Discussion Apple. What The F***?
galleryas we all know we saw some reddit posts today about the change of the apple music accent color to blue and the icon to black and white vice versa.
WHAT the F*** are they thinking? this is probably the ugliest thing ever. apple music was BEEN known for their pinkish red color. now its some ugly ahh blue that no one even likes. NOT saying blue is ugly.
this specific change for the app is ugly. thoughts?

Discussion [Concept] A modern, ergonomic return for Cover Flow in iOS 27 – Best of both worlds?
Hi everyone, with Apple shifting towards a more refined, retro-premium aesthetic in recent software updates, many of us miss the tactile and visual magic of Cover Flow from the classic iOS era. However, we all remember why it was removed in iOS 7: turning your phone accidentally in list views was frustrating and taking over the entire screen interrupted navigation. I came up with a concept that fixes those usability flaws while bringing back that nostalgic feel in a modern way.
In this proposal, Cover Flow triggers strictly when you have the full-screen Now Playing view open and rotate your phone into landscape mode, preventing any accidental triggers while browsing playlists. Instead of taking over the screen, the carousel is neatly contained inside the album art area on the left side, creating a balanced split-screen layout. When holding the phone horizontally, your left thumb naturally swipes through the mini Cover Flow carousel while your right thumb controls playback, volume, and lyrics. Since all controls stay fixed on the right, you can interact with your music without artwork animations distracting you. I think this strikes the perfect balance between modern productivity and classic Apple soul, giving us a tactile experience on OLED and ProMotion displays without breaking functionality. What do you think? Would you like to see Apple implement something like this?

Discussion New blue UI
Apple Music just got the colors on the Ui updated to blue on the new developer beta of iOS 27.2. In my opinion, it looks bad and very generic. The app icon also updated to plain black and white, as others have already posted.

Discussion New Apple Music colours, and app icon.
galleryIn the Apple Music app on iOS 27.2, red seems to no longer be the colour of Apple Music. Instead the library icons are now black, the navigation bar is white with blue highlight, and the icon is now black and white. What do you think?

Apple Music on iOS I reverse engineered Apple Music
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This has been a personal project for many months. I love Apple Music and their lyrics screen is the best out of any music streaming app. Here’s a demo of the lyrics. It’s a 1:1 reverse engineered creation. Let me know your thoughts.
The main driving force behind this is that Apple Music doesn’t let you see karaoke lyrics on imported/synced songs from computer even if they’re embedded into the song file itself. Instead, they show you a text view that you have to manually scroll with your finger. Now I no longer need to worry about this because I have my own Apple Music app 😭✌️

Apple Music on macOS Helix 0.6.0 - Alternative Apple Music client for MacOS
As some of you showed interest in this project I made it open source on GitHub.
Helix lets you play everything on Apple Music when set up correctly.
You’ll need the wrapper-v2 (check the readme)
So unfortunately its not plug and play as this would require using Apple Original code which wouldn’t be really smart.
Hope you’re having fun using it, let me know if you got any questions.

Question How to turn off apple music autoplay ?
I don’t have premium account but the moment I connect my phone to earbuds, the apple music starts playing by itself which are mostly ad songs. It’s getting annoying, how to turn it off ?

Question Random voicemails from a local city council appeared in my Apple Music library out of nowhere. Has this happened to anyone else?
I opened Apple Music this morning on my iPhone and noticed two new files under "Recently Added".
When I played them, they turned out to be voicemails from someone working at a local town hall/city council looking for an ecologist. I have absolutely no connection to this, and I've never heard these audio files before.
To clarify a few things right away:
I didn't receive anything via AirDrop.
Nobody sent me these audio files via text/email.
I haven't manually imported or downloaded any files to my library.
I didn't use my computer or iTunes recently; this literally just appeared overnight on my iPhone.
Has anyone experienced a similar bug or cross-sync issue recently where random third-party audio files or voicemails showed up in Apple Music? Could this be an iCloud database mix-up, or is there another explanation?

Tool My app MusicDrops 2.0: new-release alerts for artists you follow on Apple Music, now with a monthly recap of your artists' drops and a full redesign
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I make MusicDrops, an app that tells you when artists you follow release new music.
2.0 is out now, with a once-a-day option and monthly recaps.
I'm the developer. Quick background if you haven't come across it: Apple Music's own new-release notifications never worked reliably for me. With about 20 artists followed I was missing roughly 4 out of 5 releases, and I found one album almost two months after it came out. MusicDrops checks the artists you follow and tells you when they release something.
How it ties into Apple Music: it's built on Apple's MusicKit, so it reads the Apple Music catalog and your own library directly, with no separate login. You can import the artists from your library instead of adding them one by one. Each release page has a button that opens it in Apple Music, or in the iTunes Store if you don't subscribe.
2.0 went out yesterday. The video shows the main new thing: a monthly recap of everything your artists put out, plus a weekly one after a busy week. You can share it as an image if you like.
You also decide how often it notifies you now: right away, one summary a day, or only a weekly recap. If ten of your artists release on the same Friday, that can be one notification instead of ten.
The video shows the other new thing, a monthly recap of everything your artists put out, plus a weekly one after a busy week. You can share it as an image if you like.
Smaller stuff: deluxe and alternate editions that only exist on the iTunes Store now show up on the release page, and every screen got redesigned, with layouts for iPad and iPhone Duo.
It isn't instant, though. iOS decides when apps get to run in the background, so a surprise drop turns up at the next check, not to the minute.
Other things it does: a timeline of what just came out and what's coming, alerts for announced albums with a reminder on release day, and an alert when a track from an upcoming album becomes playable early. No account, no ads, no analytics. What syncs goes through your own iCloud, there's no server of mine.
Free for up to 10 artists. Unlimited is €1.99 a month, €14.99 a year or €44.99 once, and Family Sharing works on all three.
If it misses a release for you, tell me the artist and the record. That's the bug report I care about most.

Apple Music on iOS Apple Music Automix Popups
This may be a random tiny issue, but has anyone been running into the issue that every time you open Music and select the song, it defaults to the queue window and the little info box explaining auto mix keeps popping up? The same thing happens sometimes with the pop up explaining how to favorite. I've tried turning auto mix on and off as well and restarting my phone and doesn't seem to work. I guess the next step would be to remove Music and redownload it.
