even more wild? There’s a thing called timezone!
3
u/rectalrectifier 14h ago
You know what’s even wilder? There’s this thing called the speed of light!
-2
u/lxSlimxShadyxl 16h ago
I said a lot of us not all of us, there's this thing called reading comprehension. Wild I know, surely it's not exclusive to the US

you still have the choice to not play it, just in case you missed that. I loved the PvE mode today, came back after months of not opening the game and the cooperation with other players to take down the matriarch for instance was great.

u/snake257 18h ago
Yup, this will naturally filter out positive random encounters even more than the aggression based matchmaking did. You will start to encounter PvP'ers exclusively. I miss the old Arc Raiders, when you had a mix of every kind of player in every game... it led to so many fun moments.
26
u/RedDotDon *** ******* 🐓 18h ago
arc raiders when ABMM was just a folk tale was amazing, and i wasnt even a pvper, it was just way more interesting
16
u/snake257 18h ago
Absolutely. As soon as ABMM was implemented, the game became so much more predictable. The unpredictability was the magic sauce that made this game stand out from literally every other game.
11
u/bankfraud1 18h ago
Honestly if they kept the ABMM system but just… randomized it by 20% it would bring at least some of that magic back
1
u/Living-Menu-157 17h ago
I think this concept might genuinely be best for making the most amount of people/groups happy. Either this or having certain items exclusive to PvPvE so players have the choice to opt out but ultimately will have the accept a risk if going for the ”golden goose” or whatever.
Just having PvE toggle like during this week will be bad for the game long term, since it turns mixed lobbies into KoS PvP and thus removes mixed completely from the table
-1
u/floydbot 17h ago
That’s when everybody was still figuring the game out. That’s never coming back and it has nothing to do with ABMM or PvE toggles.
Every encounter is still random. You just don’t like it when other players PvP you when you don’t want them to, like everybody else.
3
u/FRossJohnson 17h ago
You'll get downvoted, but a lot of people absolutely have nostalgia for a time where people hadn't worked the game out and ascribe that to matchmaking
7
18
u/Averagebass 18h ago
Just... dont PvE mode then? I don't get the problem.
12
u/floydbot 18h ago
They’re lamenting their “mixed” lobbies where they could reliably ambush and kill people that were trying to run contracts, fight Arc or otherwise just enjoy the game. The complainers don’t like being hunted down and slaughtered by PvP demons any more than the Care Bears they mock.
→ More replies (1)1
u/Dude_With_A_Pencil 17h ago
i like to play with the tension that i don’t know how players will act in any encounter. it gives a reason to be careful with movement around the map and forces you to be aware of your surroundings, and makes the friendly encounters special and memorable. now there’s none of that, i can’t take any chances trying to make allies with other raiders and the social aspect that made the game special is gone.
1
u/floydbot 7h ago
It’s wild how you guys that constantly lament the loss of your “mixed” lobbies can never seem to find each other in the game
36
u/Content-Passion-4836 18h ago
I’ve played like 5 rounds on PVE and it has to go. This is coming from someone who doesn’t really like the pvp in Arc Raiders. I’m having a realization that the possibility of violence is what makes people more kind.
18
u/mangotime58 18h ago
Yep. It’s gotta go or be a rotating map condition or something. I’m a PvE guy and I don’t want a PvE toggle. The tension is what makes this game.
9
u/constantzen 18h ago
I Absolutely agree, I rarely even shoot back, but the whole tension and adrenaline is completely gone...
8
u/rideronthestorm29 17h ago
Then don’t toggle pve? I don’t understand why it’s so hard for you all to make decisions.
1
u/KiritoJones 16h ago
There isnt going to be the same tension in pvp lobbies when you know everyone in there is likely to kill you because the opted into pvp.
Most of the tension early in this game was not know how player encounters would go. ABMM and now the PvE toggle has killed that, because if you run into anyone with the toggle turned off its smarter to shoot first than it is to wait and see what they do.
2
u/rideronthestorm29 16h ago edited 16h ago
I don’t understand. Just because you opt into pvp does not automatically make you a cold blooded killer. This game has a decently sized player base, we can’t act like we know how every single player will behave. There’s better loot in there. I could argue and say it will be even more interesting to see how players play because they may still be friendly in PvPvE. PVE is great for duos/trios that want a more relaxed experience.
2
u/Dude_With_A_Pencil 17h ago
pve as a map event/condition is the move. it can’t be too common, like it needs to be occasionally unavailable for 24 hours or more at a time.

