I’m just feeling so scared during this two week wait. I’m so anxious all the time.

Today is a hard day and I've been crying on and off. I'm officially benched this cycle.

Just started taking fluconazole (which I was trying to avoid but I'm just not getting better) and I'll only be halfway through my course of meds on O day. The pharmacist told me it wouldn't be safe to TTC month, which is what I expected. My doctor's office was super late getting me my meds, otherwise I would've been able to finish them in time.

I'm just so angry and sad. The next cycle feels like it might as well be a year away right now. And to add insult to injury I feel like our chances would've actually been better this month because my son started randomly sleeping the night for a full week and we've cut way down on nursing, which likely won't last. Sorry for the depressed ramble, I'm just not in a good spot today

I’m sorry that is so so frustrating.

We started not using protection back in November/December last year and now our baby is 1 we definitely would like to get pregnant soon. I have no period and I am still breastfeeding maybe 4 times during the day and 2-3 at night. I recently went to see my midwife and she said it's the breastfeeding preventing me from ovulating. She suggested cutting out the night feeds maybe just starting with one as I have been having stronger period/pregnancy symptoms now that were not there in early November last year. I'm also not really ready to give breastfeeding fully up because my little one finds so much comfort in and I know it will stress him out so much. My husband even suggested just stopping all together, which I'm not doing unless our little one decides that for himself. I think my poor husband, who is older, is just concerned about his age more than anything so I have to give him grace that he jumped so fast to give it all up.

Does anyone know anyone that got pregnant while breastfeeding or has any tips on checking or helping ovulation return?

Ughhh well I’m really happy your scarring hasn’t returned ❤️ but gosh am I mad at your doctor for you. Can you maybe switch to a different doctor in the practice?

Honestly I think if you called and said like “I’ve had rpl and I disagree with my current doctors treatment plan. I would like to switch to a new provider and have it reevaluated” they’d have to do something. You might get the same answer from the new doctor but at least they’d know you mean business

That's really good news about the scarring at least. I'm so sorry about the doctor though. I feel like people who can't be compassionate and provide patient-centred care shouldn't be in this profession and especially shouldn't be specialists in a field that has so many emotions attached. It's so exhausting to advocate for yourself over and over when someone just thinks the know better and shuts you down

Like you said, it is good news the scaring isn't back. The bad news is, there is question in the air for why you're having repeat chemicals. But, then again, you have every right to send that bitchy email. Like, you were wrong, doc, so let's try something else.

I know this is their job and they probably get tired of their job like anyone else. But they forget that they're working with people's health and people's families. They're impacting how we live from the day to day.

Do you know if this doctor will be open to trying doxy now that it's obvious the scarring isn't back?

u/Head-Requirement828 32 | TTC#2 Grad |🩵Aug 2024 🩵Dec 2026 | Endo; MFI Feb 20 '26

2 or 3dpo and I can definitely tell. The emotional shift has happened. Went from "Well why can't it happen?" And "This could be our lucky month" a few days ago to a bitter, sad, and angry, "Why be hopeful? This isn't the month. This won't work."

Hard work is supposed to pay off. Why is it not paying off? Why do some people get the reward without working hard at all?

1

u/idontcareaboutaus Feb 21 '26

I feel that last part especially hard and I’m sorry 🫂 you’re doing everything right and I hope it pays off for you soon!

This exactly! I am ovulating now and optimistic but give it a couple of days and I'll be moping around waiting for a BFN.

The only thing that brings me some solace is that, several years ago, I was having those same bitter thoughts just days before testing positive with my son. Moments before, even. So I know my emotions and "intuition" don't mean shit. Both when I somehow do get pregnant, but also, when I am convinced I am pregnant only to get my period a few days later. 🤡 I know nothing and anything can happen.

Only got in one round this fertile window, but it was on the day of my positive OPK. So going to stay hopeful while the TWW starts.

Yesterday marked exactly 4 years since my positive pregnancy test for my daughter, and we also found out that she got into our first choice preschool! We picked the 5-day option with the hope that we would have another by then and it would make things easier.

If this cycle is successful, the due date would be 3 days after my daughter's was, which is for some illogical reason making me feel hopeful about this cycle.

2

u/Royal_Aioli5635 37 - TTC#2 since Nov25 Feb 20 '26

Congrats on the preschool- that’s brill!

I feel you on the illogical hope- my heart skipped a beat when I realised if we were successful this cycle then a due date would be pretty much bang over our wedding anniversary. Probably wistful thinking, but sprinkling baby dust your way!!

11dpiui. I’ve decided not to test today after going down a rabbit hole last night. I’d like to hold on to my hope just a little bit longer, so Sunday (13dpiui) it is. If it’s negative, I can stop the progesterone and prep for round 2.

