How do I stop hating these people? I'm pretty sure the way out of this whole thing is for us to find a way to come together, but I hate how stupid they are, how selfish, how careless, how ignorant, and how hateful. I have no faith that they can learn, they are so deep in Plato's cave and no amount of sense can sway them. Help us all.

It helps to recognize that while some of these people might have just been born out the gate fated to be terrible, most people who are like this are taught through structural forces (school, culture, media, social norms, etc) that benefit from turning people, who could have been intelligent compassionate people, into constantly angry frightened selfish people. People in power become rich from robbing these people of a chance to be educated, to feel connected to other people instead of terrified of them, to not be constantly under threat of death by poverty, to own anything, to have access to social mobility. These people ultimately need help but have been trained to view medicine as poison, conditioned to view competiton as the default mode of interaction. They have agency, they could be different and I have little respect for them because of the choice to keep being terrible, but I view it all as sad that this is the life they have been funneled into by sociopathic people in power who attained power through their willingness to step on, rob, and exploit on their way to the top. Those are the people that my anger is directed.
