Decisions have been made...our new AI policy.

Top mod and I have finally decided on some things and, well, it may upset a lot of people - and we understand why.

AI has been running rife in this group as we all know, and we've leaned slightly towards the "low AI side" while we worked out what the hell we'll allow or not allow and why, so we can actually moderate it fairly and with actual trainability.

And as we have been, and after studying what the other gametest groups are doing - it's pretty much clear what we have to do. Allow all AI.

Here's the issue: We're no longer fighting something that with good rules and moderation would settle into a rhythm eventually.

The right wording of the rules saying "No AI" as strongly as possible, the right requirements, AI spam hunters - it doesn't matter how much we implement, what tools and automod and AI-catching-training we would do with everyone. AI is getting to be too good and people will (and have been) lying to get their game through barriers, borders, and hunters. With some of my other reddit groups, breakouts of this or that "major" problem is normal and can over time calm down and be moderated out. But this?

...It's going to burn us all out if we keep moderating the way we are. This isn't a typhoon, nor a tidal wave. Not a war that can be fought with enough people, armor, and bullets.

It's trying to keep the rising ocean out of a city with only a few buckets. (aka moderators)

Seven buckets, 20 buckets, 50 buckets and wallbreaks with the most advanced towers on the planet - it doesn't matter, the water is still rising and there is no stopping this particular change in society without severe burnout of all the mods (me very much included in that!)

So instead of fighting the planet, the only way is to let it come and adjust things so the community self-polices, not with removals, but with pure spite. BUT we have to keep it Reddit-Mod Code of Conduct-aligned as well, and moderate certain things of course. Like extreme hate is obviously not cool Reddit-wide.

NEW RULE: No false claims about your game.

  • If you explicitly state something untrue ("100% hand-painted art" when it's Midjourney, "original soundtrack" when it's AI-generated), that's removable. But silence is fine. No one is required to disclose anything (for the moment, this might need to change if I'm projecting things right.)

NEW RULE: No AI culture wars.

  • Comments about gameplay experience: always allowed ("the voices sounded robotic," "art style felt generic," "really fun mechanic")
  • Comments attacking the developer over AI use: removed ("you're not a real developer," "AI slop trash," "you're ruining the industry")
  • Comments debating whether AI should exist: removed (take it to another sub)

--

Other Mod Policy Changes: No on Game Collections (Ex: Come play my 50+ games on my website!) and Yes on Tool Testing if its related to games; Like game making or like a heavily, heavily gamified app. It should be really be more game than tool, not just a stock app with leaderboard or cute character encouraging/informing people on self-care.

We are sorry that we are giving up on the fight against AI. It's either this, or shut down the group because not a single person on this planet can dedicate the time to evaluating *every single game* to find hints of deeply embedded AI. Or investigate all accusations with or without merit. Or know of all the AI things people use to make games, assets, music! That's not what any of us signed up for - we are here only to help devs connect with playtesters.

If you do not wish to playtest the games with AI - absolutely fine. We're afraid we're going to have to let you determine what is playtest-worthy or not from here.

If you are BRAND NEW to Reddit and want to post or share your game, read this beforehand!

Hi new Redditor! We're excited that you want to post about your game and have people play it. However, there's something you should know before you do.

Reddit will ban you if your first few posts/comments are links to somewhere.

Reddit has a robust, over-exuberant filtering system, necessary but for groups like this, it can be a slight pain. When you post your game and it's your first post, Reddit ASSUMES FIRST AND DOES NOT ASK QUESTIONS LATER! You will be automatically shadowbanned, which means unable to post or even potentially comment.
Then we get a lot of posters coming to us in Modmail, asking " Why did my post disappear?" Nearly all Modmails are about this issue, roughly 3 a day.

Reddit is also a bit secretive about certain processes - how to get un-shadow-banned is not even really known to be possible. We don't see the record of shadowbanning at all so unless we know of the name and check it regularly, we wouldn't see it un-shadow-banned. We don't know how long your account needs to be open or how much Karma needs to be on it in order for the Filter to stop paying attention to you but we suspect around 100 Post and 100 Comment Karma.

