According to various sources, a death and several injuries occured on Goliath, necessitating a park-wide closure around 4:30pm. Sources from the train say that the guest fell out of their seat and the restraint came undone.

EDIT: Please beware of massive exit-jams and traffic leaving SFOG following the park-wide closure.

EDIT 2: Radio clip confirms that first responders were told 3 total patients as they were dispatched to the scene.

EDIT 3: Edited post to reflect recently confirmed information.

I know this isn't Cedar Point, but it is important for a number of reasons. First and foremost, the chain is already in horrible financial shape. Accidents like this may push the entire company to bankruptcy.

The company that produced this ride also created GateKeeper, Valravyn, Rougarou, and Raptor. Up until recently, they fabricated all their steel track at Clermont Steel Fabricators near Kings Island. Kings Island's Diamondback, Orion, and Banshee were also made by this company.

Those of you asking if what happened today at SFOG affected other parks, yes.

Was at Great Adventure with a friend of mine today and Nitro abruptly shutdown at around 5/6 PM with no explanation as to why. I assumed it was because it had been evacuated earlier in the day but was told by an employee it came from management. Only later did I find out what happened at Goliath and put the two together.

QUESTION How Crowded is Freightfest During Halloween in San Antonio?

Hello,

Planning to go to Fiesta Texas San Antonio during Halloween but wondering how full it gets. Is it too full? Long lines?

I’ve gone before on a Sunday and it was perfect but it wasn’t Halloween day. And now I want to go on a Saturday for Halloween. Let me know if you’ve done during Halloween before!

Great America California

I have plans to take my 6 and 7 year old here this month (7yearold loves a thrill!) but with all the accidents of sorts happening at six flags as of late, I’m wondering if I should just cancel the trip and pick a theme park owned and run by a safer company.

What are your thoughts on Great America, San Jose?

RANT It was a matter of time

The company has only gone down hill since the merger, massive cost cuts everywhere including safety sensitive things, it could happen again at any time at any park in the chain. The only way they make it not happen again is if it affects their pocketbook. Don't go to six flags parks.

QUESTION When does Six Flags Great Adventure normally open on a new year?

Me and my mom are planning to visit New Jersey to visit family on late February or early March, but I think the park will still be closed by then. I really want to go to Six Flags during my visit, so if I can convince my mom to delay the visit a few weeks or months, when would the park be open?

INFO Will Kings Island and Carowinds will get a new coaster in 2028 or 2029? ArieForce One, Vekoma launch coaster, or else?

I don't want Kings Island or Carowinds to getting ArieForce One, but it needs a new thrill major coaster like Vekoma for 2028 or 2029. I think AF1 could be Great Adventure for Shoreline Pier expansion in 2028.

QUESTION Six Flags GA Zebra on Safari

Went on the safari at Great Adventure yesterday and one of the zebras had a pretty nasty large open wound on its back, definitely on the fresher side. She was walking around fine, a baby was nursing from her too lol, so didn’t seen detrimental. The guide said the vets know about it but didn’t say anything else. Anyone know what happened?

I was at Six Flags Magic Mountain and realized they had model replicas of some of the best coasters there. Honestly, one of their better ideas for merchandise lol. Has anyone gotten one? I’m on the fence

What's the best day to visit for Fright Fest?

Hey, so Friday was my first time ever going to Fright Fest at Great America and it was awesome but there wasnt really any scarers and I was wondering if there would be a better day to go such as a Saturday or Sunday as I heard that on the weekends they usually have more scare actors there and I felt that when I went it was lacking scarers.

Would it be beneficial to go on a Saturday or Sunday and if I did what their be a big difference in more scarers and would the crowds be much larger aswell? I also don't want the crowds to be crazy as I want to ride the rides just as much as I want to experience fright fest (I won't be visiting the haunted houses FYI)

I just want to know if it's worth going on a weekend to have a more thrilling experience or if it's the same and I just had an unlucky day

RANT Six Flags New England no rides

Are you kidding me Six Flags New England? First in line for Wicked Cyclone, first right there and then you CLOSED it. At Quantum Accelerator, first in line, and again you CLOSED it. Walk up to Flashback, first in line and CLOSED once again.

The best part was no compensation was given. Did I pay just to enter the park?

