Hi... I am a woman in my early 60s, and my 10-year-old desktop PC is having issues more and more frequently. It's on Windows 10 and I am signed up for the ESU, but I fear my PC may be about to give up the ghost.
I'm not a total technology dunce, but it's not my wheelhouse, and I prefer a basic, reliable PC where I don't have to bother with the technology aspect of it too much.
The main thing is that I am partially disabled, with a bad case of repetitive strain injury in both my arms. I use an app call Dwell Clicker to click the mouse for me most of the time. So I really don't want a laptop or tablet. I want something where I can plug in a monitor, keyboard, and mouse of my own choosing. So I can position all those things exactly where I want them. I'd also like a PC with regular USB posts so I can physically plug in the mouse, keyboard, and a microphone.
I use my PC just for browsing the internet, email, watching youtube videos, and my main hobby: genealogy. I do occasionally like to play puzzles and games on sites like iWin and USA Today Games, but I've never been into serious gaming.
Even with all my genealogy files, I still have a ton of empty disk space on my current computer, so I don't need a lot of storage.
Also, I enjoy burning my own music CDs, so I'd love to get a computer that can read and burn CDs -- or at least a computer where I can plug in an external drive to burn CDs.
Of course I would prefer something less expensive, but I also want a machine that is good quality and reliable that will hopefully last me for many years.
I'm used to Windows so would prefer not to switch to a different operating system.
Thank you in advance for any advice or recommendations you can offer!