So, if you are new to reddit and want to share your game - DON'T! Not yet, please go post cool/helpful/ positive comments and posts in other groups. Playtest other people's games here and comment on them prolifically. Once you have some "Reddit Post/Comment Karma" under your name first, THEN post your link to your game! You'll be less likely (but not immune, never immune) from being shadowbanned that way for sharing your game.

Edit: If AI recommended you post your game here....Don't Yet until you've developed your account as a good karma community member! This really isn't a "post and ghost" platform, it's community-first. AI doesn't realize this about Reddit.

P.S. This group is 100% responsible for getting accounts banned (when you don't do the steps above) but it's literally out of our control to reverse. So please....don't modmail us unless you KNOW you are not shadowbanned, you have the required karma, and yet your post is not showing up. Only then we can be of some help.

[PC] (Windows) Lode Builder - A retro puzzle-platformer inspired by Lode Runner with dynamic building mechanics. Free Demo available on Steam!

Game Title: Lode Builder

Playable Link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5212370/Lode_Builder_Demo/

Platform: PC (Windows)

Description: Lode Builder is a 2D retro puzzle-platformer heavily inspired by the all-time classic Lode Runner. However, it introduces an entirely new layer of tactical depth by adding dynamic, resource-based building mechanics directly into the core gameplay. Instead of following strictly calculated predefined paths, players must gather resources spread across a tight 23x38 pixel grid canvas to engineer their own way out. You can dynamically construct ladders for sudden vertical movement, stretch long chains to cross deadly pits, or use the devastating Mass Burn ability to obliterate pursuing enemy robots and rapidly descend to greater depths. The game features three themed campaigns with over 150 levels that perfectly balance classic arcade reaction speeds with mind-bending puzzle logic.

Browser Microdemo:
https://thelatelab.com/play/stealthmate

Platform: PC / Steam

Hello there! My brother, sister, and I have been working on Stealthmate, a game where every character moves like a chess piece.

Last time I posted here I showed our real-time chess mode. This time I wanted to share some of the puzzles from the single-player campaign.

Each level is a small stealth puzzle where you need to understand how the enemies can move, find a safe path through the board, and reach the objective without getting captured. As you progress, we introduce different chess pieces, enemies, obstacles, optional objectives, and other mechanics that change how you approach each level.

The Steam demo includes a portion of the campaign and is completely free.

We also made a much smaller browser microdemo if you want to try the core puzzle idea without installing anything. It works on PC and mobile, although it was mainly designed for mobile:
https://thelatelab.com/play/stealthmate

For anyone curious about the completely different real-time mode I mentioned, this was my previous post:
https://www.reddit.com/r/playmygame/comments/1x06ptz/realtime_chess/

I’d love to hear what you think about the puzzles, especially the difficulty progression and whether the chess movement creates interesting enough decisions.

Involvement:
I’m one of the developers. I’m making Stealthmate together with my brother and sister.

Trailer Tuesday [Browser, free] Slipface: off-road racing on terrain that deforms.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Playable Link: https://slipfacegame.com/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=playmygame

Platform: Platform: browser, desktop. **WebGPU required** (current Chrome/Edge). Free, no sign-up.
Best with PC and gamepad. Also run on decent mobile.

Description: Slipface is a browser off-road racer I've been building solo. The terrain is simulated (ruts, sinkage, sand that displaces), and the AI trucks dig the track up as they race, so the line they carve is the line you then have to drive. Play time: a race is 1–3 minutes; a derby is about 90 seconds.

Things I'd like feedback on:

  1. **Difficulty:** the default is 2 rivals. (max 9) Too easy, too hard, or fine?
  2. **Sinking:** the ground traps you if you lift off in deep sand. Does it read as a fair mechanic or as a bug?
  3. **First 5 minutes:** where did you get bored or confused?

Honest feedback welcome, including "I couldn't get it to run" (please include browser and GPU).