I'm glad you feel that way, but I have to say it makes me really annoyed that PVE people are now realizing what people have been saying for weeks. Toxic positivity is a hell of a thing. It's like they want a completely different game, so go play a different game. You bought a game by not doing research and are trying to brute Force your way into getting something that wasn't there in the first place.
0
-8
u/AnotherEnemy 18h ago
Just...don't toggle it on? Is that hard?
4
u/Content-Passion-4836 18h ago
The problem is that toggling it off has turned the default game straight to PVP. Tried running the frigate event serval times. An event mind you that needs teamwork to finish it. However it’s many players just shooting other players (who I’m assuming generally want to play PVE) in the back or laying around corners on choke points to just kill people and get a much loot as they can.

It sounds like the majority of the people got what they wanted. Pve or pvp. Though pvp people are whiny they don't have easy targets to rat anymore.
16
u/Frosty-Homework 18h ago
Why is it so hard to understand that people want both PvP and PvE in a PvPvE game?
10
u/floydbot 18h ago
Why is it so hard to understand you 100% still have that? You just want PvP on your terms, like all the players you mock.
9
u/LetMeBeGay 17h ago
What? I liked my matches with PvP tension and PvE elements at the same time.
They have literally split them down the middle with the stupid ass toggle. I can turn it on and do PVE and be invincible, which is a dogshit way to play a game about risk. Or I can play normal, where there are only PvP players right now, and get obliterated on sight instead of experiencing my normal, sus lobbies where I don’t know who is friendly and who is not.
This was a terrible implementation and I am almost certain they won’t keep it—and fucking good, to be honest. PvP and PvE alike need to stop whining. You bought a PvPvE game—you should expect to deal with both. Otherwise, go play a different game.
1
u/floydbot 17h ago
You still have that. The PvPing just isn’t happening on your terms. Which is exactly how the Care Bears felt.
There’s allegedly still a whole bunch of you that want that “will they/won’t they” tension in the PvPvE lobbies. Seems like a good opportunity to make some friends and create the Arc Raiders experience you claim you want. But you’re just complaining that people are shooting at you more than you want to be shot at, which is just like the players you’re complaining about (and the natural evolution of the extraction genre).
1
u/lackofagoodname 17h ago
Hmm, sounds like there's just not enough people who actually want pvpve then
Embark can either lose all of those players or they can do the smart thing and adapt. Harrumphing and saying we all bought the wrong game is just funny at this point
1
u/DeeTK0905 14h ago
Weird, because Tarkov even with both modes. Sees more people playing the core mode at the start of every season with it being 50/50 toward the end.
Hunt showdown is almost 10 years old without ever adding PvE in their game.
Then marathon is going to continue to struggle even with PvE.
Yes, you (general don’t mean you specifically.) did buy the wrong game as you never intended to engage with the core throughout its entire lifespan. So you asked them to adjust it accordingly. Otherwise, PvE wouldn’t exist.
I love lack of nuance for my Reddit meat jock contests.
→ More replies (1)1
u/LetMeBeGay 17h ago
There are plenty of people who want PVPVE. The “magic” that people refer to in the beginning of the game’s lifecycle? Yeah, that was PVPVE.
I can promise you this toggle won’t return. Abandoning PVPVE would be disingenuous to their entire game. They’re likely just doing this to shut the crybabies up and say they tried. Sorry bout it.
3
u/lackofagoodname 16h ago
So your lobbies should be perfectly fine then lmao
The PvE cat is out of the bag and you're just going to have to learn to get over it
→ More replies (4)3
u/r3con_ops 14h ago
Except the ‘mixed lobbies’ players were the majority demographic of players, 40% of total. By separating pve from PvP they will be alienating their single biggest group of players.
Pure PvP players already shoot on sight, so the toggle doesn’t do anything to them. Pure carebear players already had 95% zero player shots matches, so the toggle barely impacts them. The ‘rats’ will find ways to troll in pve matches as already evident in other posts today, and that is really all they want to do is troll and make people upset, so the toggle just shifts their method of trolling.
The group that is most affected by the toggle is the largest player group, and I think it will be bad for the game in the long run.
6
3
u/Frosty-Homework 16h ago
Creating PvP on your terms is entire point of the genre. Being aware of your surroundings and sussing out players to either avoid or engage them is a core mechanic of extraction shooters.
3
u/Les_Liska 15h ago
So why did we add a PvE mode that doesnt have that?
2
u/DeeTK0905 14h ago
Because, the ones who begged for it never actually wanted to play the game as intended. They didn’t want to tribulations of PvP. They wanted the division 2, but with arc and less depth. That’s about it.

