I’ve found quite a few autistic people I know will tell anyone any chance they get. Comes up a lot in conversation—to the point where it sometimes feels like they’re trying to make it their entire personality.
Maybe I can educate the 3 of you. It’s about heading off the judgy questions that come because we are always communicating in the wrong fashion based on all the unwritten rules there are for “regular” people to communicate. Don’t mention being autistic and it’s like well who the hell is this person saying this or that. Say you’re autistic and it’s like why tell me you’re autistic. Autistic people will share all kinds of info unasked for because they have information and want/need to share it. People think that’s annoying.
It’s never the “right” communication ever for you people.
Also, making a generalization about a population of people is really narrow-minded and ignorant.
Celebrate people’s differences. Don’t be so judgmental about what you don’t understand.
I’m being genuine when i say i see all these different people stating that they have autism sometimes multiple times a day, both online and in person. Its pretty hard not to think its become some weird trend or badge of honor(?) and there have been several occasions where the person admits to self diagnosing which doesn’t help either.
preach. the "making it their entire personality" comment was so insane and frankly rude. we're talking about a visible difference in brain chemistry and neurodevelopment, cut people some slack.

Why did you mention you’re autistic, what in the world does that have to do with anything
