As long as we can buy them in game and not have to go through idiot systems like Wikelo, I don’t mind. Classic ship showrooms also sound really cool, although knowing CIG, that’ll be years away

12

u/citizensyn 1d ago

Yeah you will have to go through wikelo which I think only has Taurus atm

25

u/ACR96 Spirit E1 | Starlancer Max 1d ago

Then I’ll gladly miss these ships. There’s no ship or skin that will make me interact with that cancerous mole of an alien. Long live Xenothreat

4

u/citizensyn 1d ago

Yeah for what his friend is wikelo should be giving the BP

2

u/ACR96 Spirit E1 | Starlancer Max 1d ago

Multiple ways to get the same ship would be ideal, so you’re not stuck with one version. If they want to do Wikelo BPs but you can get the base ship from elsewhere, I’m fine with that

4

u/citizensyn 1d ago

I'm fine with out of production models being found only second hand in the verse you don't get your 1960 charger from the new car dealer after all, gotta start cracking barns and storage units

3

u/ACR96 Spirit E1 | Starlancer Max 1d ago

Barn find mechanics would be amazing. I loved that system in the Forza games, tied to a little puzzle or treasure hunt. Makes it more engaging to get the ship

2

u/citizensyn 1d ago

Imagine every outlaw bunker has a rare chance to have a hangar and in that hanger a rare chance to find a ship

1

u/ACR96 Spirit E1 | Starlancer Max 1d ago

Like those drug bunker missions or asteroid bases? That would be so sick

3

u/citizensyn 1d ago

Yeah usually find something like some iron scu crates or maybe gold or if your lucky some spare components to scrap, but get lucky with that lucky find hangar and suddenly you have a new hornet mk1

Y'all really just absolutely love finding an excuse to display racism don't ya? Nothing about his way of getting stuff or him warrants the level of hate he gets.

10

u/ACR96 Spirit E1 | Starlancer Max 1d ago

Hating an in-game character that’s tied to one of the shittiest systems in game doesn’t equate to irl racism. It’s not that deep, mate, relax

-6

u/Luminous_Azure 1d ago

System isn't even bad, but y'all really think it isn't thinly veiled racism to be shrieking "Xenothreat is right" because you don't like a system in the game? 🤣 You're literally siding with the SC equivalent of a gang of Nazis over a game system dude

6

u/ACR96 Spirit E1 | Starlancer Max 1d ago

You can like the system if that’s what you want, but I’m allowed to dislike the same thing if I want. But kindly get off your high horse about this racism shit. It’s an in-game faction. By your logic, CIG shouldn’t even have the faction in game because it promotes nazi sentimentality?

What about games like CSGO where you can play as a terrorist faction against counter terrorists? Does that make you a terrorist sympathiser?

2

u/GrandAlternative7454 drake 1d ago

Yea, it's weird to see a bug related to mission turn ins and decide you like the genocidal maniacs. People don't have enough media literacy to see why that looks concerning.

2

u/dlp0e suburban space dad 1d ago

Easy there friend. Wikelo hate is essentially a meme at this point and should be treated as such.

Because it does not impact me that much either way, I choose to believe the statement about XT to be hyperbole, maybe irony. I’d have to learn more about the poster before I made the leap to “this person is a genocidal racist.”

I do this more for my own mental health. There are plenty of objectively shitty and disappointing people in real life - I don’t need to sus them all out on Reddit too.

11

u/PanicSwtchd Grand Admiral 1d ago

You won't necessarily be able to 'buy' them in game for aUEC but probably get them from events, or other gameplay mechanics. I would not be surprised if they are in Executive Hangars in Pyro, or some other means as 'rare' loot.

5

u/ACR96 Spirit E1 | Starlancer Max 1d ago

Don’t mind that, either. The exec hangars were fun to do and I personally wouldn’t mind if that’s how it goes. Doesn’t make too much sense to have the Phoenix in that loot pool, so if they can find a better solution, great.

3

u/PanicSwtchd Grand Admiral 1d ago

I would expect they'll come up with a variety of ways. The way I see it, Wikelo, Exec Hangars, Operation Overdrive, and those were just testing various ways of giving out rewards and ships and seeing how people engage with them.

By 1.0 we'll probably have a bunch of ways to earn different ships and they pretty much said that you should be able to look at something in the game and say "I want that" and have a concrete path to acquire it with some combination of gameplay loops.

