Decisions have been made...our new AI policy.

Top mod and I have finally decided on some things and, well, it may upset a lot of people - and we understand why.

AI has been running rife in this group as we all know, and we've leaned slightly towards the "low AI side" while we worked out what the hell we'll allow or not allow and why, so we can actually moderate it fairly and with actual trainability.

And as we have been, and after studying what the other gametest groups are doing - it's pretty much clear what we have to do. Allow all AI.

Here's the issue: We're no longer fighting something that with good rules and moderation would settle into a rhythm eventually.

The right wording of the rules saying "No AI" as strongly as possible, the right requirements, AI spam hunters - it doesn't matter how much we implement, what tools and automod and AI-catching-training we would do with everyone. AI is getting to be too good and people will (and have been) lying to get their game through barriers, borders, and hunters. With some of my other reddit groups, breakouts of this or that "major" problem is normal and can over time calm down and be moderated out. But this?

...It's going to burn us all out if we keep moderating the way we are. This isn't a typhoon, nor a tidal wave. Not a war that can be fought with enough people, armor, and bullets.

It's trying to keep the rising ocean out of a city with only a few buckets. (aka moderators)

Seven buckets, 20 buckets, 50 buckets and wallbreaks with the most advanced towers on the planet - it doesn't matter, the water is still rising and there is no stopping this particular change in society without severe burnout of all the mods (me very much included in that!)

So instead of fighting the planet, the only way is to let it come and adjust things so the community self-polices, not with removals, but with pure spite. BUT we have to keep it Reddit-Mod Code of Conduct-aligned as well, and moderate certain things of course. Like extreme hate is obviously not cool Reddit-wide.

NEW RULE: No false claims about your game.

  • If you explicitly state something untrue ("100% hand-painted art" when it's Midjourney, "original soundtrack" when it's AI-generated), that's removable. But silence is fine. No one is required to disclose anything (for the moment, this might need to change if I'm projecting things right.)

NEW RULE: No AI culture wars.

  • Comments about gameplay experience: always allowed ("the voices sounded robotic," "art style felt generic," "really fun mechanic")
  • Comments attacking the developer over AI use: removed ("you're not a real developer," "AI slop trash," "you're ruining the industry")
  • Comments debating whether AI should exist: removed (take it to another sub)

--

Other Mod Policy Changes: No on Game Collections (Ex: Come play my 50+ games on my website!) and Yes on Tool Testing if its related to games; Like game making or like a heavily, heavily gamified app. It should be really be more game than tool, not just a stock app with leaderboard or cute character encouraging/informing people on self-care.

We are sorry that we are giving up on the fight against AI. It's either this, or shut down the group because not a single person on this planet can dedicate the time to evaluating *every single game* to find hints of deeply embedded AI. Or investigate all accusations with or without merit. Or know of all the AI things people use to make games, assets, music! That's not what any of us signed up for - we are here only to help devs connect with playtesters.

If you do not wish to playtest the games with AI - absolutely fine. We're afraid we're going to have to let you determine what is playtest-worthy or not from here.

If you are BRAND NEW to Reddit and want to post or share your game, read this beforehand!

Hi new Redditor! We're excited that you want to post about your game and have people play it. However, there's something you should know before you do.

Reddit will ban you if your first few posts/comments are links to somewhere.

Reddit has a robust, over-exuberant filtering system, necessary but for groups like this, it can be a slight pain. When you post your game and it's your first post, Reddit ASSUMES FIRST AND DOES NOT ASK QUESTIONS LATER! You will be automatically shadowbanned, which means unable to post or even potentially comment.
Then we get a lot of posters coming to us in Modmail, asking " Why did my post disappear?" Nearly all Modmails are about this issue, roughly 3 a day.

Reddit is also a bit secretive about certain processes - how to get un-shadow-banned is not even really known to be possible. We don't see the record of shadowbanning at all so unless we know of the name and check it regularly, we wouldn't see it un-shadow-banned. We don't know how long your account needs to be open or how much Karma needs to be on it in order for the Filter to stop paying attention to you but we suspect around 100 Post and 100 Comment Karma.

So, if you are new to reddit and want to share your game - DON'T! Not yet, please go post cool/helpful/ positive comments and posts in other groups. Playtest other people's games here and comment on them prolifically. Once you have some "Reddit Post/Comment Karma" under your name first, THEN post your link to your game! You'll be less likely (but not immune, never immune) from being shadowbanned that way for sharing your game.