[PC] (Web) I made a game where you have no body — possess any creature and learn its skills. Free Chapter 1 demo, playable in browser

• Upvotes

Game Title: Essence: The Other Wave — Chapter 1 Demo

Playable Link: https://devolikin.itch.io/essence-the-other-wave

Platform: Browser (Windows, Mac, Linux) + Windows download

Description: You are an Essence — a bodiless consciousness sent from a steampunk world into a living fantasy one. You have no body of your own, so you take one. Every creature is a teacher: a hare teaches you speed, a wolf a sword strike, a fire elemental a spark. Finish the body's quest and the skill stays with you forever, whatever body you wear next.

What's in the demo:

  • 50+ bodies to possess — beasts, elementals, villagers, bandits, orcs
  • 15 weapons and 5 schools of magic to mix into your build
  • 4 elemental Guardian bosses with phased fights
  • a golem companion you can arm and equip
  • crafting with three tiers of gear
  • a village with its own people, quests and secrets
  • full English and Russian localization

The demo is the whole first chapter — several hours of play. You can play it right in the browser or download the Windows version (smoother, and it keeps saves on your PC).

I'd really love feedback — what felt good, what was confusing, where you got stuck. Every comment helps!

Game Title: Autowala

Playable Link: play.bytera.in/autowala

Platform: Web Browser (mobile not supported)

Description:

Autowala is a 2D top-down driving and transport simulation game that runs directly in your browser. At the start of the game, players choose their preferred career path: driving a passenger auto rickshaw to handle passenger pick-and-drop jobs, or operating a cargo auto to haul freight deliveries.

Completing trips earn cash, allowing players to expand and upgrade their fleet over time into larger vehicles like passenger cars and heavy cargo trucks.

Gameplay requires balancing time efficiency with strict road rules. The AI traffic system includes functional traffic lights with countdown timers, crosswalks, and active civilian pedestrians.

Violating rules, such as running a red signal, hitting pedestrian NPCs, or colliding with other vehicles on the road, results in financial penalties deducted directly from your wallet balance.

Players must also monitor vehicle resources by pulling into fuel bays to fill up petrol, diesel, or CNG. The game features a complete day and night cycle with distinct shift changes, lighting effects, and shifting traffic densities to navigate through.

Game Title: Arcade Ticketeer

Playable Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zipcadia.arcadeticketeer

Platform: Android (Google Play)

Description:

Arcade Ticketeer is a retro pixel-art idle game where you run an arcade. You start with a single claw machine, win prizes, and spend what you earn to upgrade it and unlock more attractions: Plinko, Coin Flip, Capsule Pop and Cannon Range. Each attraction has its own currency and its own skill tree, so you decide whether to make one machine very strong or grow all of them together. Some shops spend one attraction's currency to boost the next one. When you are ready, Prestige resets the arcade in exchange for permanent bonuses, which makes the next run faster. The game keeps earning while you are away, so you collect offline earnings when you come back. You can play actively (time the claw, watch Plinko cascades, chain coin flips) or let the machines run. Plinko and Coin Flip are simulated, with no real-money gambling. Trailer: https://youtu.be/MhtTqDovtGo

Free to Play Status:

It is free with optional rewarded ads (the game is marked "Contains ads" on Google Play).

Involvement:

I'm the developer and publisher. I made Arcade Ticketeer under my small indie studio, Zipcadia. I'd like feedback on three things: whether the first 10 minutes are clear, whether the first unlock comes at the right time, and any bugs on your device (phone model and Android version help a lot).

[PC] (Web) I built a free party game where the players create the questions — and the funniest answer wins 🎉

Thumbnail

Game Title: Punchy

Playable Link: https://punchy.wtf/online

Platform: Web Browser

Description:

Hey everyone! 👋 I’m an indie developer from Denmark, and I’d love to share my game, Punchy — a free browser-based party game where creativity, humor, and questionable answers are the keys to victory.

Punchy is designed for game nights, parties, and gatherings with friends. Players join using their phones, while the game runs on a shared screen. No downloads or installations are required.

