Apple Music on iOS I reverse engineered Apple Music

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This has been a personal project for many months. I love Apple Music and their lyrics screen is the best out of any music streaming app. Here’s a demo of the lyrics. It’s a 1:1 reverse engineered creation. Let me know your thoughts.

The main driving force behind this is that Apple Music doesn’t let you see karaoke lyrics on imported/synced songs from computer even if they’re embedded into the song file itself. Instead, they show you a text view that you have to manually scroll with your finger. Now I no longer need to worry about this because I have my own Apple Music app 😭✌️

A combination of dynamic and static analysis. Vphone-CLI and Frida does wonders!

That’s so cool. Something I’ve desperately been wanting too is letting us upload live album cover arts for imported songs or just playlists but I’m wondering if that would even be possible.

Pfft this is mad honestly. Thought it was Apple before reading the caption. Did you use TTML files for the lyrics?

I have a repo for this that analyses your songs and generates the elrc file: https://github.com/Nathan1258/lyricarr

You can see the result of a song here: https://www.reddit.com/r/jellyfin/s/9o7n7pRKk7

The video in that example is NOT Apple Music, it’s my own beta app lol