Edit: If AI recommended you post your game here....Don't Yet until you've developed your account as a good karma community member! This really isn't a "post and ghost" platform, it's community-first. AI doesn't realize this about Reddit.

P.S. This group is 100% responsible for getting accounts banned (when you don't do the steps above) but it's literally out of our control to reverse. So please....don't modmail us unless you KNOW you are not shadowbanned, you have the required karma, and yet your post is not showing up. Only then we can be of some help.

Game Title: Lode Builder

Playable Link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5212370/Lode_Builder_Demo/

Platform: PC (Windows)

Description: Lode Builder is a 2D retro puzzle-platformer heavily inspired by the all-time classic Lode Runner. However, it introduces an entirely new layer of tactical depth by adding dynamic, resource-based building mechanics directly into the core gameplay. Instead of following strictly calculated predefined paths, players must gather resources spread across a tight 23x38 pixel grid canvas to engineer their own way out. You can dynamically construct ladders for sudden vertical movement, stretch long chains to cross deadly pits, or use the devastating Mass Burn ability to obliterate pursuing enemy robots and rapidly descend to greater depths. The game features three themed campaigns with over 150 levels that perfectly balance classic arcade reaction speeds with mind-bending puzzle logic.

[X] Demo/Key available
[ ] Paid (Allowed only on Tuesdays with [TT] in the title)

Game Title: Mechaboom

Playable Link: https://mechaboom.com/play/

Platform: Web (browser, on a computer or a phone, no install)

Description: You pilot a forty-tonne mech against waves of hunters, filmed live by a drone that follows the fight like a camera crew. Every shot heats the mech up: push it too far and it shuts down, standing still in the middle of the fight. The hunters come as brawlers, artillery, heavies and spotters. There are six maps, each with its own way of playing: a valley, a desert, a port at night where your heat makes you visible, a frozen lake where the ice cracks and can swallow a mech, a wind farm in a thunderstorm where lightning knocks machines out, and a city whose buildings collapse. At the end of a run, a replay shows its best moments.

Game Title: Stealthmate

Playable Link:
Steam Demo: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5329290

Browser Microdemo:
https://thelatelab.com/play/stealthmate

Platform: PC / Steam

Hello there! My brother, sister, and I have been working on Stealthmate, a game where every character moves like a chess piece.

Last time I posted here I showed our real-time chess mode. This time I wanted to share some of the puzzles from the single-player campaign.

Each level is a small stealth puzzle where you need to understand how the enemies can move, find a safe path through the board, and reach the objective without getting captured. As you progress, we introduce different chess pieces, enemies, obstacles, optional objectives, and other mechanics that change how you approach each level.

The Steam demo includes a portion of the campaign and is completely free.

We also made a much smaller browser microdemo if you want to try the core puzzle idea without installing anything. It works on PC and mobile, although it was mainly designed for mobile:
https://thelatelab.com/play/stealthmate

For anyone curious about the completely different real-time mode I mentioned, this was my previous post:
https://www.reddit.com/r/playmygame/comments/1x06ptz/realtime_chess/

I’d love to hear what you think about the puzzles, especially the difficulty progression and whether the chess movement creates interesting enough decisions.

Free to Play Status:

Involvement:
I’m one of the developers. I’m making Stealthmate together with my brother and sister.

Trailer Tuesday [Browser, free] Slipface: off-road racing on terrain that deforms.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Playable Link: https://slipfacegame.com/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=playmygame

Platform: browser, desktop. WebGPU required: current Chrome or Edge, or Safari 26+ (macOS 26 / iOS 26). Free, no sign-up.
Best with PC and gamepad. Also runs on decent mobile (Chrome on Android 12+, Safari on iOS 26+).

Description: Slipface is a browser off-road racer I've been building solo. The terrain is simulated (ruts, sinkage, sand that displaces), and the AI trucks dig the track up as they race, so the line they carve is the line you then have to drive. Play time: a race is 1–3 minutes; a derby is about 90 seconds.

Things I'd like feedback on:

  1. **Difficulty:** the default is 2 rivals. (max 9) Too easy, too hard, or fine?
  2. **Sinking:** the ground traps you if you lift off in deep sand. Does it read as a fair mechanic or as a bug?
  3. **First 5 minutes:** where did you get bored or confused?