They'll never understand dude. This community has become so fucking toxic, and it's always the same shit over and over.
Every time you try and politely explain why mixed lobbies are appealing and kind of the secret sauce of the game, you'll get the same smooth brained shit about wanting easy kills.
This same back and forth has been going on for months and months, and it never changes. The anti "PvP" sentiment in these subreddits is absolutely rabid. They'll never understand how many of us don't subscribe to one group or the other, and why we enjoyed the unpredictability of mixed lobbies. Their brains can't compute anything other than this binary grouping of players, so you immediately get thrown into the PvP camp in their minds and thus everything you say about mixed gameplay is obviously just a conspiracy to shoot the poor carebears in the back.
This game and it's a community are in a death spiral.

u/_Badlands_ 16h ago
I don’t think that the PvP-only and PvE-only players who wanted a hard split were the majority. More like a really loud, whiny minority that just posts 10x more than anyone else

u/vault_nsfw 17h ago
All of you with the "pvp people are whiny, they don't have easy targets" lol, pvp people never had easy targets, that's the whole fucking point, they are in pvp lobbies, not in your snowflake lobbies. On the bottom of the barrel aka "the rats" sometimes crawl down and murder some kitties that then go to reddit and cry how they were killed and lost one of their 200 hullcrackers that sit in their stash rotting away.

0
u/Shroud0199 17h ago
I swear this whole “PVP people can’t rat anymore” argument is so stupid and it shows you’ve never actually been in a PVP lobby, because everyone in those lobbies is just shooting on sight in the first place.
I’m not even against the idea of PVE lobbies(although I think there needs to be changes) I just hate that narrative everyone keeps pushing.

thinking things happen because of crying on Reddit....
1
u/CantHandletheJrueth 17h ago
Why did the player count fall?
1
u/Gamble_Paychecks 15h ago
Because a game like this isn't designed to maintain a high level of interest across the full spectrum of players for an extended period of time. Most people who even get to 200 hours of playtime were probably bored for their last 50+ hours, and most people don't even have 200 hours.
2
u/I_always_roleplay 17h ago

You understand that unhappy people are the loudest? The vast majority of satisfied customers never go online to mention it.

u/I_always_roleplay 17h ago
Sounds like you are picking and choosing what you want to hear and then coming up with your own outcome
0
u/constantzen 18h ago
Most people just want a random experience full of adrenaline, you just wanna loot. They should remove Arcs, and rename it to Raiders only, then you will just loot and extract.
3
u/thejohnfist 17h ago
The fact that most people are doing what they want and a few dozen people are on here bemoaning they cant ruin the game for someone else shows plenty. But hey, only Embark has the real data. I hope we see it.

i don’t want to ruin games for others
i want to team up with other friendly raiders and protect eachother from other hostiles. now that’s all gone, it’s all shoot on sight which is a bummer. the social aspect of the game is gone.
pve mode is extremely boring, there is zero tension.
-2
u/TWS_Mike 17h ago
I cannot believe you(and plenty of others) are this dumb to not understand what has happened to the game because of this toggle…
I play completely friendly until someone shoots at me, not salty when I die, not salty when I lose my purple shit and completely against this mode…
2
u/shomeyomves 17h ago
Its the same braindead take thats been happening the past two weeks.
Anyone that wants the nuance of PvPvE is labeled as “you just wanna rat!!” By crybabies that don’t want to play the game.
Permanent PvE lobbies are absolutely going to kill the game.
1
u/Gamble_Paychecks 15h ago
A game like was never designed to live forever. This huge content update won't even keep the current player count for 3 full months. Just go play normal mode and enjoy the high player count before things go back to what it was 3 weeks ago
1
u/thejohnfist 17h ago
And you my friend, are a sample of 1. If it makes you feel any better, I mostly enjoy PVPVE as well. But I see the reasons for PvE, especially with the swamp full of cheaters in PvP.
1
u/r3con_ops 14h ago
Then you haven’t been playing much. The amount of cheaters has been drastically reduced.
2
u/Additional_Key213 15h ago
If this was to become permanent I don't think it's going to effect the pvpve lobbies too much. My guess is the pve only crowd and the PvP only crowd are a vocal minority and abmm will keep classic lobbies somewhat balanced for those with a balanced play style. The pve only mode is boring and only good for grinding feats or completing quests, can't imagine a huge number of players using it long term.

