Discussion Merlin Should Have Been More Than A Servant In The Final Season Spoiler
Sorry but after the events of season 4 I am not sure why Merlin is still a servant. Im only three episodes into my season 5 rewatch and im highly irritated. Not because Merlin isn't getting credit but the shere amount of disrespect he has to put up with and yes I know Arthur doesn't know about Merlin’s magic and all he has done but Merlin has proven himself more than a servant time and time again (Always rescuing Arthur, pointing Agravaine as the traitor, ect.) I mean he is a part of the round table ! What adds fuel to the fire is Arthur making Mordred a knight? Like wtf? Im not saying make Merlin a knight, but can he not get a better position? Arthur had already broken from tradition surely elevating Merlin even a little could have went a long way and I know from a writing perspective this allows things to be at the status quo but in universe it just shows how under appreciated Merlin truly is and frustrated me to no end!
