u/Budget_Bag4730 Jun 24 '26

This is what the Chinese Pablo Escobar looks like.

24

u/treelife365 Jun 25 '26

We found Pablo at a very Chinese time in his life.

4

u/wuyiyancha Jun 25 '26

I always feel like lil Tea Pablo when i get a big order. Love it.

361

u/steelskull1 Jun 24 '26

Is this a tea equivalent of posing with bags of drugs?

644

u/Bananenplantage Jun 24 '26

Why are you using a fist emoji instead of your real fist?

612

u/Brave-Rooster-5322 Jun 24 '26

76

u/changchangcha Jun 24 '26

The joke ran a little oolong

35

u/Soul_trust Jun 24 '26

Yeah, it should've been cut shou-ter

14

u/striveforfreedom Jun 25 '26

Hei Hei Hei !! Cha'll... that's enough.

12

u/toriaezuocha Jun 25 '26

Please let’s stop. I’m sheng-sitive about tea jokes.Ā

3

u/striveforfreedom Jun 26 '26

well just Shou then !!

91

u/JorgJorgJorg Jun 24 '26

dang, 18kg, good luck!

126

u/LPedraz Enthusiast Jun 24 '26

How... long is this going to last you? Doing some quick napkin maths it would last me easily 5 years, and that is assuming I never had any other tea...

140

u/Brave-Rooster-5322 Jun 24 '26

2-3 years for me and girlfriend

98

u/mrdeworde Jun 24 '26

Handsome dude and a giant pile of tea? Lucky lady. If you don't mind a serious question though, what are the orange boxes? Tea bricks?

57

u/Brave-Rooster-5322 Jun 24 '26

Thnx. Yeah, thats da hong pao and gabba pressed in bricks.

31

u/Fushiro0 Jun 24 '26

You can get Da Hong Pao pressed in bricks? I'm curious now, do you mind sharing how it is (once you've tried it), how much it costs, where you found it?
Idk, for some reason I've never really thought of pressed oolong before

36

u/Brave-Rooster-5322 Jun 24 '26

I was shocked too🤣 So i decided to try, will write my opinion after tasting

6

u/mrdeworde Jun 24 '26

This is the second time I've seen it and I'm also curious. It's certainly a neat form of packaging - one vendor I saw had it compressed in gold foil mini bricks sort of like a kitkat bar or those "Merci" chocolates.

3

u/Which_Loss6887 Jun 24 '26

Bitterleaf sells little 7g coins of pressed oolong. I got some with a recent order, but not gonna open any new oolong for a bit while I finish what I have

7

u/mrdeworde Jun 24 '26

When you get to them, please consider posting about it; sounds like there's interest.

5

Of course, but one can still be happy for another's good fortune, surely? It's not a zero sum game. šŸ˜›

18

u/Prestigious_Gur9390 Jun 24 '26

Ou avez vous commandƩ ?

18

u/mrmopar340six Jun 25 '26

You gotta pack some away for the future since it's puerh. Gets better with age stored properly .

2

u/DBuck42 I sample Jun 29 '26

That's a solid pumidor!

1

u/mrmopar340six Jun 29 '26

Indeed. Just shou in that one. Much more around here.

Were you flipping the bird‽ Haha

Nice stash.

36

u/Appropriate_Ad2342 Jun 24 '26

I feel poor simply by looking at this

15

33

u/GlassJustice White Trash brewing Jun 24 '26

I cannot imagine how much that cost šŸ’€

28

u/Brave-Rooster-5322 Jun 24 '26

I don't even want to remember🤣

12

u/IronPeter Jun 24 '26

I like puer, but I drastically reduced consumption as I noteiced it stains teeth more than regular tea.

Since OP seems to use puer tea also from brushing teeth and as water to take showers, and the teeth are not horrible, I should give it a try again.

6

u/Brave-Rooster-5322 Jun 24 '26

bro😭🤣

6

u/Killadelphian Jun 24 '26

Post the order !!

8

u/MiMiniMint Jun 24 '26

woah woahhh that a lot 18000 grams of tea. That equal to like 2250 session of tea!! Where did you purchase these tea from?

8

u/koala1125 Jun 24 '26

Will the tea not spoil before you are able to finish it? Or does this not happen with tea?