I love how you guys say this shit knowing full well the game lost like 60% of its players BECAUSE OF THE RATS.
Most gamers won't touch Arc Raiders because of the rats.
"This will kill the game!"
Nah. Games already dead. You killed it. This is Embark trying to save it.
3
u/Dude_With_A_Pencil 16h ago
when i get killed by a rat i just accept it like an adult and say “my turn with the loot is over now” and don’t internalize it as “unfair” and run to reddit to cry about dying in a video game with guns and shooting. literally no one cares about rats outside of this soft discord.
you are going to be so bored of arc raiders when you realize upgrading your benches to fight arc so you can upgrade your benches to fight more arc (only to have your loot stolen by pve players you cannot do anything to stop) is a dogshit gameplay loop.
arc was fun when safety wasn’t guaranteed.
6
u/brianstormIRL 17h ago
The game didnt lose players because of rats it lost players because most people had nothing left to build towards. If rats were the problem new content wouldnt have brought troves of people back, including myself. I put 150h in the first two months, had my fill and left because there was nothing to do anymore. Same as all my friends. New stuff to do? We come back.
Rats were never an issue for the vast majority of players. I can count on 2 hands the amount of times I've been truly ratted, its such an overblown issue.
4
u/maznaz 18h ago
Absolute bollocks. Not everybody is as fragile as you. It lost most of its players because they had explored most or all of what the game has to offer and left to do other things.
1
u/AnotherEnemy 18h ago

- Over 70% of Friendly players and even 40% of PvP players express a desire for fewer hostile encounters and 51% of the surveyed playerbase has expressed an interest in a dedicated PvE option.
Maybe learn to read.
-1
u/AnotherEnemy 17h ago
Are you ok? You get pop up polls at the end of like every fifth match. Embark collected that data for the last year...and then spent millions doing this with it.
Everything else aside, this wasnt a snap decision. This wasnt some sort of Make A Wish Foundation prize. The company that made the game youre playing came to this conclusion.
Shut the fuck up now.

5
u/MarchSharp7158 18h ago
I would imagine that people would run PVE to get what they need and build their stash, the. Start running PVP. It’ll all even itself out… or the game will just die off.
12
u/RaptorJesusDesu 18h ago
Yes that is exactly the problem he’s talking about. Fewer mixed lobbies with emergent gameplay, just all pure PvE or pure PvP like every generic game ever made
5
u/Madness_The_3 18h ago
Explaining that to the thoughtless masses is pointless. They're in their own world, incapable of logical reasoning.
Who cares about historic examples of the same thing happening over, and over, and over again, "this time it'll be different!" they say. (It won't)
But hey! They're just happy they have it their way for all of 2 weeks before they quit the game and move on, because they realized that PvE is boring after 20 hours of gameplay, but PvP's entry ceiling became so high that they get mopped up while kitted in legendaries as if they're on a free kit.
1
0
u/CantHandletheJrueth 17h ago
Not only is it generic but it isn't simply a toggle if it will drastically alter the gear levels of all players in PvP. You cannot say it is "optional" and to just ignore it if players can free farm for days on end and bring that equipment into your games.
What people also forget is those viral moments of the dance party/friendly community stuff was fun and unique BECAUSE of the PvP. It was funny to see some guy just chilling playing the guitar in the middle of a warzone with bodies dropping everywhere, the pvp made that a sight to behold but in violence free lobbies none of that is unique anymore.
2
u/Gredran 12h ago
So go play PvPvE. It’s still there isn’t it?
1
u/Sfxcddd 10h ago
It's just not the optimal way to play now might aswell go pve and loot with no threat and then pvp once your fully stacked with nothing else to do kind of the biggest issue with this whole thing if they at least added more arc and added new behaviours like they can open doors or something so it wasn't so easy maybe it would of worked abit better

No one is forcing you or anyone else to play the mode. I’m really not understanding the fuss.
1
u/dyrannn 10h ago
The amount of people that just refuse to understand what is being said is baffling
“No one is forcing you to play the mode”
Correct, but the mode existing drained pve focused players out of the default playlist. This means that now, they are essentially forced into a binary between the pve mode and lobby’s that are disproportionately PvP focused without necessarily being a PvP focused player themself.
So, while “nobody is forcing them to play the mode,” the mode is having an impact on the default playlist.
Do you understand? Or are you going to go for the typical “there are a bunch of pvpve players so what you’re describing isn’t real despite it being demonstrably real” take lol