Honest feedback welcome, including "I couldn't get it to run" (please include browser and GPU).

[PC] (Web) Lighthouse keeper simulator ! 😁😁

Post image
• Upvotes

Game Title: Lost with All Hands

Playable Link: https://itch.io/game/summary/5145297

Platform: Web browser (desktop, Chrome recommended; keyboard and mouse).

Description:

You are the relief keeper at Carn Du Light, a lighthouse on a rocky headland. You arrive a day early in the middle of a gale, and the light is dead. The radio on the desk crackles: a coaster called the Kittiwake is out in the dark with no light to steer by, and the rocks are close.

Your job is simple: find the spare fuse, fit it in the panel, start the generator, climb the tower and light the lamp. Along the way you walk the headland in a real storm, answer voiced radio calls (all subtitled), and look through the lives of the people who kept the station before you. What you find when the beam finally swings out over the water is not what you came for.

It is a short, calm first-person game: no combat and no inventory screens. Dynamic rain, wind, lightning, a moving sea and a sweeping beam, with sound that changes as you pass through doors. Chapter 1 takes about 10 to 15 minutes and ends on a hook; the full story is six chapters, and the rest is in development. Headphones recommended.

Free to Play Status:

* [x] Free to play

* [x] Demo/Key available (chapter 1 of 6 is the free demo)

I'm a solo developer from Vietnam. I design, program and build everything: [the world, the story and the sound]. It's made with Three.js and TypeScript, so it runs directly in the browser.

[Mobile] (Android) [Android] Air Climb: Helicopter Game - free physics flying game where every part (and passenger) can break off, with cup races against ghosts

Game Title: Air Climb: Helicopter Game

Playable Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.airclimb&referrer=utm_source%3Dreddit

Platform: Android

Description:
Air Climb: Helicopter Game is a physics flying game for Android. You fly a helicopter through obstacle courses, carry passengers and try to land at the end of each route. Every aircraft is built from separate parts, so a bad hit can tear off the rotor, the landing gear or a seat, and passengers can fall out mid-flight. The game tells you exactly what you lost, for example "PASSENGER 4 FLEW OUT!".

There are 6 worlds (Green Hills, Snow Mountains, Desert Dunes, Autumn Valley, Volcanic Canyon and Storm Coast) and 8 aircraft, from a small helicopter to the Titan cargo helicopter and the Sky Crane. You earn coins to upgrade engine, handling, fuel, suction and capacity.

Modes: Missions, Adventure, Time Trial, a Daily Challenge and Cup races against rival ghosts. Win the Storm Front cup and sign in with Google to unlock the online Golden Cup league, where you race the ghosts of real players.

Controls: hold THROTTLE on the right to climb, BRAKE on the left to slow down.

Free to Play Status:
[x] Free to play
[ ] Demo/Key available
[ ] Paid

Involvement: I'm the solo developer. I designed the game and led all of its development: the physics and damage system, the levels, the upgrades and the cup and ghost racing.

Feedback I'd love:
1. Are the controls clear within the first minute?
2. Is the difficulty fair, or does it get frustrating too early?
3. Any bugs or performance problems? Please mention your phone model.

Thanks for playing!

Game Title: TapRacer

Playable Link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5077320/ (free demo – "Download Demo" on the store page)

Platform: Windows (PC)

Description: TapRacer is a side-on drag racer where your throttle is two keys, tapped in strict alternation as fast as you can. Underneath runs a longitudinal physics model: torque curves, gear ratios, clutch slip, tire temperature and weight transfer. New this week: the quarter mile races at night, and every car drives with the low beams of its real counterpart. A sun icon in the main menu switches back to day.

The demo has three cars, an eight-race career series, quick race, garage and workshop, a time trial against your own ghost and an online leaderboard.

What I'd love feedback on: Does the night run smoothly on your PC? Does the tapping feel like a throttle or just like mashing? Anything confusing in the first five minutes?

Playable Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tapvolution.game

Tapvolution is an idle clicker where you guide life from a single cell all the way through evolution. It uses the classic tap + generators loop: tap to earn evolution points early on, then unlock generators that keep progressing for you, even while you're offline.

