Rant/Vent Got pregnant three times right away. Struggling for a fourth.

As the title says, I had no problem getting pregnant straight away three times no problem, was pregnant in no time but for some reason I can’t get pregnant for a fourth baby. We’ve been trying for 6 months and nothing. I’m 30 and my partner is 37. Not sure if age plays a role but I’m wondering why all of a sudden I’m not getting pregnant. :/

It's normal for conception to take up to a year of your under 35. There's about 30% chance per cycle. You just happened to land early the other times.

At 30, that’s probably not coming into play yet.

What is his daily health like-is he on any medications that could be impacting his sperm count or quality? Does he wear tight mens underwear or loose boxers? Does he drink or smoke very regularly? All those can come into play.

How are you tracking your cycle and are you seeing consistent ovulation? Are you taking any prenatal supplements?

I got pregnant in my first cycle 2 times in a row. Now I'm in my 4th cycle for #3 and not worrying about it at all. It's just luck. That being said, I will get checked after 6 months because of my age and my partner's. You've still got a lot of time.

I’m TTC my 3rd and in the same boat - also 30. I’m on cycle 8 now. I will say, my OBgyn was willing to do a simple workup at 6 months (ultrasound, labs, etc) just to see if there were any issues with things like thyroid or fibroids. While mine was all normal, it has made me feel a little better about the possibility that I’m just going to fall into the closer to 12 months category. Could be worth asking, if that’s appealing to you! Hoping for the best for you! 💕

Same situation with my first 3, I just turned 31 but had every test available ran and everything was normal except that they found an Isthmocele (c section scar defect) which is known to cause secondary infertility. We had been trying for 5 1/2 years before this was found! I just had the laparoscopy to repair it 7 weeks ago now so we can TTC again at the end of November. Other than that, there was no other explanation for the infertility

Got pregnant first try at age 27 and then when we were 30 we couldn't. Husband had low sperm and motility when tested, at age 30. We both ran multiple times per week, don't smoke etc. I can't think of anything other than age that caused the difference for us. Very well could be that for your partner. They recommended IUI to us.

At 30, age is unlikely to be a factor. How long ago was baby #3 born?

Up to a year is definitely still normal, but also secondary infertility can happen. We got pregnant quickly with our first two children. When we started trying for #3, I quickly got pregnant but it was a chemical then nothing for a year then 2 more chemicals and nothing again for 3 years.

We were unexplained secondary infertility. All testing normal, months of clomid, 3 IUIs, all with no success and no known issues. We started trying for our third the month before my 29th birthday.