I like being able to loot and do missions without being shot in the back but the thrill is gone.
Did they up the arc presence in PvE to make it more difficult? Doesnt seem like it in the few rounds I played.
1
u/Dude_With_A_Pencil 16h ago
the missions in this game are so boring and so dogshit that it’s hard for me to wrap my head around players who want to exclusively do that. arc raiders has some of the worst quests i’ve ever played in a game, but i accepted their only role is to get you into areas to create encounters with other raiders that are unpredictable.
it’s all just “go to x location and hold y” or “bring me x amount of y”
people who need an entire safety mode to play fetch quest simulator are weird.
1
u/JeremyJoeJJ 17h ago
As someone who has stopped playing the game long time ago but wished for a PvE mode back then it's puzzling that the devs just reused maps, loot and mechanics made for PvPvE and just toggled player damage off. It makes sense that it would result in a boring game. The arcs have to be absolutely lethal to force players into cooperation, but the systems in the game were built around occasional PvE since rest of the map was filled with player-based danger. A PvE mode needed to be almost it's own game balanced around PvE, instead of taking a well balanced game and removing a crucial aspect of it. Unfortunate decision on the dev's part.

Agreed. They setup the PVE trail for failure. They also should have raised the loot rewards and ceiling for PVP players.

Don't play it mate, get good or find another game.

u/CantHandletheJrueth 17h ago
The sheer audacity of people begging for pve mode telling anyone else to get good is just amazing to see. That's like bowling with bumpers on and talking shit to all the bowlers around you.

u/Economy_Kitchen_8277 18h ago
That’s not an option.
Arc Raiders was such an epic and successful game because it was PvPvE. Now it’s STRICTLY PvP or PvE.
It’s a completely different game.
There is no tension. There is no wondering, ‘Will this guy stab me in the back?’ ‘Should I stab this person in the back?’ Now it’s just carebears and kill-on-sights. Now that we know who is friend and who is foe, the game has zero tension and is insanely easy.
The game has lost its uniqueness.

Game which peaked to 400k concurrent players on steam and then reduced to 40k. All of my friends stop playing because rats. Majority of 400k players play few rounds a day and would be happy to chill in the park on pve. Not everyone has same goal as you and can enjoy the game the way they want. I don't get the complain you have with new pve as your pvpve is not gone anywhere and you people can still play that mode. Why you need care bear pve players in your lobby unless you are a rat or shitty against sweat lords .

Get good from a PVE player is wild 😭

u/Pirate_s_ 17h ago
I don't get it why pvp sweats complaining about pve players not being in their lobbies 🥱
1
u/Shroud0199 17h ago
I don’t really care about that I just thought your comment was goofy, if I’m going in to PVP lobbies I expect everyone to be hostile.

It appears split, but if it ever becomes a permanent mode, it won't be. It's that way now because everyone is trying it, and once the 'excitement' wears off people will just go back to their preferred mode. Lobbies in PvPvE are more aggressive now because with everyone trying it, the player count for the normal mode has dropped quite a bit. This happens to ABMM during off peak times.
Right now you have 3 groups of people in PvE: (1) Returning players, (2) curious players, (3) and trolls that just want to ruin the mode.
Hilariously, the trolls / people against the mode are contributing numbers to people playing the mode, which will just signal to Embark it's worth keeping. So if you experience trolls, have the satisfaction knowing they are just contributing to the success of the test.
If you don't want PvE, ignoring the mode and playing PvPvE only signals that. Embark only care about the numbers.

So now pvpve went full pvp and the "tough" guys become the carebears? The irony... 🤣🤣

You’re upset at kos? It’s like you’re upset that the PvP is too difficult now. As if you lost the advantage of playing with people who weren’t aggressive. So, you could just roll up and shoot someone in the face, or back, that never saw it coming. That’s what it was like for every player who didn’t want to be in a lobby filled with rats and psychopaths.

No!, for example I rarely ever shoot back, but the whole tension and adrenaline that the game brought is completely gone. This destroyed the core of the game that brought something unique.

Not really. Youll get punished for that and pushed into extremely aggressive lobbies considering where ABMM is at now.

