Football Why does Ryan Grubb keeps on abandoning the run game?
It was a tight game, and he completely starts to abandon the run game with some weird play calling. Granted Bama did get robbed by the refs but if they didn’t abandon the run game, they never would’ve been put into that kind of a bad situation in the first place as it would’ve opened up the pass game by having a balanced play calling. The RBs were all doing their jobs really well.
Georgia never abandoned the run game and had great success on us in the 2nd half. I just don’t understand why he keeps on doing this!

Football Penalties in Saban era
Just going to leave this here. Decide for yourself.
Alabama was called for slightly fewer penalties than its opponents during Nick Saban’s 17 seasons (2007–2023), but the difference was remarkably small.
I compared Alabama's penalties with those assessed against its opponents across all 235 games, using Sports Reference's season statistics.
Alabama penalties per game
5.43
Opponent penalties per game
5.59
Calculated from published season averages, weighted by games played. Totals are approximate because source averages are rounded.
That means Alabama received approximately 0.16 fewer penalties per game, or about 38 fewer penalties over the entire Saban era.
Across those 17 seasons, Alabama had fewer penalties per game than its opponents in nine seasons and more in eight.
Even more interesting is penalty yardage. Alabama averaged approximately 46.4 penalty yards per game versus 44.7 for opponents. In other words, Alabama committed slightly fewer penalties, but those penalties cost it slightly more yardage.
Here's what stands out to me: Alabama's discipline advantage was pronounced early in Saban's tenure, especially from 2007 through 2013. In the later years, Alabama was frequently the more penalized team.
Bottom line: The statistics don't support a broad claim that Alabama benefited from substantially fewer penalty calls throughout Saban's tenure. In fact, the overall numbers were nearly even.

Football Thoughts on radio announcer Chris Stewart?
Want to share my opinion about radio play-by-plat guy Chris Stewart. I like him fine for the basketball games, and it’s certainly not easy replacing a legend like Eli.
I’ve been listing to a lot of the games on SiriusXM, where you have the option to listen to the radio broadcast of either side.
I personally don’t like Chris’ radio voice, simply my personal preference. What I hope for from him is simply high quality play by play, but Chris doesn't deliver. He makes a noticeable mistake what feels like at least one per drive. Either calling out the wrong player, misspeaking about something or having to correct himself about something he just said.
On top of that, I find his commentary a bit corny and lacking in charisma. For example, after the sideline reporter chimed in, Chris said, “thank you so very much.” It annoyed me to the point where I switched to the Georgia announcers and quickly got, “well, it’s first and 97!” after Bama pinned them deep. Just the level of charisma and energy is consistently better from the opposing announcers.
I’m wondering if anyone else feels this way about Chris? I have nothing against the man personally, I'm sure he's a great guy. Just think Bama deserves a higher tier of radio announcer.
