Apart from the MANY other things wrong with this, radical muslims and communists could not be further apart on the political spectrum.
In fact radical islam could be characterised as extreme-right in nature, so this person probably has a lot in common with them (just a different flavour of god)
That's not (just) a socialism thing, that's a "you helped me with my coup" thing. By definition, a leader can't trust those people. They're the first to get purged. And the true ideologues NEVER see it coming.
True, and yet the amount of nuance I see on this topic is often quite low.
Dems “support” Muslims only because that is part of a theoretical end state where nobody has control through religion/faith. We see now, for ourselves, that faith leads to fascism when threatened. If you haven’t realized that yet, now you can think about it.
If Islam were here instead, life would probably be worse. Various sects and all, but it’s generally way more repressive. Enshrined pedophilia, women can’t learn or expose any skin, etc.
And that support is in most ways theoretical and argumentative anyway. We’re doing almost nothing for them. And they aren’t supportive voters either, as we saw in the 2024 election.
You don’t try to restrict their immigration because they’re already here and going nowhere.
Unfortunately freedom of religion is a direct path to fascism. Since theism is not a true thing, and since it tends to be more motivational and more competitive than secularism, it will always try to take over.
The belief system does not allow for coexistence with people who don’t follow it. If god wants humans to obey him/her, then all humans should obey. And it will turn very fast from they should, to we must make them.
Ideas shift very easily because theistic religion is based on community, not ideas. The ideas are post-hoc justification for a gut reaction, and the gut reaction is just whatever benefits them and fuck everyone else.