2

u/Pocfoe 1d ago

I mean their FAQ says classic ship shops. I could see them selling them but at a higher cost.

1

u/SamaelCreative Anvil 20h ago

Could be also possible to get blueprints and build one

28

u/Delnac 1d ago

So long as there won't be enough resources to go around that some ships are left unfinished, barely-functional or untouched for years... I'm sorry, the cause for concern at "retired ships" being neglected - especially with them no longer being money-earners for CIG - is very real.

7

u/CassiusFaux That one rare Hawk pilot 1d ago

The Hornets are a very, very real example of this. Mostly the Mk I, but even the Mk II.

1

u/Silidistani "rather invested" 1d ago

in b4 Hornet Mk III ...

-11

u/kungfu01 1d ago

The resources are currently being used to make and money on new ships fund the game. If this was a finished product id agree

6

u/cmndr_spanky 1d ago edited 1d ago

you're both literally saying the same thing. The outcome is the same. There's literally a 0% chance that CIG will pour resources into improving the mk4 over time when there's a 100% chance it won't yield any revenue for them. They don't even bother fixing ships that are broken that are still purchasable and not even a over a year old.

Stating "because the game isn't finished" is somewhat irrelevant to the facts. thousands of people play the game NOW to have fun, and have to make actual decisions on what's worth spending money on NOW. Yes there's lots of fine print and alpha warnings, but that's not how Star Citizen is marketed, and if everyone just purchased the $45 game package and nothing more, there would be no survival for CIG anyways..

My point: You can't have it both ways. If you need a lot of money and sell a lot of things, people will need to rationalize what they get for that cost RIGHT NOW. We are not investors, if we were investors we'd be getting dividends and/or a stake in the company.. that would be a very different calculus.

4

u/drizzt_x Monk 1d ago

The resources are currently being used to make and money on new ships fund the game.

This will never, ever change. SQ42 sales, subscriptions, and gear/paint/cosmetic sales can not even come close to the amount of money that CIG makes selling ships, and thus, they can never stop selling ships.

3

u/MundaneBerry2961 1d ago

You think they are going to stop once it hits full release? They will continue to sell ships and the same cycle will continue with ever increasing ship debt

35

u/THUORN The SQ42 Albatross is killing my neck! 1d ago

A couple problems I have. 1) CIG loves to talk and promise shit, they just suck at actual keeping those promises. 2) They ALREADY cant maintain and keep up to date the ships that exist and they have started to only update some ships when they are selling something similar or using fomo to push a final sell of a ship that is being sunsetted.

I dont see how they will have an easier time maintaining the GROWING fleet as time goes by. And with the need to have a sale attached with working on a ship THAT NEEDS IT, how will sunsetted ships get the money to pay for needed work? Why would CIG waste money fixing MK1s, when they have a new money maker they could make and release instead?

10

u/CyberianK 1d ago

They can't give me a Squadron 42 release date.

They can't give me a Banu Merchantman release date.

When the Connie Mk4 is a neglected stepchild drowning in the pool some years from now they will not be able to give me a necessary rework release date.

1

u/THUORN The SQ42 Albatross is killing my neck! 17h ago

They can give you the next date of their never ending sales though. Thats something. lolol

10

u/handtoglandwombat Pioneer 1d ago

You’re exactly right. And it’s not even as if the mkIVs have been made completely bug free.

4

u/Unusual-Wing-1627 1d ago

There will come a time when all the systems relating to shops, like engineering, armour etc, are in and a final standard is meet in regards to mechanics, and then however many ships are needed to be updated will be chipped away at until they're done. After that only graphical enhancements would need to be updated as graphics engines are upgraded of they are.

1

u/THUORN The SQ42 Albatross is killing my neck! 17h ago

We HOPE that time comes. But in year 17 of this project. I dont have any reason to think that. They are MORE than welcome to prove me wrong. I wish they would.

9

u/cc1004555 1d ago

Not the end of development. My mk1 hornet would like a word

8

u/sokos 1d ago

How's the LAMP on the new gold pass mkiv?

0

u/kungfu01 1d ago

I dont think it has it or at least it wasnt working for me

3

u/sokos 1d ago

Does the mk5 have it? Cause that should tell you enough of what the gold pass actually means.