32

u/Brave-Rooster-5322 Jun 24 '26

Thats pu er, so it will be šŸ†—

19

u/Which_Loss6887 Jun 24 '26

To answer your second question more thoroughly, some teas do fine or even improve when aged under the right conditions. Pu erh in particular, but also heicha and some whites. I’ve heard tell that there are black teas that taste best at maybe 1-3ish years old (again, under the right conditions), but to my knowledge you wouldn’t want to age them much longer than that. Usually, tea that is meant for aging is pressed into cakes and wrapped in paper, but this isn’t a hard and fast rule.

Many teas definitely do spoil in the sense that they get dry, dusty, and flavorless, or stale-tasting, or could even mold if exposed to enough moisture. Especially with green or oolong, ideally you shouldn’t be stocking up on more than you can drink within a year or so unless the vendor says that particular tea will tolerate aging.

4

u/koala1125 Jun 24 '26

Thank you. That is so helpful

3

u/81659354597538264962 Jun 25 '26

Pu’er lasts an eternity and only gets better with time

Random, can’t tell if it’s an artifact or if one of your pupils (left) is larger than the other. From what I’ve learned from all the browsing I’ve done on Reddit, might want to get that checked.

EDIT: u/Brave-Rooster-5322 go to the doctor!!!!

6

u/Ordinary_Cow206 Jun 25 '26

Yeah something’s off. Send me the tea before you die please

Hello, /u/Brave-Rooster-5322! This is a friendly reminder that most photo posts should include text with some additional information. For example: Consider writing a mini review of the tea you're drinking or giving some background details about your teaware. If you're posting your tea order that just arrived or your tea stash, be sure to list the teas, why you chose them, etc. Posts that lack a comment or body text for context/discussion after a reasonable time may be removed. You may also consider posting to /r/TeaPictures.

u/PreperationOuch Jun 24 '26

I thought you had like six digits

1

u/Freijaren Jun 24 '26

How much do y'all drink per day in grams and how do you store them?

1

u/tangamangus Jun 24 '26

epic haul... whats your favorite sipper right now?

1

u/Taiyou0102 Jun 24 '26

Gotta know where u ordered from nice haul!

1

u/WhiskyMochi Jun 24 '26

Okay, I have to ask (someone’s got to go there):

HOW MUCH DID THIS COST YOU??

1

u/MarzipanKey3030 Jun 24 '26

May I ask why only cakes and bricks?

3

u/Brave-Rooster-5322 Jun 24 '26

90% are puers, i just like them most

1

u/dnbrandon Jun 25 '26

Nice haul! Where did you buy? Got a link to that da hong pao?

1

u/dnbrandon Jun 25 '26

Ah disregard, I see it's from nie qun oleg!

1

u/aprudholmme Jun 25 '26

I'm jealous that you're able to afford that much pu. But I'm more jealous because you're young enough to learn to appreciate all the variety and nuances, and age it if you want. I didn't start drinking so-so quality looseleaf teas until I was 35 and only found out about heicha and puer six years ago.

How long have you been into better teas\puer? Did you learn about it from a friend or family?

2

u/Brave-Rooster-5322 Jun 25 '26

I was in China in my 18 yo (year ago). And start drinking Chinese teas.

2

u/hnpg_2017 Jun 25 '26

Where did u order from ? Can I have a list of tea u ordered and the link if u dont mind? Thanks

The physical and mental health benefits or risks of teas and tisanes are complex topics which are not covered by this subreddit, and discussion of them is not allowed. Posts about products that are typically only consumed for health reasons will be removed.

1

u/FYou-Tucsonmods-7656 Jun 25 '26

1

u/Bullshitman_Pilky Jun 25 '26

1

Do you guy really know Pu’er tea? I’m a Chinese living in this tea area and also enthusiast of such tea culture. We may make a friend should you be interested.

1

u/Spare_Juggernaut4365 Jul 23 '26

Hi guy,I have true fresh Pu’er in fact true name being Bu Long tea in bulk which tastes really better than these regular types which in Chinese is almost be seen everywhere.

1

u/Informal-Noise-2722 Jul 23 '26

Excellent, all Chinese tea.

Go white boy, go!Ā

6

u/EducationalWind8489 Jun 25 '26

With modified punctuation ā€œGo white! Boy go!ā€that could be a joke as in ā€˜go get white tea.’ Inferring that your preference is for white tea over Pu’er. But then there is some Pu’er that is white tea (ye Guang bai).