My hysteroscopy (polypectomy and D&C) went well. It was super quick and my cramps are already gone, but I am bleeding a bit. I hope this is the beginning of the end of our TTC journey but I'm obviously guarding my heart. Reminding myself the polyp could have just been a coincidental finding and not the true issue.

I just want to complete our family and give my girl a sibling. So ready to be done TTC forever lol.

11dpo, still haven't tested and I still don't have the urge to test (thankfully). I think Things Are Happening™️ with my boobs, so that's a fun newish PMS symptom. We have a meeting with kiddo's school today and I am not ready to deal with that. My social battery is just about depleted and I just want to sleep. At least it's Friday? 🫠

Stuck in a stasis of indecision on life changes pending this hopeful 2nd baby. If we have another, we’d want to move to a bigger house. We need the repair our kitchen and if we are moving we’d just to the basics but if we are staying we’d do some larger changes. I’d also like to get started on the kitchen so if I’m pregnant I’m not doing it in the third trimester since I had blood pressure issues with the first and a renovation does not help there at all.

4

u/sparklesequin 36| TTC#2 since 1/25 | 🩵 1/24 Feb 20 '26

Oof stuck there too (albeit with less major changes). If baby #2 happens, there’s a whole list of things I want to do to our house. If it doesn’t happen, there’s professional stuff I want to entertain (and still stuff to the house, but less intense), there’s trips I want to plan, etc.

Being stuck in TTC sucks. I’m sorry.

u/Agreeable_Let5572 Feb 20 '26

Hey guys! 12 DPO and negative frer this morning. Im assuming it’s safe to count myself out this cycle? Of course I want a positive but it’s the uncertainty that is driving me nuts! I’m pretty much excited from my period to come at this point

3

u/caffeinatedcatss 28 | TTC#2 | MMC 10/2025 Feb 20 '26

A negative at 12 dpo is usually considered pretty definitive. I would count myself out at that point.

I feel you. I always stress until AF arrives regardless of likelihood, but it would be unlikely unless you ovulated later than you think.

Has anyone got any experience of TTC while still BF/short luteal phase? My daughter is almost 3, been trying to wean for a while but she is very attached. She's day weaned and doesn't nap so only has milk before bed and if when she wakes in the night. I was hoping this would be ok, but it looks like my luteal phase is still short. I found out on Wednesday during a hysteroscopy to remove it, that my IUD had fallen out at some point. My first PP period happened 2 weeks after my GP tried to remove it last June, so I'm guessing it fell out then.

I would suggest asking this in the BFP/Grad thread- I think you might get more answers there! It’s against the rules to talk about ongoing pregnancies in this thread. 😊

was listening to the fertility docs podcast and learned that not conceiving for a year means chances of conceiving naturally is only 1% per cycle?! that’s so low 😭 HSG scheduled for monday, hoping that’ll do something!

6

u/BexclamationPoint 43 | alum | 💙 2022 💙 2025 Feb 20 '26

Our sub's Wiki has a great post about the stats for TTC#2+ that may be more relevant and more encouraging!

2

u/chasingsunshine521 32 | TTC#2 since 1/25 | 💙 7/23 | MC 8/25 Feb 20 '26

thank you for this!!! much more optimistic and uplifting than the 1% stat!

7

u/idontcareaboutaus Feb 20 '26

I’ve heard that statistic too and it’s pretty depressing. I think it refers to unexplained infertility as a diagnosis - which is in both people trying for a first and people trying for another. I like to think the stat is more forgiving for those trying for another but that said I also wish I saw a fertility specialist sooner. If anything they can help rule things out and provide “fixes” for simple fertility hurdles

9

u/Consistent-Wall8766 34 | TTC#2 13/12 | 💙 Feb '24 | Grad Feb 20 '26

That statistic may include couples who have never conceived before and it will be being pulled down by those couples who have never and will never naturally conceive. As we have conceived before our chances should be higher, but I appreciate that doesn't help you feel better when you're in the thick of it.

Equally I just feel like that stat is off altogether to be honest. It doesn't align with what I have read elsewhere.

4

u/auditorygraffiti 32 | TTC#2 Grad Feb 20 '26

It does include people those people! I think there’s a link to the research in the Wiki. The statistic improves when you account for people who have conceived naturally and I think also people who have conceived via medical interventions like fertility drugs and IVF.

Four days post hysteroscopy and removal of adhesions. What we thought were a couple bands of scarring turned out to be half my uterus fused shut. My RE was thrilled with the result, all scarring cleared, full uterus and tubes visible and done in under an hour (thankfully I was asleep). I’m now on estrogen as we shift our focus to ensuring the scars don’t return. Have a follow up consult in a couple of weeks, then likely a SIS at the start of my next cycle to check for scars. Taking every supplement under the sun and doing acupuncture. Please send your anti scar vibes this way ✨