1

u/kungfu01 1d ago

The mk5 does not have it i misread your comment. Haven't flown the mk4 since the gold pass yet

1

u/MundaneBerry2961 1d ago

So new ship isn't even up to standard at launch, that is super common btw

13

u/mxxmmllm sabre 1d ago

it will get laid down next year / no more updates just keep it alive and eventually it gets nerfed in HP so nobody use it anymore

18

u/BedContent9320 1d ago edited 1d ago

Yea, exactly! Exactly guys!

This is why the MK1 Hornet still has 8 year old issues!

Err..

Wait what?

I mean to say, it's not like CIG has a very long history of releasing things then just abandoning them completely and forgetting they exist. Right?

They spend a lot of time focusing on the lower tier assets and keeping those up to date and functional, rather than only focusing on the popular thing and releasing new things.

So there's absolutely nothing to worry about guys.

15

u/Tokyo_Ink 1d ago

Until they actually make the ships available in-game, this is just words. As it stands they are actually removing the ships completely from being acquired at all. Unless you buy it and own it, there won't be any way to get one after the retirement window. CIG would have a whole lot more support if they were giving people who own these ships the ability to upgrade for free and also keeping the original ships available in-game even if it was much more difficult to find them.

Right now it's just marketing to sell more ships. They rebrand the one we have as a "classic" and provide a new ship to sell in addition. We don't need to defend these marketing moves.

There's nothing wrong in theory with their plans, but given that they haven't implemented them, and CIG are notorious for operating at a snails pace, you can't just put this on a billboard and declare all criticism invalid.

4

u/BroloPlays 1d ago

this... But also make them available in game not from Banu Boy

22

u/Delicious_Fortune_64 new user/low karma 1d ago

While that’s true, we can’t forget that the less a ship is used, the lower it falls on the list of update priorities.

Some ships that became virtually unplayable remained in a break state for years simply because no one was taking them out of the hangar anymore.

If the majority of owners upgrade from the Mk4 to the Mk5, the Mk4 might only get an update once every five to ten years. Where the Constellation stands a chance, however, is that the Mk5 is so different that owners who haven't already switched to another RSI ship might not make the move to the Mk5.

10

u/CombatMuffin 1d ago

Which is ironic, because for the most part, how much a ship isnused is ultimately the developer's responsibility: you can have the ugliest ship out there, but if it is incredibly efficient or useful, people will use it.

I am willing to bet that more often than not, ships that are used less but were once mildly popular, are so because CiG preferred to move on to the newer ships andmpower crept.

The perfect example, imo, is the F8C. It's an incredibly popular ship they made to have limited access, and then power crept off the meta, to the point where even after opening it up to the public and limiting it by price or a random reward in CZ, it's still not going to be as heavily used as others, at the whole.

And most of thatz is not a player issue. Players will naturally tend to lean towards either newer, or effective/efficient ships

-6

u/3andrew 1d ago

Honestly, does it matter? I am of the opinion that as long as all ships are brought to gold standard for 1.0, I don’t care if a ship remains broken from now until then.

5

u/PerturbedHero 1d ago

Uh yeah, it does for those who own the ships? I bought a ship and I expect it to be playable at a gold standard level. I didn’t buy it for it to be playable in a decade when 1.0 releases.

-1

u/3andrew 1d ago

Cool story but that’s not how things work. They couldn’t possibly meet your expectation for every single ship for every single patch.

2

u/till180 1d ago

You seriously think that a developer making sure things the sell actually continue to function is "not how things work"?

Just wow, it always amazes me just how willing some people are to be CIGs simp.

-1

u/3andrew 1d ago

You’re replying as if we’re not talking about a game in active alpha development. If this was a discussion post 1.0, your point would be valid. Function and gold standard (as the person I replied to stated) are two entirely different things. All ships currently function, even those not touched in years so relax kiddo.

That said, the game is in alpha and things break. I don’t expect them to drop what they are doing to make sure every ship is gold standard perfect 100% of the time. That would be a huge waste of resources and time. I would much rather them finish this game ASAP and if that means breaking stuff in the process only to be fixed by 1.0, so be it. I don’t care what you’ve spent on ships and how you feel entitled that your ship should receive a gold standard pass every patch. If you can’t handle things not working for prolonged periods of time, then buying into an alpha was the wrong decision on your part.