There are 86 evolution stages spread across 12 eras, so there's always a new creature or era just around the corner. When progress starts to slow, you can trigger an Extinction Event. It resets your run but gives you a permanent bonus, so each new run goes faster and further than the last.

There are also 100+ achievements to chase. Ads are 100% optional: the only ad is a rewarded 2x boost you can choose to watch. Nothing is forced or interrupting.

Hey everyone!

Got bored and started messing around with AI-assisted coding. Somehow ended up making a silly multiplayer game called Snack Sumo! 🍩🍣

The concept is simple: you're a snack fighting other snacks on a giant plate. Bump your opponents off, fight for the spotlight, and become the chosen one!

It's a free browser game with simple controls, designed for quick and chaotic matches with friends on PC or mobile.

It's still an early prototype, so expect some bugs and weird physics! I'm also thinking of adding more food characters, unique abilities, and other ridiculous mechanics.

Would love some honest feedback on the gameplay, controls, and overall fun factor. Feel free to roast it! 😂

Description:

Bucket Out: Find Objects is a casual 3D puzzle game where your goal is to sort and match objects by placing them into the correct buckets. It offers a simple but engaging gameplay experience that challenges your observation skills, planning, and decision-making as you progress through different levels.

The game features more than 50 levels, each offering opportunities to test your ability to identify matching objects and manage limited space. You have three lives and a time limit of 60 seconds, so every move matters if you want to achieve a three-star rating. Whether you enjoy relaxing puzzle games or challenges that require quick thinking, Bucket Out offers a straightforward gameplay loop that is easy to learn but can become increasingly challenging.

Game Title: Nexluna: Code Orbit

Playable Link: Android closed beta (2 steps, Google requires the group for testers):

Join the tester group: https://groups.google.com/g/nexluna-testers

Opt in and install from Google Play: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.nexluna.game

Platform: Android

Description: In Nexluna: Code Orbit you never fly your ship – you program it. You snap together colorful code blocks (point prograde, burn, sense the nearest enemy, fire, repeat, if/else…) and then launch your ship into a gravity well full of rivals and watch your program fight on its own. Everything obeys orbital physics: every burn changes your orbit, bullets curve around planets, and moons, crowded arenas, scarce fuel and ammo, and a shrinking sudden-death ring make each mission a new puzzle. While the battle runs, the active blocks light up, and you can pause, change speed, or scrub through a replay to see exactly why your plan worked – or why it flew straight into a planet. The 50-level campaign introduces one idea at a time, with up to three stars per level for surviving with a healthy ship and solving it efficiently. Outside the campaign you can build an arena ship, share its challenge code through any messaging app, and battle friends' ships locally – the same code gives the same result on every device. There are also round-robin AI tournaments against built-in champions. No ads, no account, no data collection, fully offline. I'd especially love feedback on difficulty spikes in later chapters, levels that felt unfair or unclear, and how comfortable the block editor is on your phone. Free to Play Status: [x] Free to play [ ] Demo/Key available [ ] Paid

Involvement: I'm the developer – I designed and built the game (design, programming, levels and art) under Classic Forest Games.

AI disclosure: Like most devs these days, I used LLM coding assistants during development.

[PC] (Web) I made a game where you have no body — possess any creature and learn its skills. Free Chapter 1 demo, playable in browser

• Upvotes

Game Title: Essence: The Other Wave — Chapter 1 Demo

Playable Link: https://devolikin.itch.io/essence-the-other-wave

Platform: Browser (Windows, Mac, Linux) + Windows download

Description: You are an Essence — a bodiless consciousness sent from a steampunk world into a living fantasy one. You have no body of your own, so you take one. Every creature is a teacher: a hare teaches you speed, a wolf a sword strike, a fire elemental a spark. Finish the body's quest and the skill stays with you forever, whatever body you wear next.

What's in the demo:

  • 50+ bodies to possess — beasts, elementals, villagers, bandits, orcs
  • 15 weapons and 5 schools of magic to mix into your build
  • 4 elemental Guardian bosses with phased fights
  • a golem companion you can arm and equip
  • crafting with three tiers of gear
  • a village with its own people, quests and secrets
  • full English and Russian localization

The demo is the whole first chapter — several hours of play. You can play it right in the browser or download the Windows version (smoother, and it keeps saves on your PC).

I'd really love feedback — what felt good, what was confusing, where you got stuck. Every comment helps!