What makes Punchy different is that the players create the questions themselves! Instead of relying entirely on a fixed set of prompts, you can come up with your own ridiculous scenarios, awkward situations, and absurd questions. Players then compete to deliver the funniest answers, and everyone votes for their favorites.

The game supports 3–8 players, with additional audience participation for larger groups. It also features multiple game modes, allowing you to adjust the experience depending on whether you’re looking for something family-friendly or completely unhinged.

Punchy is available in both English and Danish, and it’s completely free to play directly in your browser.

I’m still working on improving the game, and I’m excited to get it into the hands of more people. If you enjoy party games and making your friends laugh (or questioning your friendships), I’d love for you to give it a try!

Free to Play Status:

[x] Free to play

Involvement:

I’m the solo indie developer behind Punchy. I handle the development and work on improving the game, from its features and gameplay to the overall experience. This is a passion project, and my goal is to create a fun, accessible party game that people can enjoy together without having to buy anything or install an app.

I’d love to hear what you think if you give it a try!

[PC] (Web) My first game (made with AI, not hiding it 😄): Snake meets Vampire Survivors – every segment of your snake is a weapon. Honest feedback welcome!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

Hey r/playmygame! 👋

**Game Title:** Snake Arsenal

**Playable Link:** https://zlatansec.itch.io/snake-arsenal

**Platform:** Browser (PC and mobile)

**Description:**

Snake Arsenal is classic Snake mixed with a Vampire Survivors-style bullet heaven. You control a neon snake, and every segment of its body is a weapon that fires on its own: blasters, buzzsaws, mortars, tesla coils, side lasers, frost auras, mines and glaives.

Eat gems to grow longer and level up, then pick new weapons or bonuses. Grab 3 identical weapon segments and they merge into a stronger one, all the way up to a golden level 4. Your body works as a shield: only your head can take damage, so a long snake is a safe snake.

The Snake twist: loop around a horde of enemies and close the circle with your own body to crush everything inside the loop. It's the most satisfying move in the game!

Each run lasts 10 minutes against ever-growing hordes, with bosses along the way and a giant Leviathan at the end. Between runs, you spend coins on permanent upgrades, unlock new weapons and snake skins, and take on daily challenges. There are 4 worlds to clear. It's available in 20 languages, with no download and no account needed.

I'd love feedback on three things: did you understand the merge and the coil without reading the "How to play" screen? Is world 1 too hard or too easy? And when did you get bored, if you did?

**Free to Play Status:**

- [x] Free to play

- [ ] Demo/Key available

- [ ] Paid

**Involvement:**

This is my first game and I'm not a programmer, so I want to be upfront about it: the game was made with Claude (an AI). Claude wrote the code, the graphics (all drawn by code), the music and the sound effects. My role was game direction and playtesting: I picked the concept, played it over and over, and pushed for changes. For example, I couldn't beat world 1, so the boss fight was redesigned, and I didn't understand the merge mechanic, so illustrated tutorials were added. No pretension, just a fun little game I'm proud of!

Hold out until dawn, then go again: from Night 2 onward enemies get tougher and "Night Rules" change the weather and the rules of the run (Blood Moon, Thick Fog, Frozen Night, Plague Night).

There are four heroines, each with her own weapon trees. Locked heroes have a one-time "Try it" so you can play them before spending gold. A standard run takes about 13 minutes, and Short mode about 4 minutes.

New in this update: weekly and all-time leaderboards for each hero (standard and short runs are separate, and you can tap a row to see that player's build), a hero pick on your first run, better boss entrances, and improved mouse controls on PC (hold the button and keep the cursor toward where you want to go; WASD and arrow keys also work).

No download and no sign-up. English and Korean are supported.

Update on my free survivors-like. New since the last post:

- Weekly and all-time leaderboards per hero (standard and short runs are separate).

- Your first run lets you pick your hero. Locked heroes have a one-time "Try it".

- Boss entrances and kill-streak moments feel better now.

- PC: WASD / arrow keys work, and mouse movement now follows your cursor from the character (it was clunky before, thanks to the feedback I got).