24

u/Forsaken_Ad_9960 1d ago

They said the same for the auroa nothing new they call “interesting ways”

23

u/Cee_U_Next_Tuesday 1d ago

In laymen terms “fuck you buy it again”

-7

u/Gedrot 1d ago

It's fine imo. A couple people got salty in the past when ever ships got these massive hull changing updates and had to use the new one. Some people would no doubt still prefer the original Cutlass over what we have now, since it was a smaller ship with a bed and toilet but with somewhat similar capabilities as the current Cutlass, just with much less wasted space on the inside.

And if CIG actually hold onto their promise of keeping "classic ships" at gold standard, we're effectively getting two ships instead of just one.

I get why people want free upgrades but anyone who expects CIG to give away vehicles for free probably just hasn't been around long enough to know that that absolutely never happens under any circumstances.

2

u/sokos 1d ago

The problem is the iF there is not much gas left in the tank on the trust side as many things have been said that didn't materialize.

1

u/Gedrot 1d ago

Jup. Been here since 2012. I know. I also know about the many broken promises. But keeping legacy variants of ships functional in the game might actually be one of the few things that were promised and at least kept on a surface level. I think it was in a TFTCM question, as we expected something like this to happen early on already.

Other online games do stuff like this already to stay afloat. I'm long past the point of deluding myself that CIG could run things differently. SC simply inflated too much for that to possibly happen anymore.

3

u/derped_osean 1d ago

Aren't we supposed to be able to build fighters down the line? Cause I could see people making "used car lots" to sell ships not available in the in-game shops.

9

u/Tedward1337 1d ago

So the Aurora Mk1 I bought, and the F7C-S Hornet Ghost are now both unavailable now, but I’m expected to believe that they will keep working on these ships? Cool, excellent, very fun choices, RSI

-8

u/kungfu01 1d ago

Can you read? They didnt say right now theyre gonna update the old ships. The game isnt even done yet

13

u/IisTails 1d ago

Then why are we sunsetting ships if the game is not done?

1

u/kungfu01 1d ago

Money

5

u/BrilliantMelodic1658 1d ago

Will come to retired ships the same as any other.

But DO NOT ASK WHEN.

6

u/Accurate-Rutabaga-57 1d ago

Gone after a Gold Pass? Of course not

10

u/BackOnMyBullsheeyut 1d ago

literally just empty words

they said the same for the aurora and hornet mk1

-8

u/Ayden_Prime avacado 1d ago

Both of which you can still buy in game and have recieved updates since being retired?

10

u/Arulune 1d ago

Where? I haven't seen them in shops or wikilo

9

u/czartrak SlipStream SAR 1d ago

I don't understand how you can be so confidently wrong

Which updates did they receive after being retired?

3

u/IisTails 1d ago

Where can I buy them then?

5

u/Ayden_Prime avacado 1d ago

Ohhh shit, that's on me guys, I forgot they pulled the aurora and swapped it. coulda swore you could still get the mk1 hornet though, I'm wrong, my bad. hornet itself has recieved adjustments to it's flight controls since it's been retired though, and the aurora just retired.

My bad. you right. it's not back in the game yet.

edits: spelling.

-6

u/kungfu01 1d ago

Literally an empty comment those ships are still supported and sold in game

10

u/czartrak SlipStream SAR 1d ago

No they aren't lmao

2

u/Ayden_Prime avacado 1d ago

Nah, they aren't sold in game. I was wrong about that too.

Hornet has been adjusted and is still supported. aurora hasn't needed and update since it's gold standard, so you can make an argument both for and against it being support, neither would be correct until a buig report for it comes and shows it is or isn't though

6

u/CassiusFaux That one rare Hawk pilot 1d ago

Hows the Hornet doing these days?

It got those same gold standard updates and general fixes they said it would?

I bet you'll never guess the answer.

9

u/NoVacationDude new user/low karma 1d ago

To be fair, no hornet, not even the mk2, has the gold standard.

But the state of the old hornets is a warcrime 😢

2

u/CassiusFaux That one rare Hawk pilot 1d ago

Yeah the Mk IIs are miserable as well right now. Absolute joke how the Mk I and II were handled.

3

u/RayD125 BunkerBuster 1d ago

My mk1 super hornet still feels amazing. And I prefer it over the mk2.

3

u/Zormac Team Sabre 1d ago

It doesn't matter. The Mk4 and 5 are different ship classes entirely. The 5 doesn't replace the 4, so the Mk4 should stay as a regular ship in game, not a relic.