Bring-a-friend Comp Tix Question

I have a Gold Pass and still have a bring-a-friend comp ticket for 2026. Does anyone know if they need to be used at my home park?

The ticket itself just says “Six Flags admission ticket” and I tried looking through the terms of service and didn’t see any mention of these tickets

QUESTION SFMM - How to “plus” a trip with my 16 year old?

I’m taking my 16-year-old son to Magic Mountain this week for 3 days (flying in from Utah). This is our third trip and we’ve always gone this time of year. Great weather, reasonable crowds, etc., but there’s a small problem I’m trying to figure out how to navigate.

This is something my wife and I do for our 2 kids every year. They get to pick their own “kids trip” every year. We have a small regional airport near us with cheap flights to California (we do SNA for Disneyland and BUR for Magic Mountain) so these trips are actually pretty cheap.

The problem this year is we told both kids they could bring a friend. My daughter’s trip to Disneyland is the first week in November and her best friend is coming with us. My son’s friend had been saying for the last few months that he could go and…long story short…turns out his parents had no intention of letting him go. They just kept finding new, lame, excuses even when we offered to fully cover the cost of airfare, tickets, food, etc. I just really wanted my teenage son to have someone to hang with other than Dad (me). I’m not the worst person to be around but I’m not his peer either. Plus I can’t handle some of the more extreme coasters due to migraine issues so I just keep him company in a lot of lines (last time I rode Tatsu in my 20s I almost barfed from the migraine it triggered).

What I’m looking for are any ideas on how to kind of plus up the trip to make up for his friend not coming. Budget is about $400 since that’s what I was willing to spend on having his friend come. Been considering fast lane passes but wondering if there are other good options I’m not aware of. We have season passes for this trip (the cheapest one - gold I think?). We did the Halloween stuff last year but he’s not really interested in doing those again. This is purely an adrenaline junkie trip.

TIA for any help/suggestions!

QUESTION I need help understanding this gold pass.

Post image
4 Upvotes

(FIXED) So I wanted to go to Six Flags with my family today, I was looking at the tickets and noticed the instructions. We bought the passes for schlitterbahn but the tickets said they could be used anywhere. My little brother didn't get to go to schlitterbahn since he was sick during the end of the season. We want to take him to fright fest but we're unsure if he'll even be let in since he never got his pass activated at schlitterbahn. Will it still work even if we go to six flags? 😢

Update: what I found out from a comment on here was that you have to upload a photo of the pass holder when adding the pass to your six flags account.

SFGA tomorrow (Oct 11)

Hi there and thanks for any insight you guys might have. we have been planning for ages to do Fright Fest tomorrow however the weather looks terrible with the remnants of the hurricane. what are your thoughts on what might be operating and is there a chance that they may close? I have still not bought all of the tickets for my party due to that fear. it looks like the rain will be less in the evening so we're thinking about adjusting our arrival time and only doing Fright Fest versus doing any rides.

Anybody familiar with Great Adventure and how they deal with rain and wind?

Gold pass/All Park Passport from Great Escape

Thumbnail

I've been trying to find a definitive answer on this but am getting different responses.

I bought a gold pass with the all park passport at Great Escape around September/October 2025 back when it was still part of Six Flags.

I visited and activated it back when I visited in October 2025 but I want to go visit Six Flags New England this month, will the pass work?

Are there any benefits included still like parking and discounted "bring a friend" tickets? Or will I have to purchase those separately?

I've been seeing from some sources that it will still work, but when I reached out to customer service they said that the passes will not scan and I would have to pay for entry at the park. Granted originally I didn't know the all access was separate so hadn't specified that in my inquiry, so maybe they thought I just had a regular gold pass?

QUESTION Diamond Elite VIP stealth devalued?

I've been a Diamond Elite VIP member since they upgraded us over covid, but hadn't been to the parks yet this year. Just came with a group of friends to Great Adventure and was told at guest services that 1.) The annual bring a friend ticket "should still be a thing for you but we don't see it on your account, sorry" 2.) The pass holder discount on tickets for other no longer exists 3.) The food and mercy 50% off has been decreased to "up to 40% off"

Doe anyone know if all of this is correct and when it changed? Very pissed off at the moment and likely to cancel. Thanks!