There’s a bunch of wierd posts coming out now downplaying PvE and some are hyper detailed with the occasional ChatGPT/LLM rhetorical imagery as if they’re writing a book on why PVE isn’t good.
“Players stealing loot” -that happens in every game mode, only difference is you can’t shoot the looter.
“Got my gear too fast” “lacking a sense of accomplishment”- how is this a problem for someone who is playing PVE? Your sense of lacking achievements is from the chaotic PvP lobbies. PVE player dominant lobbies have always been chill, loot sharing, guitar and flute playing, arc blasting and emoting havens of perfection. A PVE players sense of accomplishment is downing some arcs, emerging some cool raiders along the way. We get our loot in the round or we don’t, either way we’re just happy to get back in there and care bear it up.
“The tension is gone”: yea tell that to the swarm of arc chasing you, not to mention the little hotwheels bastard on pendola pass carrying heavy ammo and a semi automatic, or space jesus (the rocketeer) sending down reigns of holy power upon us and our little favorite child the shredder.
TLDR: PvE naysayers are going to be working double shifts this week. Grab the popcorn and don’t forget to login and try the new mode fellow PVErs our day has come 🫡❤️

Its a terrible idea honestly - NO PVE mode (as a PVE mode main) and leave the game how it is.

u/thadiusb 17h ago
Are care bear lobbies now completely gone in PVPVE? I don't really want to play PVE, and would much prefer just staying in my care bear lobbies in PVPVE with some tension.

give it a little time it's not gone people's queue data and behavior is very abnormal at the moment
-1
u/Dude_With_A_Pencil 16h ago
yes, pvpve lobbies are entirely shoot on sight so the game we liked is currently gone. theres no tension or chance encounters now, its just pvp only
1
u/thadiusb 16h ago
Damn, well I guess I'll begrudingly play PVE for a week. Im typically good at shooters but find the gun fights in Arc to be tough, especially since the game can be so dark at times. Hopefully the care bear lobbies are back to normal next week. I'll miss having slight trust issues yet friendly encounters with some tension.

u/Dude_With_A_Pencil 16h ago
i’m no good at shooters but i love the pvpve in arc raiders. winning a fight that someone else started against you feels really rewarding, and nothing compares to the tension while trying to extract with your winnings.
it’s just way harder now that everyone in the lobby is exclusively looking to pvp, whereas before a good chunk of players where questing/doing their own thing. it made a good balance of combat/looting
now everyone is just sprinting to the first sound of shooting on the map and the whole lobby gets stuck in 1 massive pvp battle
super lame

You’re just straight up lying lmao. I had 5 PvPvE games today and all of them were still carebear lobbies.

u/Dude_With_A_Pencil 9h ago
i am only sharing my experience, cool that you’re having a different experience from me

Not the tension 291! What will we do without the tension! 🙄

u/RaptorJesusDesu 18h ago
I know, you don’t have to double up your atavan every time you play anymore

Idk, trivialize the core mechanism that extraction shooters require to create moments of extreme relief, vindication and triumph? Lol like what? What ArcBabies type of comment is this?

Most predictable and worst possible outcome for all player bases. Especially after a huge otherwise successful update. Now we will have complaints there’s nothing to do now they everyone can gift shop the new content.

Sounds like you should avoid PvE and stick with the regular game mode... it is great to have options to choose from instead of being told how to play. But I guess some players need to be told how to play the game, or they are lost.

u/WhoWantSome1986 18h ago
He already said the normal game is a pvp hellscape. This is the problem with the pve only mode. Anything else is pvp
1
u/armed_aperture 18h ago
What? PvP in a pvpve game? No way! Poor guy.
1
u/johny247trace 18h ago
Can you not read? He doesnt have problem with pvp problem is that now even mixed lobies went into full pvp mode
3
u/armed_aperture 17h ago
Pvpve doesn’t mean friendly or even mixed. It means killing players and arc.

u/Snoo-46104 17h ago
Your complaining because the players who don't want to PvP aren't in your lobbies anymore.... The mixed players are still in the lobbies, just turns out there wasn't a whole lot of them.
I don't even play but this whole thing is hilarious, idk how the community got worse since I stopped.

u/WhoWantSome1986 16h ago
So you don't play....the you sir are a complete moron for talking about things you don't know.
2
u/Snoo-46104 16h ago
It's almost like many of my friends still play and I frequent Reddit so I have an insight into the game, crazy I know?
Anyway reinstalling to fucks about on PvE mode as we always played trios so never got to do any actual PvE.