5

u/D4wnstorm new user/low karma 1d ago

When's the last f7 mk1 update?

1

u/MundaneBerry2961 1d ago

Sad hornet noises.

It's hard to believe you CIG when you never actually do what you say

2

u/ImmovableThrone rsi 🥑 1d ago

These are going to be Disco's jalopy mission ships mark my words

2

u/Troll4ever31 misc 1d ago

For me the question is when? We really need a stop gap way to earn these missing ships before they flesh this out in the future. I don't like that there is absolutely no way to get your hands on a F7C MK1 or Aurora MK1 right now.

2

u/PyroSmurf MISC | Red Warden 1d ago

Too bad they are removing it from the pledge store.

I love the look of the old one and would never consider looking at the Centaurus. Looks like the Perseus I guess, but should not be considered a Constellation.

Still love the giant bars on the windows. 😆

3

u/BastianHawk 1d ago

Perhaps if CIG wasn't using "retierment" and "sunsetting" but simply stated that once a ship got its "gold standard pass" it will be removed from the pledge store and can only be aquiered in-game hence forward.
But these ships still recieve ALL needed reworks and updates for upcoming SCV 1.0 game loops / mechanics.

Thus gold pass = ship can only be bought in-game but is kept uptodate for all coming / future game needs.

-4

u/kungfu01 1d ago

Thats exactly what theyre saying tho. They've gold passed other ships that are still on the pledge store too

3

u/wolflordval 1d ago

I don't care what they say, I care about what they do. And what they're doing is not what they've said here.

6

u/BastianHawk 1d ago

As I pointed out - they are using "retirement" and "sun setting" which is commonly interpreted as - "Game Over!" or "They are not coming to work anymore" and "their high day is over". When in fact that is NOT the case. These ships only  get removed from the pledge store after their "gold pass". While CIG intend to say the same they way they are using is infers - these ships a dead weight now.

2

u/kungfu01 1d ago

Sorry maybe thst wasnt clear i was agreeing with you

-1

u/drizzt_x Monk 1d ago

This would make a lot more sense if they hadn't also been pulling the Mk I ships from sale in-game, making them impossible to acquire in any way.

3

u/RicoZaid 1d ago

And the older ships will be weaker than what you can buy.

1

u/JalasKelm new user/low karma 1d ago

To be fair, there should be a bunch of ships in the verse that are underpowered or outdated, just like there are old cars and vans on the road

3

u/RicoZaid 1d ago

There are plenty of older real vehicles that outclass the newer ones ☺️

3

u/xSoft1 Colonel 1d ago

CIG can barely keep a fraction of the currently available ships up-to-date and functional. Then they want us to believe they're going to keep these non-revenue generating retired legacy ships up-to-date? Lol, Lmao even.

3

u/Divinum_Fulmen 1d ago

Which is a false statement, because "the current state of tech and features" includes things like suit lockers, of which the Aurora Mark I has been updated with none of.

5

u/donkula232323 anvil 1d ago

Why would the aurora get suit lockers?

3

u/Endyo SC 4.10: youtu.be/8_l_oernoKU 1d ago

Most fighters don't have suit lockers or space for suit lockers or even interiors. I don't think it's a required piece of the kit you'd expect if space is limited.

2

u/Divinum_Fulmen 1d ago

Why does Mark 2 has them?

-1

u/donkula232323 anvil 1d ago

Newer design that actually has space for it. The older design does not.

3

u/Divinum_Fulmen 1d ago

Oh, I didn't know game assets were set in stone. Shame that they can't just change the asset to fit them. You know, like they changed things in the past to fit new features?

0

u/donkula232323 anvil 1d ago

They were working with what the aurora already had. No room for suit lockers. Maybe stop acting so entitled.

1

u/Divinum_Fulmen 1d ago

Entitled to a starter package on parity with the start of the game? Why yes, I should be.

Maybe you need to stop being a doormat to companies screwing you over.

1

u/donkula232323 anvil 1d ago

You aren't entitled to have every feature in every ship. Are we going to now have to give a suit locker to every ship including the fighters?

1

u/Divinum_Fulmen 1d ago

CIG thinks the Mark 2 Aurora needs it, so of course the Aurora needs it.

2

u/donkula232323 anvil 1d ago

You aren't entitled to have every feature in every ship. Are we going to now have to give a suit locker to every ship including the fighters?

1

u/kungfu01 1d ago

Idek what this means. The aurora mk1 never had nor was supposed to have a suit locker to begin with... suit lockers aren't even functional yet

1

u/DaPoets_Terrence 1d ago

Impractical for many ships to have suit lockers... come on...

1

u/HeartlessSora1234 11h ago

They said not every ship will have armor lockers the last time they talked about them.

Something like.. "If the ship has it now it will have it in the future"

2

u/No-Cherry9538 1d ago

None of this was really my problem, the resources going on to remakes of existing ships instead of filling out gaps in what's available, gaping holes in manufacturer lines or you know, ships that have been in the pipeline for Years is what has been my issue with this new 'replacement mk' stuff

3

u/rxmp4ge Who needs a cargo grid? 1d ago

They're obviously working on many ships at once. It's not like it took the entire art team to work on a ship we didn't even know was coming, while also simultaneously working on the Kraken and Liberator and Galaxy and who knows what other unannounced things...

Pretty much everything in the backlog that can be pushed out has been pushed out. And this is coming from an Odyssey owner. Yeah I want my Odyssey but I also want it to come out functional. So I can wait for the functionality.

2

u/OkLoquat898 1d ago

This. The overwhelming majority of the remaining concept ships are waiting on some kind of tech from another team.

1

u/Kind_Comfortable_647 1d ago

To an extend I agree, but they have to do something while the other teams make content to actually give the other ships purpose.

1

u/kungfu01 1d ago

We dont really know what theyre doing. Could be different teams, they could've been working on the mk5 for years. Seems they are filling out the backlog pretty rapidly these days. There are only a few concepts left that aren't actively being worked on or slated for release already

1

u/rxmp4ge Who needs a cargo grid? 1d ago

I think it's gotten to the point where they can crank them out pretty quickly once they have the assets and design philosophy down. You get a handful of guys working on something like this full-time with an asset collection at their fingertips and a design philosophy to go off of and I don't think it'd take very long.

They pretty much have the full RSI asset collection done for both military and civilian, so yeah I imagine this came into being pretty quickly all things considered.

I love it. I was never a Constellation fan but I really like this. SOMETHING is getting CCU'd. the price decides what's on the block.

1

u/Collective_Keen Galaxy Soon™ 1d ago

Same. Never liked the old ones, but I like the Mk V. I'm expecting it to cost a bit more than the Mk IV series. I'd be fine with the rumored Aquila being $400, because then it should be Warbond for $360 and I can upgrade my Asgard for $10 and keep my Zeus ES as my daily. lol

1

u/rxmp4ge Who needs a cargo grid? 1d ago

If it's up that high my Hull-B will get the axe, along with a handy dandy 20% off coupon. I've never even flown my Hull-B so I won't be particularly sad to see it go. It's either going to be the Hermes, the Starlancer or the Hull-B.

1

u/Collective_Keen Galaxy Soon™ 1d ago

I was going to melt my Asgard and use the credit on my Zeus, but hopefully it's priced higher than the Asgard and I don't lose my only medium ship.

1

u/NitroChance89 1d ago

Can you still melt the connie mkIV for in-store credit after its been removed from the store?

2

u/kungfu01 1d ago

Yes

1

u/NitroChance89 1d ago

Cool, thanks!

1

u/oldmanobserver 1d ago

Did you read the fine print? I sure did

1

u/rawthorm 1d ago

This is not the reassurance they think it is. Either they are talking out of their ass, or they’ve just hung themselves with a huge amount of ongoing support for a product they won’t make further money from.

1

That would be reassuring if it didn't mean you'll likely lose the ship forever next patch, or the next intentional wipe they do to try and manipulate us towards the pledge store, unless you spend over $200 on a ship that was most players first major in-game ship goal because it was fairly cheap and super versatile. Lord knows the Mk. V Polaris Jr. is gonna cost at least $100 more in the pledge store compared to the Taurus. I'm thinking the greedy jerks will put it somewhere between the Starlancer and the Perseus; judging by size, armament, and cargo capacity

Idk.why poeple think that when its not the same ship. In some cases its an downgrade

I don't want a free upgrade the ship just needs a 10%-20% increase in size.

It's made up by people's ability to overreact to the first rumour they see or hear and treat it as absolute fact.

Worth pointing out that, at least with the Mk1 Hornets and Auroras, NPC's still use them. So legitimate salvage and 'legitimate salvage' are options to acquire them.
